Yuenelia can only sigh at him. She has been doing this for far too long to get angry at him. She brought it upon herself, volunteering to comb his hair when he didn't ask for it. She has been spoiling him herself rather than him asking to be spoiled.
"You were about the same height as me when we started junior high school. What's with the sudden growth spurt at the end of it? And it just went on and on. Now you're like a tower." Yuenelia said as she was combing.
"What? You expect me to stay short like you? No thanks." Zordyz laughed.
"Hmph, it's not like I wanted to be short. You grew too much!" she pouted but didn't stop moving her hands.
"Well, this way I won't have any problem protecting you. Mum has always been worried about you getting harassed by other people after all." Zordyz said with his eyes closed.
"Then I have to thank you for keeping me safe with your height." she chuckled.
As it was still early, both of them enjoyed their time together in the park. It seems that time moved slowly for them in the morning.
"All done, let's go."
Yuenelia stood up and dusted her pleated skirt before picking up her bag.
"Thanks for the trouble." Zordyz reached out his hand and patted her head with a wide grin, revealing a pair of small canine teeth. He then walked off first.
Although she has seen it since they were kids, she was still stunned for a moment because he looked super adorable when he smiles like that.
It was rare to see him showing such a big smile. She can never get enough of seeing his happy face. It was part of the reason why she likes to keep him happy.
He is her sunshine after all. The one and only friend that was with her through thick and thin. He never complained or asked for anything in return from her.
He might look wild and grumpy on the outside but he is one of the kindest and gentlest people she ever met.
Others had their doubts about his nature because he only showed this side of him to her. She is truly grateful that Zordyz existed in her life.
Just thinking about it made her smile.
Zordyz turned around to find her still standing at the same place, smiling like an idiot.
"Hey, do you plan to turn into a statue? Hurry up, silly!" now it's his turn to nag.
"Coming! Hehe!" Yuenelia laughed and rushed towards him.
"What are you laughing about?" Zordyz furrowed his brow, curious at his friend's strange mood.
"Nothing important. Let's go!"
A big bunch of students were looking out of their class windows. "Ah, Princess Yuenelia is here!" someone shouted in the crowd.
"You're looking as beautiful as ever! Look here! Look here!"
"Yuenelia, you're so cute!"
"Please let me look into your dreamy eyes!"
As soon as Yuenelia heard those phrases, she immediately hides behind Zordyz. She hated this type of cheering, especially in the morning. Just thinking about how those people kept looking at her puts her in a bad mood.
Zordyz glared at the crowd and they swiftly ran off.
"Tsk, shameless bastards." he clicked his tongue in annoyance.
"You can come out now." he sighed, looking over his shoulder.
"I don't like this, not in one bit." she tugged at his sleeve, her expression almost crying. The cheering was much louder than yesterday.
"I know, let's get to our class. The sooner the better. If only you would scold them, they won't be behaving this way towards you."
"I can't!" she cried.
Zordyz pitied his friend. At least he can ward off admirers with his poisonous glares but not her. She's too kind to do that to her fellow students.
"Your hat." he reminded her, he already had his on.
"Oh! I almost forgot." Yuenelia did a small twirl with her finger and summoned her hat.
Their school; Hertbane High School is a school built especially for magic learners. They were required to have their hats on as an ID to enter the school. The hats were embedded with the school's magic emblem ID number to record the students' daily attendance. Of all the things the students can forget, their hats were not one of them. They were not allowed to enter the school compound without it.
The moment they entered the class...
"The wolf and witch couple is here~" their classmates chanted.
"Get a life! Can you guys not do that for a day?" Zordyz smacked the nearest guy's head.
"Ouch, we're only joking. You don't have to hit me so hard!" Ayden Jadenite, one of their long time friends, was the one being hit.
"I can bite you to death if you think it's funny." Zordyz stared at him.
"No, no, no! It's not! I still want my neck!" Ayden scooted far away. He knew very well that Zordyz has the capability to do so.
