Over complacent

The moment the members of the Nirvana Sect stepped into the portal and arrived in the other dimension, they were already in trouble.

All of them were separated by the various currents in the transportation portal, stranded alone in what seemed like a mountainous area.

The same problem was faced by the other cultivation forces as well, but this problem was only unique to the weaker cultivators because the stronger ones had confidence to protect themselves at the very least.

The very first thing that the members of the Nirvana Sect did after arriving in this dimension was remain standing at their initial locations.

Even though they have yet to discuss the course of action to take in such a situation, they were placing their trust in the versatile glove Ray had.

Ray was currently standing at the summit of the mountain after expending some effort to deal with the demon beasts along the way, even harvesting a vitality fruit worth ten points by a stroke of luck.

There were quite a few uses to this glove Arith had customised for him and the basic usage was to communicate with others from his sect even if they're a far distance away from one another.

Activating the first effect of the glove by shifting the mechanism to the first lever within the glove with his spirit energy, Ray sent his coordinates to everyone as he took cover on top of a tree with which could conceal his position well until the others arrived.

The others who have been waiting patiently have their eyes lit up the moment they received Ray coordinates.

They might have been lucky, but Ray was directly in the centre from all of them, which means that it'll only be a matter of hours before they gather just on the first day.

With their advantage in numbers and their strength which is already at the top of the ladder, securing a fortress and making further plans wouldn't be impossible.

While everyone was rushing there with a plan in mind, Alexander was the only one who had a concrete plan which might help them to secure most of the treasures here.

As for his plan, it would soon take effect after they locate and occupy the fortress with Garen's help.

Alexander's plan would only work out on the basis that Garen was able to locate the fortress as he had claimed before they entered the portal, but he was willing to trust this junior of his even though they have not worked together with each other before.

As Ray waited patiently on the tree, he was cultivating until he was disturbed by a voice which was coming from directly in front of him.

Opening his eyes, he realised that it was another youth around his age with two others following behind him,

"What's the matter? Picking a fight?"

Even though Ray was a kind soul towards his friends, he was merciless and unyielding towards his enemies.

Controlling his aura, Ray questioned as he stood up and stared into the eyes of the intruders who interrupted his peaceful cultivation session.

"I'm not interested in a fight, I'm just here to take out another competitor and earn one competition point from an insignificant ant."

The man declared arrogantly as he leaped off the tree he was on, wind energy swirling around his fist whereas the two behind him were sending a kick towards Ray from behind.

Ray was cornered from all three directions, but he just remained standing there calmly.

"Are you too scared to retaliate?" The man mocked as his fist drew closer to Ray's face, only to be stopped by a barrier which prevented his fist from advancing any further.

"What?" The man wanted to pull his fist back, but the suction force from the barrier was pulling him as Ray snapped his fingers, generating a spark of ray from above which eliminated the man, not even sparing his ashes and bones.

His juniors who were cornering Ray backed out upon seeing that Ray wasn't bothered with them as they made the decision to call for backup.

"You really think that you can leave here alive after attempting to harm me?"

Ray questioned as two bolts of lightning from far pierced through the bodies of those two who tried to escape, their eyes wide open in regret as they asked themselves, why were we so full of ourselves?

"It seems like I'm the first person to arrive here."

Lancelot commented as he sat down on the tree branch opposite to Ray.

"Get ready, we might have to face more opponents soon enough."

The moment Ray said this, laughter from the ground beneath them caught their attention.

Beneath them right now was a single cultivator who was being cornered by four people.

The leader of the group of four was acting arrogantly as he pointed his finger to the isolated man who was smirking as he stared at them.

"Are you ready to sacrifice your lives for the greater cause?" The man asked when he saw the group of four advancing towards him as he drew out his weapon, it was a long spear and just from the external aura he was releasing, his strength was evidently comparable to Lancelot.

"Just accept the fact that you're going to die here today for isolating yourselves without regrouping with your allies."

The leader of the group of four said as he held his sabre out and slashed towards the man at a lightning fast speed.

Another Martial Spirit, not only that, his three juniors were also in the Martial Spirit realm as well.

Ray was thinking about intervening so that the others can arrive here without getting into an extended battle, but when he saw Lancelot's outstretched arm which prevented him from dropping down, he did as told and continued to observe the situation.

On the surface, it seemed as though the isolated youth was going to be defeated in a battle between equals due to the number disadvantage, but reality smacked the group of four hard.

With just four quick stabs into the air, the youth sent out phantom spear attacks from a far range and killed the four youths as they stared at him, their eyes wide open in shock before collapsing onto the ground.

"The two of you can show yourselves now, I hold no malicious intentions towards those who don't offend me first."

The youth said in the direction of Lancelot and Ray as the two of them dropped onto the ground, all three of them keeping their weapons to declare peace.

"What's your purpose in calling us out here when you could have just left without even meeting us?"

Cutting straight to the chase, Lancelot asked without letting his guard down while Ray remained silent behind him,

Ray understood that unless he breakthroughs into the Martial Spirit realm in this dimension, there was nothing he could do in this dimension since he was just way too weak compared to those in the first ladder.

Ray understood that they were wrong, they were only in the second ladder besides Alexander whose strength could contend against those in the first ladder.

Out of all of them in this dimension, Lancelot was the only demon level talent who was stronger than all the others.

"I'm just curious as to how the two of you were able to lurk here undetected by me. If not for the two corpses on the ground and the excess holy energy still in the air, I wouldn't have noticed your presence."

The man explained as he took a step back from Lancelot and Ray.

"I have no intentions to make any enemies for now, but remember my name, I'm the wandering cultivator Sonic who made it through here after defeating countless opponents unlike people like you that hail from those cultivation forces or sects."

Sonic said with a smile before taking another step backwards as he vanished before their eyes.

"Ray, if you ever see that person again, crush the life saving item elder Arith made for us immediately. Among us, only I have the strength to challenge him and even I might suffer defeat in his hands."

Lancelot cautioned as he cursed under his breath, blaming himself for being too weak to protect himself and for being way too arrogant in thinking that he would be unstoppable in this dimension.

That youth was just a wandering cultivator without any cultivation resources to groom him, yet that youth was still stronger than him despite the countless cultivation resources, elixirs and superb cultivation grounds he was cultivating with daily.

Soon after, Max and Ruby arrived together, explaining that they could sense each other's presence even from miles away because of the bloodline they share.

As for Luke, he had arrived shortly after them followed by Garen who had taken a longer time to arrive.

The only person they were waiting for now is Alexander who was somehow late even though he was punctual under usual circumstances.

"Inferno Scriptures, Inferno Rage!"
