Mission for the sect, assistance from afar

When Ace stepped into the portal, he realised that he was standing on solid ground. Around him were the geniuses who had qualified to participate in the sword tower event.

Waiting for a short moment, he realised that the Sword Scholar and Cody were just waiting for the others to arrive. Clueless as to what the current situation was about, Ace closed his eyes.

"Hey! Aren't you the one who survived an attack from the Sword Envoy?" A nasty voice called out towards Ace who opened his eyes nonchalantly. His eyes releasing a sharp gaze which startled the young man who had been impudent towards him.

The sword masters who were resting were attracted by the commotion. Most of them were paying attention to the trivial argument, but none had the intention to get involved in this matter. In the sword tower, it was almost better to make an ally than an enemy.

Even the Sword Scholar and Cody turned towards Ace and that young man, but for another reason, they needed to understand how such a young boy was recognised as their rival. If this young boy in their eyes can't even deal with someone picking a fight with him, how would he qualify as their rival?

The young man hesitated for a moment, but still threatened in a menacing way, "Challenge me to a sword battle, if I win, allow me to take your position as one of the three chosen ones."

Ace chuckled at the words of the young man, "What do I stand to gain from winning the battle then? Are you going to pay with your life?"

The young man froze for a moment before regaining his composure. The young man then took out a black orb from his spatial ring and placed it on his palm. "I do not have the slightest intentions of putting my life on the line for a battle, this mysterious orb I found in some ancient ruins will be the compensation for wasting your time if I just so happen to lose."

Ace pondered for a moment on the surface before nodding his head, saying, "Very well, we shall settle this swiftly, please, make the first move."

Ace was being courteous towards his opponent, this much was more than enough to gain the respect of the other sword masters present.

"I'm going for it then." The young man replied, lightning flashing in his eyes as he stabbed Ace at a neck breaking speed, he was attempting to end this battle swiftly while putting himself at risk.

His attack might be meteoric in the eyes of the other geniuses, but to Ace whose five senses have been heightened once again after cultivating mental energy, this attack was still too slow to be worth mentioning.

Drawing out his sword in a casual manner, he parried the attack and while the young man was off-balance, he stepped in and placed the blade of his sword onto the young man's neck. "You've lost."

The young man waited for Ace to pull back his sword before backing off, even though he was indignant about the defeat being so sudden, he still kept true to the bet and gave Ace the mysterious orb.

Even though it might contain some profound mystery, it has already been three years since he found it. Since he wasn't able to figure out the key to unlock or awaken the mysterious orb, it would be better to just give it away in order to stay alive.

Ace took the orb over before closing his eyes to rest once again, only to be alerted by a system message that he has not heard for a long time. But finally, it was a mission that was beneficial to the development of his sect.

Mission Details: As someone who has been chosen by the system, your main mission is to create a sect that dominates the cultivation universe, not just a demonic sword cultivator that is admired by others.

Mission: Spread the fame of the Nirvana Sect in the Divine realm, the more people that hear of the Nirvana Sect, the better the rewards. Communication systems will be made possible from the Divine realm, you may communicate with your sect elders to develop the sect from both cultivation realms simultaneously.

Knowing that he had a duty to fulfill, Ace opened his eyes and prepared himself to embrace the tall ordeal that he had to deal with next. Even though he had some ideas in mind on how to spread the fame of the Nirvana Sect, it would still take time for his plans to be made possible.

Soon, before he could finish mapping out his plan, the door which was previously locked suddenly creaked open.

Through the door, many glass pillars horizontal across the ground could be seen. There were about a thousand Sword Masters present even after the elimination process including those from other places, but there were only eight hundred pillars.

When one looked downwards, all they would see are deadly spikes made of reinforced ice that would be sharp enough to pierce through their mortal bodies.

The first floor alone wasn't out to just eliminate them, it was trying to reduce the amount of competitors drastically in just the first floor. Not only that, the exit was to the right of the sword masters, they were given a chance to leave before the first challenge began.

But the moment one enters the challenge and finds a glass pillar to stand on, one mistake could be fatal regardless of how minor it was.

The glass pillars were thin and fragile, that was the first deduction the sword masters made. But since there were a lack of glass pillars, this could only mean one thing, it was a sword fest from the very beginning.

Stepping onto the glass pillar, Ace, the Sword Scholar and Cody including some youths who were renowned to others, were avoided by the crowd that was fighting over the chance to walk across to the other side.

But in the end, there were a few cowardly or probably ingenious sword masters that backed out, but none of the sword masters present looked down on them just because of this reason.

But the chaotic situation only got worse as more time passed, glass pillars were shattering from the destructive forces of the sword battles and those who fell, their grand future has already ended here.

Their bodies were left behind to rot in the Sword Tower until the mysterious forces swept them away, carrying their ashes and corpses somewhere which will never be found.

But it's only at times like this where the elites among the elites will shine and prove themselves worthy to be in here.

On the 37th glass pillar from the left, there was a young man who was defeating his opponents one after another with a long sword which was about three metres in length, with a bizarre curve and a blade with spikes that caved inwards.

Wherever he swings his sword to, countless elites would be sent flying away. Those with fast reflexes were able to dodge while those with formidable defense and body strength were able to hold their ground, as for those with neither trait, they perished from slipping off the glass pillar, their bodies pierced through by the merciless spikes which had survived the torrent of time.

"What the hell do you want with us?" One of the sword masters who had blocked away the attack from the sword master on a killing spree questioned. Energy was gathering in his sword as he slashed towards that sword master.

He was one of the elites among the elites as well, Sova was his name, the sword master who was well respected by others for being an upright person. His sword was the standard longsword, but that only added on to his respect, his moves were simple, but they were polished.

"Are you seeking death right now when I've already decided to spare you?" James asked in a calm tone, his bizarre looking sword slashing through the air, curving in an irregular angle towards Sova who blocked it with the standard method.

All he did was raise his sword, taking on the usual stance of any beginner sword master, it was simple, but done to perfection without any flaws, fully bringing out the essence of this foundation move which stopped the slash from above easily.

"Haha, things are getting interesting!"
