Winteroot

We didn't encounter any large predators but we did see some snakes and small animals. They ran away most of the time when we close. Cleo had found a stick and she was sharpening it into a spear as we walked.

After walking for almost one hour Cleo said "We are here. The Winterroot plant should be around here. Look for a small plant with green leaves and red edges. It says here that without the red edges, plant is not very potent "

Cleo told us the description of the planted and we started searching. We didn't go too far away from each other incase we needed help.

Turek was the first to find the plant and he called us over.

"Here, take a look at this one. It has red edge. How do we take it with us? Do we just pull it out?"

"It says to be careful when pulling it out and not break the roots as it's the most important part. While the leaves are not useless, they are much less potent."

Cleo then used her stick to dig around the plant. Soon the plants roots where exposed. Cleo carefully dug around the plant and pulled it out as delicately as possible. She put it in the bag Turek was carrying after he moved all the things from it into my bag. That bag was bigger and seemed like should be able to handle more weight while mine was quite flimsy.

We continued our search and every time we found a plant, Cleo would pull it out and put it in the bag. After half an hour, we had found 10 Winteroot plants already.

"We should get at least one more just in case. For backup. '' I was feeling a bit cautious since this was the first time we were seeing this plant. We could easily have gathered a bad plant and not know about it.

Both Turek and Cleo agreed and we kept searching. Eventually Cleo found one and called us over. After putting it in the bag, we decided to take a break. We had been out for almost 4 hours and hadn't had much to eat. We ate while walking but we never had a proper meal.

We decided to see what kind of food Alan had stored. It turned out to be really good food and was quite tasty. I had never tasted anything like it before and I certainly did not know its name. I tried some other things and they were all really good.

After eating our fill, we decided to relax for a few minutes before heading back. We decided that Turek will carry the bag of plants while I continue to carry the supplies. We wanted Cleo to be free to defend the party if we get attacked.

Just a few minutes after we set off, Cleo stopped abruptly and raised her makeshift spear. She told us to get behind her and drop the bags so we could run if needed.
