Tusker Hunt Recap

Pyun-Pyun stored the carcass of the fallen tusker as he always had done with any kills that they had. Ryuji had to apologize to his familiars, he promised before of not using magic, but after he had witnessed how clumsy he performed with the first hunt beside the fact that the tusker is a troublesome creature to deal with. He had expected that it would be tough but setting his handicap on the first creature to hunt is a complete blunder. Maybe he can train with the later as he immediately recognizes that he is not ready yet to wield it as a weapon. He did carry it as a weapon only to be used if he had no option.

Their second and third tusker's were in the same area. Raiji was able to utilize his new skill while Ryuji immediately trapped it with as they went into a certain distance. The tuskers still had the opportunity to charge but Fuji was able to decapitate one of them with frying its head to ashes which looked nasty. It was not as much consumption and power unlike the one that was hurled to the slimes but due to the blessing that Yubis provided him, it amplified the damage which was enough to electrocute the head part to ashes. Raiji with the help of Pyun-Pyun was able to take the other one down using their respective skills. which allows Raiji to hold the smaller tusker and enforce himself with which doubles his strength for a certain amount of time. By Ryuji's calculations, it should be around roughly ten minutes.

Ryuji called it a day after taking down the last encounter with two tuskers. They did not get a chance to find a fourth tusker even if it was their target goal that they set this morning. This is due to the time. It was already afternoon and they already had skipped lunch. While they did improve with a better plan after the first hunt, encountering two tuskers at the same time took more time. Despite Ryuji trapping with , having to deal at the same time is quite nerve wracking because one almost escapes while they are busy ganging up on another one. This took a lot of energy to deal with. In the end the wolves looked tired and hungry. Ryuji too was a little bit tired due to lanky body. He was even surprised how agile these tusker creatures were despite their stocky build. He was able to use the shield form of the which was sturdy enough not to break under the tusker's charge attack, but his body cannot withstand the impact despite having the shield. He did also feel the hunger and tiredness of running around escaping the rampaging tuskers. Besides, he has a lot of things to consider rather than dedicating the whole day for a hunt.

For South Onorian wolves, one of these tuskers is already enough to feed a pack of ten wolves. However, Raiji was disappointed. Despite being able successfully hunting three tuskers, he felt it was a failure instead. His confidence waned. Their master wanted four, but they were a little below with the goal of four tuskers. He was defeated by the goal that was set by Ryuji earlier.

Ryuji noticed the downcast Raiji as they headed back to their base. "Raiji, don't feel down. I think we have enough things to last for 2-3 days. But we will hunt again tomorrow." He cheered up the older wolf brother saying it is alright.

"But master, why would we need to stop the hunt?" Fuji asked. He inquired this in-behalf of his downcast brother. He is concerned as his brother's emotions were going up and down since last night.

"It is because of our performance. We are all tired. Even if we encounter one right now, we might be putting ourselves in danger instead." Ryuji explained. But in truth, if he encountered one right now, he would like to yeet it's existence right away using his magic. Tuskers are indeed troublesome enemies, especially when they do the annoying charge attack.

"I see. I understand now." Fuji replied.

"We indeed have exerted ourselves with the last two tuskers." Raiji suddenly spoke. Their master's assessment is indeed correct. He barely has energy right now to do an attack. The last two tuskers were pretty tough as it doubled the difficulty avoiding the charging of one after the other. For a moment, there was an endless need of sprinting for their lives and evasive maneuvers that seemed eternity. It would be a real shame if they died without being able to feast with the earlier haul.

"Yeah, if we encountered them separately, we might have energy for another one, but we can't have it all can we?" Ryuji agreed with Raiji's conjecture.

"I understand master." Fuji answered but the last line is something like a life lesson for them. Even Raiji, who was downcast earlier, did try to contemplate the last line that their master spoke.

Seeing the wolves were quiet and contemplating, Ryuji patted the back of the two wolves. "Just be patient. You would also need to digest what you have experienced today. Nonetheless, it was still good that we have three tuskers. We shall feast on one tonight. Ok?"

"Yes master!" The two wolves were happy with the words of their master. It has been a while since they tasted tusker meat. Their tails wagged with their excitement.

"Master, is this the thing that you call recap?" Raiji spoke after ten seconds. He did realize what they were doing right now.

"Yes. Yes, it is." Ryuji replied. He was surprised but he felt relief and pride. The wolves are quite perceptive. How long has it been when he gave insights to his colleagues in his previous life? He felt warm.

Tartarus was similar to the divine realm, but it is on a much smaller scale. From afar it looked like a bustling city but if one actually arrives on the place, it has the main office building and some smaller buildings like dorms for the gods. However, it also had its own rivers since the Tartarus was a part of the underworld. The beings residing here are able to freely create their own place, like Yubis set up his café. There is also no day or night, but Tartarus is not as damp as a cavern. The concept is some spots are lit up brighter as if it's daytime and some are on perpetual night mode depending on the gods present. Each abode of the god can do that day and night cycle just for the whim. Practically whatever floats the boat for each god.

Morticia was looking suspiciously around her desk. She was checking if anyone is around. There are only a few co-workers in the area and situated pretty far. She put in her headphones and typed something on her computer. Gods, deities, and divine beings, like those who had yet to attain godhood and special cases, in Tartarus have their own desks cubicles but some gods prefer to work from their own place like Yubis. Also, their concept of working is much more flexible. They need to finish what they were tasked for the day. If it is a repetitive one like judging the souls of those who died, they only have a certain quota to finish and call it a day.

Morticia was investigating any interactions between an elf named Galvalen and the woman called Eliseyah. It was only to protect Takehiko but as explained by Yubis' email, it had become a bigger endeavor. She needs to find some clues or anything that could help Takehiko.

Takeda Takehiko, that child that their lady boss took in. He is also the man that her mentor Yubis called a friend. She was not able to meet the man but from what she heard. The man suffered a long battle from a disease called cancer. A young human in his twenties suffered much. She does not worry about usually these details as every mortal has a heartbreaking story. But for some reason, she felt sadness hearing that the man has a lot of regrets because he left his only family alone in a cruel world and not be able to repay things that his brother provided him. Usually, the people who died have regrets of not fulfilling their dreams. The people who regretted that they left their loved ones alone are the ones who usually have spouses and parents. For a young man who was at his prime, it is quite strange. It is also heartwarming and wholesome which was different from Lady Mely's definition of brotherly love. Lady Mely had a rather skewed perception about it.

The day that his brother died, she was quite curious. The man was not astounding and looked very normal. But it was rather odd that the other world's gods where the Takeda brothers came from, they caught a binbo-something, a kind of misfortune spirit clinging to the older brother. It had a unique name which may be native to the other world. It was quite a feat that the man was able to survive a long time from a series of misfortunes. She was surprised with the man's resilience.

Aside from this younger Takeda having connections with the higher ups, she had another reason for keeping them safe from harm.
