Picking up a Hitchhiker

While driving down the highway I was studying the new interface in my car. This was said to have the latest technology and be highly advanced. When I once again fully focused on the road I saw a hitchhiker, or I'm assuming he was a hitchhiker, dancing while holding a sign.

I squinted my eyes to try and see if I could make out what the words said. but they almost looked to be in a different language. I quickly drove past without a second thought, thinking that would be the last I would ever see of him.

As I got closer and closer, I visualized the crappy mattress I had to go back home too. I have a good job and a great car, thanks to my job, but that pretty much ends it; my apartment is crap and my life in general isn't that great.

I soon passed the hospital, my mind continued to zap back to the hitchhiker. I sat in my car confused as I saw flashes of his face and that weird sogn he was holding. Why couldnt I get this guy out of my head?! Do I know him from somewhere and I just didn't notice at first?

I tried to recall of there was some sort of message I could interpret from his dancing, or the sigh, but I came up with nothing. I pondered about his strange appearance, but decided I was just too tired and my brain was trying to focus on something that i didn't need too.

Shortly after arriving at my smelly, cheap, dingy apartment, I kicked off my shoes and proceeded into the spare bedroom to check on my experiment; which was if a plant could grow in a different environment than it's usual.

The concept may seem trivial to some and something fairly simple at that, but no matter how much I defer the idea of creating new and more viable planting source, the more I'm instead drawn towards it. Hence my experiments.

Our leader is heavily pushing for anyone in the research department to come up eith a viable solution. However, over the last 5 years, none of my colleagues have been successful.

After checking my plants, I walked over to the kitchen to get a glass of water, which of course was a beaker, the only glasses aside from these on my face that I own, and walked over to my small window and sighed deeply while gazing out at the city.

The only good thing about this apartment is the amazing view of the skyline and my proximity to my work at the hospital. With the pay and all the perks i get from my job, I can easily handle a small and run down apartment for a few years.

After finishing my nightly routine of checking my plants, gathering my clothes for the following day, and so on, I got ready for bed and slowly tried to relax. I've had difficulty sleeping these last few nights.

When I was driving home ine evening I saw a man and woman on the side of the road. They didn't have anything with them but I just got a really strange, tingling feeling in my head when I saw them.

With that, my mind is on the hitchhiker once more; I wonder what would have happened if I- *HONK HONK!* I opened my eyes, shook my head, and looked back to the road. I-How am I still...Well I guess I was just daydreaming.

I could have swore I was already at home. This was a very vivid daydream. It's been happening more and more lately. Maybe I need to talk with Andrew about this.

Suddenly, I felt a strange tingle in my head and looked over to the side of the road, and there he was. The same hitchhiker from before, but this time I could vaguely make out the words on his sign and he was looking directly at me.

I slowly pulled off to the side of the road. my curiosity could not hold back any longer. "I'm glad you decided to return Gabe," I was frozen in place, stunned, how did he know my name? What was going on?
