Arrived

"What's going on? What are you carrying these people? And why this one tied up?" The guard asked while pointing at prisoner.

Leana came forward and started speaking

"Hello, my name is Leana Berian. We are adventurers from Lorel."

She pointed at Nina and Tien and said "We rescued these adventurers from bandits that had captured them yesterday. That tied up woman is one of the bandits. We brought her with us to interrogate her."

"Interrogate? Why do we need to do that? We can just go in force and destroy them!" said the guard hauntingly.

I wanted to bring up the odd things we saw but Leana continued "Well if that is the case, we would like to hand her over and collection the reward."

It seems she didn't want to antagonize the guards or make the situation more complex.

"Hmph… fine. Do as you wish. You already brought her here anyway."

It seems even if the guard seemed a bit arrogant, he wasn't dishonest. I saw that another man in guard uniform had joined us and was observing us from the back. He was taller than the haughty and seemed to be stronger of the two as well. He was calmly watching Leana talk and looked at me when I stared at him for a few moments.

"So, can we enter the city? We also want to take these two to the healing center. We haven't been able to wake them up."

"Oh OK. Sure."

"You can hand over the female prisoner to us. We will take her to the prison." The strong guard finally spoke for the first time.

Cleo seemed like she wanted to object but Leana continued "Alright, but we want to be able to collect the reward for her capture."

"Sure" The strong guard nodded.

Cleo stepped forward to hand over the female guard but Leana suddenly asked "Would it be possible for us to interrogate her? We captured her for that reason and carried her for hours. All of that would be for no reason if we don't at least get to do that."

The strong guard stared at her for a few seconds and said "As long as she is your prisoner, you can do as you wish. Once you hand her over, whether you can see her again is not up to me. Do you want to wait before handing her over?"

"Yes, I don't want all of our effort to go to waste. How about this? We will take the two adventures to the healing center. Once we drop them off, we will interrogate the bandit and hand her over afterwards. We will share all we find with you if you are interested."

"Alright. You can go in."

Leana smiled at him and took the lead. It seemed she wanted to deal with the guards herself since she was a guard. That was probably why she tried to act like she was the leader of our party. We started following Leana but to our surprise the strong guard started to come with us!

"Are you going the same way as us?" asked Leana

"Do you know where the healing center is?"

"Uh.. no but we can ask around" said Leana.

"No need. I will take you there."

He turned towards Cleo and said, "I can carry the other woman you are carrying." Since we didn't have anything to lose by doing so, Cleo handed over Nina to the strong guard.

"What is your name" I asked the guard.

The guard was quite tall, probably around 6'0 as he looked the same height as Turek. But he was very muscular and looked quite strong.

"I am called Edward." he looked down at me and replied. "Are you an adventurer as well? Aren't you a bit too young for that?"

"Yes I am an adventurer as well. I am Ren. I am 17 years old."

Edward raised on of his brows and said "Oh?"

He already knew Leana's name, so he looked at Cleo and asked "What about you miss?"

"I am Cleo, I am an adventurer as well."

"I am Turek. We are adventurers in a party. We are currently unranked but we have our badges"

"Oh… no need. I was just curious."
