Guild master

I thought we should leave before more trouble finds us. But to my surprise I saw Cleo enter through the door. Then Leana and Turek followed. In front of Cleo was a young girl who seemed to be leading them. Captain Edwards entered last.

Cleo saw me and stopped in her tracks and looked shocked. The girl in front of her had been talking with Cleo but stopped as well when Cleo stopped. She looked at Cleo and then at me when she saw that Cleo was looking at me. She frowned and started coming towards me. When Sheila saw this, she again tried to hide me behind her. She must be afraid of what the girl wanted since the girl also looked quite rich. She was dressed in a rich, if somewhat odd dress. She was also wearing a pointy hat on her head.

As the girl came closer I realized that she was actually around the same height as me. She also looked quite young. I was trying to figure out who she must be when she stopped in front of Sheila, looked at me who was partially hidden and said "You must be Ren." She then looked up Sheila and said "And you must be Sheila"

Both of us nodded our heads in confusion. How did she guess that? I had never met her before. Maybe Cleo and the others told her about us? Even then, it seemed quite difficult to guess our names like that.

Soon the others joined us. Cleo looked down at me and asked, "What are you doing here Ren? I thought you two were still at the inn."

"We decided to tour the city after we woke up."

Cleo raised her eyebrows and gave a quick look at Sheila. It seems she was reminding me that Sheila couldn't be fully trusted. Since I was the one who had brought this up, and she was the one who took it lightly, I didn't know why she brought that up. She left me with Sheila all alone too right! Why was she worried about me going out in the city with her?

The young girl suddenly said "Let go to my office. We will continue our discussion there."

She turned around and started walking up the stairs. Her office? She works here? She looks quite young for that. We followed her up. Since Sheila wouldn't leave my side, I couldn't talk with Cleo about what was happening. Soon we entered a spacious office with enough seats for all of us. I was going to sit down on the sofa when Sheila suddenly sat down and put me on her lap. She hugged me from behind. I was about to tell her to let me down but I suddenly realized that Sheila looked scared. It seems she wanted me there not to protect me but to comfort her.

"It's ok Sheila. Don't worry." I whispered in her ear.

"Mmm…"

Cleo sat next to me on the sofa along with Leana and Turek. Captain Edwards sat on a Chair close by and the young girl sat on the large chair behind the desk. She looked at me with an amused smile. After all, she was sitting in a large chair while I was sitting on a woman's lap. That made her look much older than me even though we should be around the same age.

"So Ren, why are you sitting on Sheila's lap?"

"Ah.. umm.."

"Do you like it?"

"Eh..I..."

"I am just kidding. I don't mind. There are extra seats if you want to sit there" The girl pointed at one of the empty seats.

"Oh.. ok"

"My name is Annette Magnus. I am the guild master of the Tiaanway Adventurer guild."
