Escape

I saw an airhole. That's where the light was coming in as well. I was too busy looking at the cells that I had not noticed it before. It was not too big but it wasn't small either. I thought I might actually be able to fit through it. It was unlikely that most adults would be able to fit the small hole. Even Nina wouldn't be able to use that hole to escape. But I was different. I was small and thin. There was a good chance that I could escape from there.

There was nothing else to do but try. I walked to the hole and realized that it was at a level that I could barely reach with my arms. I looked around and found a small box. I moved it under the hole and stood up on it. I looked out of the hole and saw that it didn't lead to any kind of a steep fall. I had been worried that the whole plan would fail because there would be nowhere to go even if I did get out of that hole.

I jumped up and crawled into the hole. It was a bit angled and I started crawling up with all my strength. I had never been so scared in my life! The hole was big enough for me to crawl but that didn't mean that I was not worried about getting stuck! I used my arms to crawl since there wasn't enough space for me to use my legs . The hole was around 3 feet long but it felt like 100 to me.

Finally I crawled out of the hole and fell down on the ground. I sat there taking deep breaths to calm myself. Once I had calmed down, I started to look around to see if there were any bandits near me. I didn't see anyone so I started making my way by following the wall. I needed to find my way back but I couldn't do that unless I knew where I was relative to the entrance. I knew if I followed the wall, I would eventually get to the entrance.

Just as I thought, I soon heard to bandits talking with each other. Instead of going in their direction, I left the wall and started going down as quietly as I could. Once I thought I was far enough away, I started going parallel to the path I had to taken while coming to the bandit cave.

At one point I was not sure where I was. After all I had not followed the exact path. I started to look around to find out if I knew anything here when I saw one of the markers I had left. I sighed with relief and started following the markers with as much speed I could muster while still being silent. I didn't want to alert any bandits that might be nearby.

After climbing down for around 10 minutes I saw the campsite. Turek, Cleo and Leana were discussing something while being agitated. I could only assume that they were panicking since I had not yet returned. I climbed down and said,

"I am back"

All three looked at me with wide eyes. Turek even jumped back in fright. Cleo looked at me and sighed in relief. Then she came over to hug me. I wasn't expecting that and didn't know what to do. She was so worried about me? Then I felt her increase the force and I cried out in pain.

"Where did you go for so long? We were so worried about you! You know that this area is more dangerous than before right? You could have been killed!" Cleo asked angrily.

"I am alright Cleo. See? Nothing happened to me."

Cleo looked me up and down then asked "Why do you have scratches on your arms?"

"Ah… well about that.... Let's sit down and I will tell you what I found"
