Disaster befalls

Lancelot and Garen ventured deeper into the ruin alongside each other with their weapons physically prepared while their minds were being wary of their surroundings.

Every single sound including the sound of their footsteps, the air which was brushing past their faces from the open entrance somewhere and even their own heartbeats were loud and clear.

"Lancelot, you aren't one to make such rash decisions, can you tell me the reason why you've decided to advance deeper into the ruins? Or does mutual trust not exist between us?"

Garen hesitated for a moment, but still voiced out his concerns which were returned with only laughter.

"Garen, you've not known me for long enough, but me hiding secrets from you isn't because of lack of trust, but a form of protection and duty I have as the first official disciple under the sect. While Alexander might have enrolled into the sect before me, I was the one who has been staying in the sect since the first day I joined."

"But Lancelot, I've never seen you in the sect, neither have I seen you guiding our juniors or making any form of contributions to the sect since the first day I matriculated into the sect with another identity."

Garen expressed as they made a turn to the corner, only for two hobgoblins to ambush them the moment they turned into the corner, from the way their weapons were having a full swing distance, it was interpretable that the hobgoblins have been waiting for them.

"I'll handle it."

Garen said as two mystical projectiles around him became fiery balls of fire which consumed the hobgoblins without leaving behind a single trace.

"You've improved. As for your question just now, all I can tell you is that I have been helping our juniors secretly, but only those who truly needed my help and most importantly, they must have the perseverance to undergo a hellish training intensity."

Lancelot explained, but before he could finish speaking, a growl from the depths of the ruin aroused their attention.

"Open your eyes, this is the strength that I possess as the number one disciple of the Nirvana Sect, but this is only half of the first step towards the throne I have chosen."

Lancelot told Garen as he charged forward towards the approaching enemy.

It was an ogre, three meters tall with a bulky build more than twice Lancelot's size, held in its hand was a gigantic bat with metal spikes stuck onto it as a weapon.

"Lightning, flash!"

Lancelot charged towards the ogre and pierced his spear through its body while transmitting his tribulation lightning energy into its wound which was infected by him.

"Lightning, gather!"

The ogre screamed in pain and dropped its weapon, it tried to escape but it fell onto the ground mercilessly.

"Lightning, explode!"

Without any hesitation, Lancelot burst the body of the ogre before its own eyes while it was conscious before it gained the entry ticket to hell.

"This is the man I truly am, someone who can stoop to any means to achieve my goal so that I can protect those around me. Some of you may question the true strength of my sect master, but I'm sure that right now, he's someone I can only look up to proudly. Just watch."

*Iron Saber Faction*

The Iron Saber Faction was a newly promoted Wolf Tier cultivation force which has gained the recognition of others through their means of doing things.

They were determined to achieve their goals, but at the same time, they would always help those in need and only gather their own cultivation resources.

If someone got the cultivation resource before them, they would give their thanks before leaving without any resentment at all.

This is because of their leader who they had full trust in, Brandon.

Brandon was the strongest disciple and most talented genius in the history of the Iron Saber Faction, three years ago when he was fifteen, he was already a Martial Spirit and right now at the age of eighteen, he was a Martial Lord with strength stronger than the norm in the first ladder.

He had six trustworthy juniors which he cared and loved for, unlike other teams with internal competition between their own team members, the Iron Saber Faction team had full trust in each other.

If they gathered a cultivation resource or treasure, they would always share it and determine who needs it most, the same went for any weapon or cultivation opportunity and martial skill they obtained.

The Faction Master of the Iron Saber Faction was glad when he knew about this and for this reason, their team always experienced what it's like to be cultivating alongside true allies.

While there might be disparities between their cultivation talents, none of them ever abandoned each other. The weaker ones understood themselves that they were weaker and would thus make their contribution through secondary skills.

These secondary skills include alchemy, blacksmithing, arrays and others.

They were a well balanced team which were all rounded without any major weaknesses.

"Brandon, I heard that there's a sudden demon beast invasion in the nearby gathering area of the Sheep Tier cultivation forces, should we help them out?"

A pretty young woman asked with a blessed smile as she tugged on Brandon's arm.

"Come on Iffah, can't you just wait until we return to the faction as well before making everyone envy the two of you?"

"Hehe, anyways, let's head towards them right now to back them up."

"Of course!"

"Yea man!"

"She's a woman."

Brandon who had been silent interrupted and caused an awkward atmosphere which everyone laughed off.

The Iron Saber Faction team rushed towards the gathering area immediately while chattering along the way, but before they even arrived, the thick smoke in the air and stench of blood in the air stopped them in their tracks.

Brandon was about to call for a retreat, but before he could even open his mouth to speak, the cry of a familiar voice from behind petrified him.

"Zen!"

"Idiot!"

"Why did you block that for me?"

The young man by the name of Zen fell onto the ground with a gigantic hole in the middle of his chest, his vital organs totally blasted off by the beam of energy from the aerial demon beast in the air with wings and limbs.

"Hahahaha! Humans, pathetic! Explode!"

The young man by the name of Zen opened his mouth to cry for help, only to vomit out a mouthful of blood as he witnessed his own body expanding before exploding into the end, his flesh and blood scattering onto his allies who had been with him for years.

"Ahhh!"

"Zen!"

"You bitch!"

One of the members leaped into the air and tried to take down the aerial demon beast, only to be impaled by its sharp claws.

"Burn!"

The demon beast screeched as the member fell onto the ground with his body still burning, rolling on the ground trying to get the fire off himself to no avail.

"Wait for me!"

Brandon took a step forward and wanted to rush towards his junior, even ignoring the sharp wind blade which was about to take his life.

"Interesting, capture!"

The aerial demon beast changed its mind the moment it saw Iffah trying to protect Brandon with its body as it changed the sharp wind blade into a durable cage and captured her.

"Impale, impale, impale!"

The next moment, before Brandon could even get a grasp of what was going on, a sharp blade manifested in the air and punctured the hearts of his allies.

"Guys!"

"Brandon...run!"

"Escape now!"

"Get the hell out of here!"

Everyone just wanted Brandon to leave, but how could the aerial demon beast had just gained freedom and let fun slip away from itself this easily?

"Get onto the ground!"

The aerial demon beast laughed in a frenzy and crushed Brandon onto the ground with just its pressure alone, it was a demon beast with strength even above the leader of the Moonlight Cult.

"Argh! Let them go! Just capture me you beast!"

Brandon cried out in desperation, pain and helplessness.

"Don't worry, I'll let you live. Remember, you get to live after beholding their execution.

"Hahahahaha! Hahahaha!"

The next moment, the other demon beasts who had been participating in the battle after being commanded by the aerial demon beast were being killed by his merciless wind blades in one clean slash.

"Hahahaha! Hahahaha!"

The place was in shambles right now, cultivation tournament or whatever, it doesn't mean a damn thing right now!

"Let's start with you, shall we?"

Brandon watched his three allies getting tortured alive with their limbs being severed one at a time, the demon beast only allowing them to pass on after experiencing the feeling of losing their eyesight and their tongues.

He had totally crippled them while heightening their pain sensitivity, to make things worse, there was nothing he could do.

"Now then, maybe it's time for the main dish?"

The aerial demon beast asked rhetorically as it bent down onto the ground and used its filthy arm to raise Iffah's chin.

"It's been quite some time since I've seen such a pretty human female."

"No!"

"Brandon, I'm sorry."

Iffah said as she tried to bite down on her tongue, only to realise that her body had already been paralysed.

"How can I let my prey die this easily?"

"Iffah!"
