The Great Wall

After saying our goodbyes to Miss Melaine, we left the booth and went to sit at one of the tall round tables. It seemed that these tall tables were more likely to be empty. I jumped on top of one of the stools while Turek and Cleo sat down on the other two.


Cleo seemed really happy and said "We made 6 silvers! That should last us for a while."


"Yeah! So how do we divide the reward?"


"Considering how much Cleo contributed to this quest, I think she should get the biggest share of the reward." I brought it up before anyone could bring up equally splitting the reward. I really thought Cleo should get more reward this time around.


"Yeah, I agree. Cleo had to carry me all the way to the city. I think she should get most of the reward."


"What? No way! We are all equal partners. All of us did our best. This was our first quest together and I think all of us should get 2 silvers each. And that's that!"


Cleo seemed quite adamant about it and seemed a bit hurt that we had suggested for her to take the biggest piece of the reward. She really was too kind.


Turek wanted to argue more but I stopped him and said to Cleo "Ok Cleo, you win. We will do as you say."


I took out the 6 silvers and put it on the table. I started to divide it when I heard a voice behind me.


"Well look here, isn't it that kid who was asking to join our party? Looks like he found two idiots to actually take him in!"


"Yeah, it's the little boy that was begging us to join in the morning. Is that your mommy little boy? Was she the only one who would party with you? Hahaha"


"Where did you get that money anyway? You must have stolen it right? No way a little kid like you would be allowed to do a quest!"


"What do you want?" I was starting to get pissed off, so I asked the guy as nicely as I could.


"Are you angry, little boy? Did mommy not feed you milk today?"


It looked like Cleo couldn't stand it anymore and got off the seat. She walked up to the man and said, "Get lost if you don't have any business with us. The money you see is our hard earned money that we received from the guild after doing a quest."


While both of them were taller than Cleo, she didn't seem afraid at all. If anything, the two of them were taken aback and backed up a bit. It seems they didn't think that an unranked adventurer would dare to talk back to them.
