Chapter 215: First Trip to the Universe Auction House Final

Joshua turned to his right where the voice had come from and took notice that the somewhat snake like lady was turned towards him with her couple of friends also looking in his direction at the same time while making a light hissing sound that came across as chuckling to some extent in Joshua's opinion. "Me and my friends couldn't help but notice your wide eyed looks at everything that was going on, so we thought that you and the rest of your group must be new to the Universe Shop right?" Her voice had a bit of a vibrating undertone to it that made it so that even though Joshua could hear the words in his language do to the translation device it was still clear that she was making hissing sounds to speak.

Joshua nodded in return before replying. "Oh yes. It was something new that appeared in our hub city recently so we decided to come and check it out."

"Hub city huh. Your world must have just recently evolved, but since you all seem so excited by everything I take it that things are going fairly well for you so far." She said with a smile that allowed Joshua to see two fangs slightly poking past her lips. He also noticed her elongated tongue from whenever she talked as well. "It is nice to see the excited looks on new faces when they come around, but I guess I can't talk too much about certain things with you, but if you need any outlook on the auction then feel free to ask me questions. My name is Selene." She said with a bright smile as if she was only too happy to help out some new comers.

"I'm Joshua and I'd be happy to take you up on that offer. After all me and my friends don't really know the value of all of the things that are being shown off. It's not like we could afford it at this point, but it would still be cool to have an understanding of how things worked around here." Joshua said with a small smile in return.

"It's not too surprising. I've heard from some of my ancestors that things were quite hectic when our world first evolved." She said before looking back to the stage and pointing out Lilith. "Since I come from a race of people that thrive on being information brokers between all the big wigs there are quite a few things that I can point out without breaking the system guide lines. To start things off the hostess of this auction Lilith is a new up and comer in the Universe Shop that really stands out do to her allure as a succubus."

"Wait a second." Joshua said stopping Selene before she could go into too much detail. You said that she's a succubus right? I have to ask if evolved races are allowed to visit worlds that haven't evolved yet because for some reason our history has several claims of races that we hadn't even met yet before our evolution process. Hell Thor was thought of as a god amongst a pantheon in an old religion from times past."

"It is possible. Evolved races do some times visit primitive planets, but usually in disguise. They also aren't able to use the benefits of the system when doing so, but it wouldn't take all that much to spread stories and show off to a primitive species I presume." Selene said with a thoughtful look. Joshua simply nodded in return and let Selene continue explaining things to him. "The weapon that's currently being shown off is a brilliant one and the makers are in fact the dwarves that created the legendary weapon for Thor himself, but many new comers would fall into the trap of comparing this sword to Mjolnir."

"I'm assuming they are both sentient weapons with their elemental benefits so I don't see why this sword wouldn't be worthwhile." Joshua asked a bit puzzled.

"It is a powerful weapon but at most it would be worth twice the current starting price." Selene said with a smile that caught Joshua off guard. "Although it is a powerful weapon there are thousands if not millions of similar weapons that are always being made by upcoming blacksmith and established ones alike. My uncle has a collection of spears with similar properties that he keeps in his collection and they were all worth the same as this sword. The reason Thor's hammer is so legendary is because of the man that wields it in the first place. It was the perfect match for Thor and his abilities so it comes as no surprise that it would grow in strength and create a truly legendary pairing."

"In other words the only way for this sword to reach the legendary status that it's being presented as having would be if the wielder was strong and made a name for himself in the first place." Joshua said understanding where Selene was going with her explanation.

"Exactly. It's fine to buy them in an auction as long as you don't go over twice the amount it's being presented as. Any more than that and you're just wasting money." Selene explained just as the bidding came to a close. In the end it was sold off to a rather robust looking warrior that was even taller than Joshua with a body that almost seemed to be made of stone with red veins flowing through it that looked like magma. The man did what Joshua could only assume was a smile based off how stiff his face was. In the end the sword was sold for two hundred and twenty million universe coins. "He overpaid for it but the Magna race is a good match for such a blade. It's usually the young and excited that get caught up in these kinds of small time bidding wars."

Joshua could only nod at her statement while not understanding how so much money could be considered small time. Before he could ask Selene about it there was another item that was being brought to the stage to be voted on. This time around what was being auctioned wasn't something that could fit in the auditorium let alone the stage so a hologram was projecting it. "Now we have the latest freighter class star ship that has been created by the Falith clan that is renowned for creating some of the best star ships all across the universe. This freighter of course comes equipped for full warp travel all across the universe and has several different fuel sources to make it easy to maintain. It also comes equipped with ten envoy star ships, thirty robotic warlords, forty piloted solar ships, and a planet Tera Former. The starting price for this item will be one billion universe coins." Lilith explained causing Joshua to barely restrain himself from gasping out loud.

"Wow, it's a surprise to see such a new line coming out so soon. It's only been five hundred years since the last version was made." Selene said with a mildly shocked tone. With those words Joshua was once again reminded that even if the woman sitting next to him looked young and beautiful she could feasibly be older than all of humanity for all he knew. "It's a nice starting price as well, but with all of the assets it comes with it will likely go for around five billion UC."

"Is there any way I can see the starship in comparison to something I actually know the size of." Joshua asked Selene and she immediately turned her attention back to him.

"Of course just bring up the auction catalog and you will see what's currently being shown on stage. You can then compare the size to anything the system has recorded of your world." She said pointing it out to Joshua when he pulled up his catalog. "Oh make sure you're looking through the live auction, the other auctions are always up with cycle long windows for bidding unlike the live auction that is done in person."

Joshua nodded before clicking on the star ship that in Joshua's mind kind of looked like a giant futuristic gun barrel to some extent. It didn't have any wings on it like the little star ship they had gone inside earlier, but instead relied on a giant thruster on the back with side thrusters that would allow it to turn, but with something of its size there was no way it was going to be moving at high speeds without warping from place to place. When Joshua brought up the image to scale the first thing the system decided to compare it with to give Joshua an idea of the scale of the ship was the moon.

When he saw the image of the ship next to the moon Joshua couldn't believe his eyes. The ship was around half the size of the moon, but it also came with ten envoy ships that were each about a tenth of the size of the larger one. Then it showed the size of the robotic warlords and they were towering machines that were minuscule in comparison to the ships, but each stood at around fifty meters tall. The star ships were similar in size to the ones Joshua had seen earlier at the universe shop with a slightly more upgraded design. The scale of all of this just surprised Joshua more than anything else he had seen from the system up to this point.

"Wait a minute." Joshua said getting Selene's attention once more. "Did she just say it comes with a Planet Tera Former?"

"Yep, these are extremely important for races that have grown to the point where their own planets can't support them anymore. It can be used to help alter suitable planets so sustain a race and be beneficial to them." Selene said explaining the basics, but not willing to go to deep so that she wouldn't break any rules. "Of course there are certain rules on which planets can be changed and you can't just go around Tera Forming anything you want or else the system will retaliate and there aren't many who can survive that."

By the time Selene finished explaining things the star ship was sold at a ridiculous six and a half billion units. Joshua could here Selene mumbling something about needing to rethink some of her calculation on the values of new star ships but he put that out of mind as another hologram was soon brought up right after the last one. This time the hologram was of a whole planet. "Our next item for today's auction will be this mid-size planet that has just been cleared by the system itself to be put up for auction. I'm sure this will be a tightly contested bidding war so try your best." Lilith said with a grin as an excitement could be felt from the crowd.

Joshua just shook his head in wonder at how ridiculously small the Universe Shop had just made him feel.
