Chapter 18

Today we went to the "Hadrian's Villa Tivoli."

This once opulent villa was built as a retreat from Rome for the Emperor Hadrian in the 2nd century AD. In the later years of his reign he governed the empire from here, and it was then used by his successors. In the ruins, gardens and fountains.

Students like us saw some evidence of the extravagant tastes of the emperors and cardinals who once lived there.

After 30-40 minutes we arrived on a place called "The CataCombs"

We explored the underground burial chambers tucked beneath the Eternal City, on a guided tour of Rome's Catacombs. An eerie experience for even the bravest of hearts.

Apparently us students will gain a fascinating insight into the city's history by exploring what lies beneath its streets.

(The Christian catacombs house important examples of early Christian art, from before 400AD.)

It was an awesome adventure. (the best one)

We actually learned a lot in these few days.

We ate our lunches late but is fine cause we had some snacks before entering to the Catacombs.

Anyway we ate "Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe" for our lunch.Moresoever we also ate "panettone"

is a Christmas time treat in Italy.

To put it in my way is a huge cake that has a shape of a pudding.

I took some pics of my food and post it on IG.

I also took pictures of the place.

We went to the Trajan's Column.

I've already been there with my auntie 2 days ago.

This triumphal column, completed in 113AD, commemorates Emperor Trajan's victory in the Dacian Wars.Us student had to study the continuous frieze that winds up around the tower depicting his two military campaigns. It shows the emperor and his troops preparing for and engaging in battle, providing an invaluable source of information on Roman methods of warfare.

It was getting late so we head back for dinner.

We ate outside.Oh by the way, since most of us had money,we used it on our first 2 days,so that the teachers didnt have to pay for lunch or dinner.(so kind of us)

However i wasnt with them for the first 2 days, they haven't actually noticed.

Now we ate "pasta al ragù" for dinner.

We also ate 2 pudding for our dessert.

(My feeling on italian food : "che buontà")
