It was official. I was Alpha of the Crimson Bloodrose Mystic Spirit Pack. Yes, I know what you may be thinking. What a helluva long name to name your pack, it wasn't my fault. I would have to say that it was my ancestor's fault, especially at the beginning. It all started with my long great-grandfather Peter Pierce, but that's until for later.
At the moment, it was 7:25 am. I was really late to school. Even though the school didn't really start until 8:15 in the morning. I loved being in school before, so I could study extra and get more work done. Yes, I wasn't your typical Alpha teenager still in school. I didn't party much, except if it was at home. Then sure why not, and that was with a couple friends.
I haven't lost my virginity either like most alphas-to-be either, although now I'm alpha. Which I love, except for all of the work.
Back to my previous thought.
Five years ago, I became alpha of this pack, when my parents passed. It once belonged to my father, Albus Rose Pierce. Yeah, don't ask me about the name. Apparently my grandfather loved Harry Potter, so he named him Albus. I have no clue as to why his middle name was Rose, who knows and I don't care.
Grabbing a pair of sweats and a light blue sweater, I quickly changed into them. Throwing my purple sweats I had been wearing onto the bed, I walked out of my room. Walking across the hall, I knocked on my brother's door. Hearing nothing, I pressed my ear against the door. Still hearing nothing, I started getting worried.
Placing my hand on the knob of the door, I twisted it, and it opened. Looking in, I couldn't see my brother. Now that really worried me. Looking at my watch, I saw that it was 7:30 am. Crap! I only had fifteen minutes to get to school. Running down the stairs of the pack house, I went into the kitchen to find my brother finishing up with breakfast.
"Bro, you scared me." I said, standing next to him.
Warren swung his head over to where my voice was.
"Sorry little brother." he replied, a blush creeping up over his cheeks.
"You know I don't like it when you call me little." I said, annoyed slightly.
"Hey guys!" Mack said, jumping into the kitchen making Warren almost fall off the chair.
"Mack!" I snarled, somewhat angered.
Crouching near my older brother, I hugged him tightly. Fearing he may have a panic-attack, which he's had many of.
"Rett, I'm fine. I was just startled." Warren said, shaking a bit.
Looking over at Mack, my bestfriend and beta of the pack, I sent him a glare. I could see in his eyes that he was sorry, but sorry doesn't cut it. Not at all.
Even though I was mad, I was also excited. It was my first day at school back from an alpha camp, that was somewhat required. I went every summer since I became alpha, and this was the last one. Since I was eighteen now, I wouldn't have to go anymore. Thank goddess. I was tired of going there. And the fact that I might meet my mate as well, since at the alpha camp none of them there were my mates. So I was hoping that I'd meet my mate at school, since so far no one in my pack was my mate.
Standing up slowly, pulling my brother with me. I helped him back into his chair.
"Rett, you're going to be late. Don't worry about me, go go." my brother said, swishing his hands to make me leave.
I looked at my watch and say that it was 7:40 am, and he was right.
"Okay, but be careful." I said, running out to my car.
Revving up the engine, I took off from the pack house. Speeding throughout the edge of town, I made it to school with one minute to spare.
Parking my classic 1997 Chevrolet Corvette, near the back of the parking lot. Stepping out, I could smell something absolutely amazing. It was the scent of sandalwood and mint, mixed with the scents of the forest. It was delicious. Something I just couldn't wait to taste...
Then I remembered hearing that if you scent something really amazing, then it would be my mate. Hell yes! I pumped my fist into the air.
Running towards the school, I could see a figure all dressed in black walking into the school. The scent drifting off them was male, meaning that my mate was also a male. Which was perfect, considering I was openly gay to everyone in my pack and at school. So then he wouldn't have a problem dating me. Except, what if he was straight, or bisexual? Or something completely different? Would I have a chance with them? I have no clue.
Continuing running up to the school, I entered the school and walked into the office. Seeing my mate standing in front of Celia, the secretary. I watched as he cleared his throat to get her attention, which it did. Until she saw me that is, and her focus only came onto me. Which sucked, because she was apart of my pack and she was also a slut. Because there were times when she tried forcing herself onto me, and that was at home as well. That so wasn't cool or nice at all.
"Brett. You're extremely late today." she said, looking past my mate and at me.
Wow, was she totally shallow. Can't wait to tell my pack that I've found my mate, and then she won't be able to hang her paws on me anymore.
"I know. I have some homework still to get done." I replied, not caring about her pick-up lines.
Walking up to the front desk, I brushed by my mate. Feeling the the shocks and tingles as they ran up and down my arm, and throughout my body. I was suddenly giddy. It was a first.
That's when I stopped right in front of Celia, and I could instantly smell her arousal from there and it was disgusting.
"Celia, there's someone new standing here with us." I said, and she instantly snapped out of it.
I watched as she shifted her eyes away from me, and onto my mate. I growled lowly in my throat as my possessiveness and protectiveness overwhelmed me. Luckily Celia didn't hear me.
"Oh." she replied.
"Hello dear. What can I help you with?" she said, beckoning my mate forward toward the both of us.
I could smell my mate as he stood next to me, and I just wanted to reach out and touch him. I wasn't sure if he was feeling the mating bond though, so I couldn't exactly do that in school anyway.
"I'm a new student. The name is Jeremiah Hunt." he said, and I instantly got hard.
"Oh. I was expecting you today, here is your schedule for classes." she said, as she handed him the piece of paper.
"Thanks Ma'am." he said, as he turned and walked off out of the office.
I snickered loudly, wow, he was so well-mannered. I'm surprised. Hell, I'm not even well-mannered at times.
"That wasn't funny Brett." Celia said, huffing out in annoyance.
"Celia, I'm your Alpha. Call me that, or Mr. Pierce. You know that there are humans around here. Plus, I'm definitely not your lover either." I said, a growling emitting from the back of my throat.
"Yes Alpha." she said, as I watched her hang her head low.
I knew all too well what she wanted from me, and that was the title of Luna and my money as well. I hated it when people just get close to you for those things, which is why I barely ever touch my money for things. That's what my job is for, taking care of the pack and my family business as well.
Turning around, I flared my power when I heard her whimper in submissiveness. Hmm... good, now she shouldn't try to get on my bad side. Especially when my mate is nearby.
Walking out of the office, I could see my mate standing nearby looking at his schedule. I had a feeling he was confused by it. So I decided to go and help him.
"Hey, need help?" I said, my voice quite hoarse.
That's when my mate turned around swiftly and bumped right into me, and fell to the ground. I felt bad, apparently I had startled him by accident. I so didn't mean to do that.
That's when I heard him say 'Ouch.'
"Are you okay?" I said, extending my hand so I could pull him up.
I watched as he lifted his head to look at me. As he looked at me, I figured that he was feeling the mate bond because he was staring at me with this look in his beautiful eyes.
Then he got off the floor and grabbed his items from the floor.
"I'm fine." he replied gruffly.
"Okay. Did you need help with your schedule?" I said, wondering.
I watched him quietly as he looked down at it, and said nothing.
"Maybe."
How cute. He wasn't sure or not.
"What's your second period?" I said.
"Anatomy." he replied, not looking at me, which hurt my feelings a bit.
"Sweet. One of my friends has this class. Come with me." I said as I grabbed his hand, feeling the tingles run up my hand again.
Walking away from the office, I pulled him along until we got to the back of the building. I stopped at room 121, which was a science classroom. When we walked in, I could feel everything stilling. And I knew that my mate could probably tell that. I knew that it should have been after eight now, so class must have been starting soon.
Through the pack link, I sent Alison a word.
'Hey Alison, where exactly are you in class?'
'In the back Brett. You'll find me.'
'Thanks girl.'
Walking further into the classroom, I finally spotted Alison's long brown hair and headed over to her. I stopped when we almost hit her desk she was currently sitting at.
"Aliy. This is Jeremiah Hunt, he's new here. Take very good care of him. I trust you to do that." I said, dropping his hand and I couldn't feel the tingles and shocks anymore.
Watching as Alison lifted her head, and said a short 'Sure.' I dropped his hand and walked off.
As I stepped through the classroom door to the classroom, I sent another message to Alison.
'Alison, be nice to Jeremiah. He's my mate. Thanks Aliy.'
'No problem Brett, I'll keep this info under wraps.'
And soon I went over to the history department side of the school. Entering my Economics class, I went over and sat down near the back by the window. Sighing softly, I quickly got out paper to take notes on. Currently we were learning about the economic community of the US. Which I was surprised that we were doing that, considering most schools don't do present day stuff like that.
Although, I've never been to a school outside of Wolf Falls. So I wouldn't know if other schools did that, but it was a possibility.
After about forty-five minutes of doing random stuff in class, the bell rang. Sighing happily, I got my things together and walked out of the classroom.
My next class was Calculus, which I wasn't really a fan of, but I did the work anyway. Because I knew that my parents would have wanted that.
When I walked into the classroom, I went into the back and sat down. Pulling out my things, I laid everything down in the correct spot on my desk. Then I pulled out my phone and started playing one of my games, which often I played to get my mind off things. The game was called Dragon City, and it was pretty cool. I loved playing it.
That's when I smelled the sandalwood and mint, mixed with the scent of the forest. Then I knew my mate had this class for third period.
Looking up from my phone, I saw my mate standing by the entrance of the classroom. He hadn't seen me yet. After Mr. Raine introduced him to the class, my mate came down and sat next to me on my left. Which I still guessed he hadn't seen me either.
"Hey there." I said, as the teacher started getting into the speech of equations.
And, I got no reply. Of course, I kinda expected it.
"Hey, I'm talking to you." I said, anger suddenly seeping through.
I continued trying to get his attention, because I honestly wanted to speak with him. It was kinda hard considering he was ignoring me, and that was slightly pissing my wolf off. I really wanted to talk with him, even if he didn't want to. I continued trying to get his attention for about ten minutes, still nothing.
"What?" he said, as he turned around and looked at me.
I could tell that he was very annoyed with me, and I liked it. I liked it a lot.
"Talk to me." I said gently.
"Busy." he said, as he looked back at the board. Not missing a thing.
"No you're not. It's just math." I said, sounding somewhat like an asshole.
He scoffed. Wow, he's brave. Of course, he doesn't know that I'm an alpha. But, I think it's hot when he stands up to me.
"Not just math bruh. Now leave me alone." he said, and I could feel the rejection in my heart.
I grunted softly, making sure no one heard me. It wasn't his fault, I knew this. Yet, it hurt. So much.
"So, my name is Brett. I know your name is Jeremiah, wanna be friends?" I said, scooting somewhat closer in my chair.
I watched as he looked up at the teacher, who wasn't paying attention to those kids in the back. He was still going on with that lecture about algebraic equations, and how we can apply those to real life situations.
"Not really." he said, and I felt more pain in my chest.
More rejection, of course I knew that it would happen at first. But I was really hoping that my mate would be kinder, and not so harsh. But, I can work with it. I've known other packs whose mates are really hard to deal with, so it's fine.
"Cmon, why not?" I said, leaning down close to his neck. I could feel him shiver slightly, noticing that I was close enough. I wanted to bite him, but I really didn't want to lose him though.
"I hate people, personally." he replied, through gritted teeth. "So I'd like it if you'd leave me alone."
"Okay... if that's what you really want, then I shall." I said.
Damn it! He doesn't even want to be near me, so why'd I think he'd like me? Or... even love me? My fate is death. I must keep this a secret, even from Warren. My own brother, who couldn't become alpha like he wanted to. Heh, maybe once I'll die he can become alpha like he wanted to. Then it shouldn't be a bad thing then, he'll be glad.
"Brett, no talking in class." I heard Mr. Raine snap, breaking my train of thought.
I growled lowly in the back of my throat, no wolf talks to their alpha like that.
"Pssh... I can do what I want, got a problem with that?" I said, pissed off.
I watched from the corner of my eyes, to see that Jeremiah was watching Mr. Raine shake from my words. He should be, considering I was going easy on him. I wasn't about to snap and kill him right in front of class, I wasn't that stupid. Plus, there's also other humans in here as well.
"No, Mr. Pierce. I have no problem with what you're doing." Mr. Raine said, and went back to his important speech of equations.
"So... where were we?" I said softly, knowing that truly we were absolutely nowhere in this small chat.
"Nowhere, if that's what you want to know." he said stiffly.
"Cmon, why won't you talk to me?"
"I just don't want to, I'm behind in classes. Now leave me alone, or I will make a complaint about you to the office." he threatened, leaving me speechless.
I understood he was mad at me, so I did what he asked. I scooted back over to my seat, and tried not to look like his fifth rejection wasn't killing me.
School passed quite quickly after that, and I was glad for that. I don't think I could stand being anywhere near him, despite that I was already in love with him.
Standing outside the school building next to my classic Corvette, I watched quietly as Jeremiah walked over to this old beat-up Chevy pickup and got in. I continued watching as he drove off. Leaving my keys in the car, hidden pretty well, I took off into the forest beside the school.
Shifting into my wolf form, I could feel the creaks and breaks of my bones as they shifted into ones of a wolf. I grunted a couple times from the intense pain that I felt, and took off running alongside the road. I knew that my clothes were shredded, so I wasn't going to be able to wear those again.
I instantly caught up to his old beat-up pickup, and continued following it until we reached a drive way. Which was about thirty minutes away from the school. In a pretty desolate area of town, and I never had been over here before. So it was all pretty new to me, and I liked it.
I watched as Jeremiah pulled into the driveway, and parked his car in front of the greying house. He got out and walked up to the house and went in, closing the door behind him.
I walked closer, thanking the goddess that they lived very close to the forest that surrounded the town. Once I was about 100 yards away, I sat down in the bristle grass.
Birds chirping around me, the scent of the forest drew me in. The heat from what sunlight that could reach me, was intense. Seeing flashes of color jump across my sight, making me purr in delight.
See, normal wolves can't exactly see in color. But we werewolves can, it's sort of a special ability for every single one of us. And, it's in more depth than humans could ever see as well. So it makes us happy to see something quite beautiful, and more in depth than ever in our wolf form.
Yawning loudly, I laid down and fell asleep quite quickly.
The last thing I fell asleep thinking was that I hoped Jeremiah and I would start getting to know each other, so I wouldn't have to die.
