"Mr. Adler, then day after tomorrow you have–"
"I understand Linda, you've been at it since morning. Yes I'll make sure to clear up my schedule and wrap up with all the meetings." I removed my suit jacket and threw it on the seat beside me. It'd been a daily routine since the day I landed in the East Coast. My schedule was completely packed and on top of it I discovered some event I didn't even know I was supposed to attend. And now all I was doing here was wrapping up deals and cleaning up mess.
"Sir about the event–"
"Can't we talk about it later Linda." I cut her off again and she glared at me but I took it anyhow. I've got to give her some credit, if not for her my personal and professional life would've been a mess.
"Shall we head back to the hotel then?" She sighed.
"Certainly." I nodded.
The day had tired me up. After running a quick shower, I had merely stepped out of the bathroom when my phone started ringing. I sighed when I saw Nash's name on the screen, "What?" I spoke.
"Hey!" He shouted into the phone, I drew it away from my ear and put it on speaker, going to fetch some clothes. "Lucifer, guess whose in East Coast too?"
"Who?"
"Me! Let's meet out. Now don't go on giving me excuses."
Hearing his tone I knew he was serious and knowing the stubborn bastard he was, I gave in, "Fine."
"That's like it. I'll be at your hotel at seven."
"Okay." I hung up.
An hour later the door to my suite swung open and Nash stood their grinning. "How did you get the key?" I asked putting on my watch.
"Oh Lucifer you have no idea. I have keys to three of your private suites. But I won't tell where I got them from."
"I'll just get all of the locks changed." I shrugged. Well it was easy for me out of the many businesses under Adler Enterprises one was the hotel chain. Every hotel under our chain had a private master suite accessible to only family. No doubt he was able to get a key.
"I know you wouldn't. Now lets get going." He grinned.
Nash whistled when the car was brought in by the valet, "Subtle, real subtle."
I smirked and got into my white Aston Martin DB11. "When did she get here?" He asked getting in.
"Yesterday," I put on my seatbelt, "Which one today?" East Coast had a thorough chain of high-end clubs which came under the Miller Industries. Nash might've looked like an idiot but when it came to business he could be shrewd, not much as myself though.
"Club Venus. I'm gonna live my bachelor life today." He wiggled his eyebrows.
"You are a bachelor Nash." I reminded him.
"Then college life it is." He smirked. Of course, now I was damn sure about the way the night was going to end.
We got out of the car and made our way inside. As usual the club was packed, I made my toward the private rooms when Nash stopped me, "I said we'll be living our college days. We didn't use the private rooms back then."
I arched my brow at his statement and added, "Well okay we did but that was after we had our fun and booze." He waved his hand.
And just as he said, we made our way to the bar, Nash chose the place from where he got a full view of the dance floor. I was in no mood for all this today. I planned on getting a few drinks and then I'd be out of here, as for Nash, he sure did plan on getting hooked. The bartender smiled at us, "Good evening sirs. The usuals?"
We both nodded. The bartender returned with our drinks a few minutes later. Grabbing his drink Nash turned to face the dance floor. "Oh man I never get bored of this." He smirked.
And then he went on about the girls, breaking them down using his so called 'analytical skills'. He gulped down his drink, "I think it's time. The black dress it is." I turned to look at the woman he was talking about and spotted her immediately. Her dress was stuck to her body like a second skin and her red hair bounced with move she made. Our eyes locked for a moment and she smiled at me, I turned away, "I don't think so."
"Well it's worth a try." And he made his way to her. I looked down at my watch, five minutes and were all he needed. Well not to sound prude but we did this all the time back in college. Clubbing was just an excuse to hook up and I was a part of it too and maybe just a little too much. But it did help me gain a lot of experience. I ordered an another drink and allowed myself to look around, it wouldn't hurt anyway. The club was mostly packed up, the bartender returned with my drink when something rather someone caught my eye.
She was seated toward the end of the bar, a group of students around her who were busy chatting and laughing. It was evident from her face she was bored, her drink was untouched while she just stared out into space. She was standing out completely, something she might've planned not to, dressing in a white sweatshirt and a baseball cap. Someone patted on her shoulder and her face turned around, a blonde guy whispered something in her ear but she shook her head, probably refusing him. She smiled and excused herself, she got out of her seat and my eyes unconsciously followed her, it was then I realized she was heading for the exit and I was on my feet immediately. I glanced around to look for Nash and found him on the dancefloor, the red head in his arms. He caught my eye and I pointed to the exit, and that bastard smirked and gave me a thumbs up.
I rushed out, looking around for her and cursed myself for being too slow. It was then I spotted her heading to the parking area and I followed her. I shook my head realising my behaviour was now becoming similar to that of a stalker. I hadn't even seen her face clearly but if she was who I thought her to be then there's no way I was going to lose her. She made her way to the VIP parking area. She strolled around in the area looking around at the cars and then stopped in front one. My car. She gazed at it for a few minutes and whistled, and I had to stifle a laugh. She moved around the car seemingly admiring it and then she paused, looking around she pulled out something from her pocket, her phone. She held it up and took a few pictures, she then looked down at it maybe looking at the pictures she just clicked. I smiled. I stepped out from the shadows and started to making my way to her but somebody reached her before me.
"Hey you brat!" A man shouted and I saw her jump, of course she didn't expect him. "What do you think you're doing here?" He snapped.
"I–" she started but he cut her off. He snatched the phone from her hands and looked down at it, "You're a car thief." He said with disgust and threw her phone away.
"Hey," she shouted, "I am not a thief."
And now I was certain of her identity. She moved to pick up her phone but the man gripped her collar from behind and yanked her up, "You think I'm an idiot. I know who you are."
She tried to fight him off, clawing at his arm, "You think you can win against me girl." He said his hand snaking wayward which made me clench my fists but before I could say something the area filled up with a scream. I actually smirked seeing what my little spitfire did, she had turned around and kicked him right in his nuts. The man stumbled backwards shouting in agony. She seized the moment and made a run for it but that geezer still followed her limping. I was already half way down when she bumped into me. She almost fell down from the impact but I held her by the arms. She looked up at me and her eyes widened. Looking down in the green eyes I loved I smiled, "I'll take it from here."
