Providing assistance

Are they in danger?

Hearing the growl filled with hostile intent, Ace rushed towards his disciples as quickly as possible, his sword brimming with energy ready to be released at any moment.

"Everyone! Fall back and gather around the center of the fortress! We have to hold our ground no matter what for our fallen allies who are still recovering from their injuries!"

Alexander yelled at the top of his voice as the cultivators followed his words and retreated. Even so, the demon beasts were approaching, and it would only be a matter of seconds before they were trampled to death by the demon beasts.

"Alexander, do you have any plans?" One of the rescued cultivators asked in a hurry as he expended most of his spirit energy to form a circular earth wall that surrounded everyone.

The tower which they were relying on malfunctioned at this moment. Even without any discussion, the cultivators were sure that the demon beasts had planned this attack.

Another cultivator of the fire element gathered two fireballs on his palm and fired them towards the approaching demon beasts in vain.

Yes, it did scorch and injured two demon beasts, but it was far from enough.

Is this the end? Unwilling to give up, everyone was ready to make their last stand.

The next moment, however, a wall of ice surrounded them. Blocking off all the demon beasts without crumbling as a youth descended from the sky.

With a single slash around him, he injured most of the demon beasts and scorched their wounds, making it impossible for it to recover in a short period.

As for the rest of the demon beasts who weren't injured by him, he just went around killing them first before cleaning up the chaotic battlefield.

"Yo, can someone explain the current situation to me?"

When Ace turned around, his young face surprised all the cultivators while Alexander and the rest called out to him in surprise.

"Sect master, what are you doing here?"

"I'm here to settle the problem, but first, I need to gain a full grasp of the situation."

"I understand, we can discuss the plans and share everything we know. Everyone fine with it?"

Alexander wanted to get to the bottom of this matter and solve it immediately, but he still kept his cool and asked everyone for their opinion first.

He has grown since the first time I met him. Back then, Alexander might have the strength and innate qualities to become a leader, but he had lacked the demeanor and attitude back then.

Ever since that day he met Jax, he had grown and developed into the man he was today. A man others can trust and with shoulders broad enough to shoulder heavy responsibilities.

"Of course, as long as it means having a chance at survival with my friends, I'll do everything within my power."

"My life is indebted to you and your juniors, contributing the information we know would be the least we can do."

The others agreed one by one as they jotted down whatever they knew on paper before passing it over to Alexander.

Without even taking a look at the written information from the others, Alexander passed it to Ace.

Ace read everything in just a matter of a few seconds. The information and experiences everyone was sharing was the truth, but there was only one piece of information that was useful.

[The mysterious being was the one who unsealed all the demon beasts]

"Who was the person who wrote this piece of information?"

Ace asked everyone as he turned around and held the note out.

A man with a sheathed saber stepped out. His frail face revealed fair, but his fists were clenched and determined for revenge.

"I am the one who wrote that piece of information."

This man was no other than Brandon, who had lost his friends to the aerial demon beasts. One of the strongest demon beasts which were unsealed by the mysterious being.

"That mysterious being is trapped under some ruins, which my team and I discovered but avoided because we weren't ready to put ourselves through the unknown danger."

Brandon began to explain their story and how they ignored the voice which called out to them, only to get them to leave after explaining that it had already chosen another inheritor.

Brandon and his group were perplexed as to what the voice was trying to imply that time but still left without giving it any further thought.

But now that Brandon thought about it again, he realized that the mysterious being had to do with the demon beasts.

"Are the ruins you mentioned located…"

Alexander asked the moment he heard the word ruins, Brandon's eyes widening in shock as he questioned in agitation, "How do you know about it?"

His arms were grabbing Alexander's shoulders with force, but Alexander didn't push Brandon away. Alexander could sense that Brandon was losing control of his emotions and held no malicious intentions towards him.

"Alexander, can you explain the situation?"

Ace asked as he separated Brandon from Alexander gently without harming him.

Brandon collapsed onto the ground, his body was devoid of energy, and his mental state was in complete disorder.

Alexander briefly explained the situation to Ace. Adding any additional details he felt might be useful, including the brief meeting he had with the mysterious being.

"Alexander, for now, get everyone to remain in the fortress and cultivate. With me around, the demon beasts stand no chance of interrupting any of you. As for the cultivation resources, forget about the points. Make full use of them."

"Yes, sect master."

In the meantime, Ace left the fortress. Unless the demon beasts were foolish enough to court death, he was sure that they would avoid gathering up for a second invasion immediately.

Flying into the sky on his sword so that the trees would not hinder his vision, looking around, Ace realized that the demon beasts were rushing towards the same direction.

But before even providing his assistance to the cultivators, he stopped in the air. Without even using his sword, sword waves manifested in the air and took the lives of the aerial demon beasts.

"Grace and Cidd will owe me a favor after this."

Ace thought to himself when he saw the demon beasts and cultivators led by Grace being in a heated battle.

"Step back."

Ace descended from the sky once again, clearing all the demon beasts except one which was only slightly injured by his sword.

It was a demon beast that resembled a bear. The demon beast was more than double his body size, releasing a threatening aura towards him fearlessly despite his allies falling in battle instantly.

What is going on? Under usual circumstances, a demon beast that has lived long enough to cultivate to such a cultivation realm shouldn't be this foolish.

In the world of demon beasts, only the strong with wits can survive. This particular demon beast being able to cultivate to such a realm could only mean that it was intelligent. Yet it was taking a foolish action right now, which doesn't match the intelligence it should have.

"I'll end your suffering right now. I'll make sure to get to the bottom of this matter. Just rest in peace."

Ace said towards the bear before ending its life by stabbing his sword into its heart. Ending its misery immediately so that it doesn't have to suffer any further."

"Sect master Ace, what are you doing here?"
