Saico's Offer

"Mio amore?" Hawk's call hung in the air; a gentle plea laden with concern. Erithel had not only stirred an argument between her and Hawk, but she also kept provoking her. God forgive her but she couldn't bring herself to share a confined space with her, let alone endure the company of Hawk, who at the moment seemed more an irritant than a comfort.

Lost in contemplation, Simione's internal struggle was interrupted by the arrival of another car, maneuvering smoothly to a halt behind Hawk's vehicle. The windshield lowered, revealing Felip's puzzled expression as he peered out.

"Anything wrong?" he inquired; confusion etched on his face. He was aware though that some tension between Simione, Hawk, and Erithel lingered in the air threatens to erupt.

Hawk, with a swift glance toward his brother, assured him, "Not really, we're leaving in a minute." Hawk, perhaps sensing the turmoil, shifted his gaze back to his wife, urging her to join him in the car.
