I left the inn and arrived at the market in 15 minutes. It was not very close to the guild and it would take me 20 minutes from here to get to the guild.
I looked around until I found a shop that seemed to be selling supplies for adventurers. I went there and asked the shopkeeper.
"Do you have any water pouches for travelling?"
The shopkeeper seemed to have not heard me so I repeated the question in a louder voice.
Finally the shopkeeper looked at me but with contempt written on his face.
"Get lost kid, I don't have time to play around." he said angrily and got back to what he was doing.
Since this was not the first time for this to happen, I decided to not get mad. I asked the same question again calmly.
"What do you need a water pouch for? Did your parents send you? Do you even have the money?"
"I have the money and I need to buy a water pouch. How much is it?" I asked a bit impatiently since this guy was taking longer than I liked.
"Yeah I have the pouches. I have many types. The cheapest one is 50 copper and the best one I have is 5 silver."
"Can I see the 50 copper pouch?"
"Do you have the money?"
I was getting tired of this and showed him the 1 silver I had.
His eyes gleamed for a second and he said "Wait a moment. I will get them"
He went in to bring the pouches. He came back with a pouch and showed it to me.
I examined it and said "Can you fill this pouch with water? I need to check it for leaks"
The shopkeeper seemed surprised, took the pouch from my and went back. It seems he was going to give me a bad pouch. He brought a different pouch which was filled with water and showed it to me.
"Happy now?"
I examined the pouch and said "I will give you 70 coppers for 2 pouches."
He snatched back the pouch and said "50 coppers each"
I started to leave but I heard his void again "40 coppers each and I won't go lower than that"
"75 coppers for both and that bag over there and you have a deal" I pointed at the cheap looking bag on the side. We didn't really need a good one, so I thought it would do.
The shopkeeper thought for a moment and finally said "Deal!". It seemed to me that I might be paying to much if he was willing to add the bag. But in the end I decided that what I was getting was good enough. Once we did the quest, I wouldn't have to worry so much about the money
I took the pouches and the bag and gave him the money before leaving. Now I had 25 coppers left for the rest of the supplies. Medicine was costly and I didn't think I could buy any with 25 coppers. I still needed to buy food.
I looked around until I found the food stalls. I brought the cheapest food that I could find in 10 coppers leaving me with 15 coppers which I thought was good to keep in reserve just in case.
