Chapter 24

Fiona's surgery was a stunning success, and after she woke up and Aura finished groping her, she was allowed to look in a mirror.

Still naked of course.

She didn't have much to be ashamed of, she was pretty well balanced, a modest bosom and bottom, nothing particularly special, but that was where her beauty came from, and was also probably why the bandits had loved tormenting her so much.

Her horns and tail suited her wonderfully, though her tail still hadn't healed perfectly yet, and overall, she gave a very girl-next-door kind of vibe.

Her body would need a week to recover before any strenuous activity, and her gills would take twice that until they became safe to use.

Her left eye was a vibrant ice blue, almost freakishly so, but given that its companion would be rainbow on a silver background, it would probably fit right in.

Her leg would match her skin color, and look and feel realistic, as Aura wasn't a fan of the contrast between prosthetics and skin.

Once she had properly recovered, with her new eye and leg installed, she would be ready to start the next phase of her exostence.

But it would be a while before then, since Aura still hadn't figured out how to make an artificial eye using rainbow crystal and and the rare metals he had on hand.

He wanted to use rainbow crystal because it looked pretty, not because it had any special function, and the rare metals would make up most of the rest.

He did plan on using some special crystals to make the lenses though.

Truth lenses were a type of lens made with alchemy that allowed its user to see through lies and illusions, and, like many rare things, could be made from materials found near rainbow crystals.

Alchemical glass in general was made by refining ordinary glass using a high grade alchemical catalyst, generally some sort of crystal-attributed material, and lenses, particularly truth lenses, were mostly refined with rainbow powder.

Aura didn't have a high grade, crystal attributed alchemical catalyst, but he did have a metric shitload of crystalline orichalum, which could be refined into a divine grade alchemical catalyst, which would be even better.

A truth lens made with the highest quality alchemical glass would need equally phenominal materials in order to make into an eye that could satisfy Aura's creative urges.

'Making a prosthetic eye was pretty damn easy in the game though...'

From what Aura could see, there wasn't much of a need at all to worry about how he was going to construct Fiona's eye, since there were only three necessary parts to a prosthetic eye in Ascendance.

The lens, the shutter and the body were all that you needed to make an eye, and then you just enchanted it, moreover the enchantments were easy.

The leg, on the other hand, was a different story, since the leg needed many things to make, flexibility durability, strength, balance, size, weight, and appearance were all important factors.

The bones would be made out of Blue selenium, due to its ability to store and transmit force, which was a necessity for the prosthetic to move.

The lifewood would be mostly a shell, with the inside being hollow, so that the wearer could grow things inside by channeling force through it.

Both the thigh and the calf would be mostly open space, with room for small herbs to grow.

The suface of the leg would be made out of Fiona's skin, which Aura harvested from the leg he cut off.

A little gruesome, yes, but it would make her leg look and feel realistic, especially given how lifewood reacted to the force of living creatures, becoming soft like flesh.

Even someone with a serious leg fetish would approve of this prosthetic.

As for the wings Aura had planned, he had yet to decide what kind of wings would work best, so he was waiting to decide.

He had dragon wings at least, so no need to worry about not being able to let the demoness fly asap.

As a creator though, Aura thought he could do better, and since making metal wings was off the table, he needed to find a creature with wings he could alter into decent shape, but he wasn't exactly spoiled for choice.

He needed wings that could stay wet for long periods of time, were relatively small, and still functional, not to mention that they had to look good.

Demon wings were impossible, since demons in Ascendance weren't like the demons in folklore and myths.

Angel wings were a bad idea, since angels were badasses, had a thing about always getting even, and their wings need hours of cleaning after soaking in water for any period of time.

Dragon wings were cool, but they would look out of place on Fiona.

Aura was pretty stumped by the problem, since it isn't like flying monsters are all that common, so he decided to put it off until he had an idea.
