Zombie Smash!

Upon following System's instructions, she was somewhat shocked when she found out the 'energy source' that System is tracking. It's a zombie! A male zombie to be exact!

She tried to be as sneaky as she can in order to not alarm the target. She might be affected by the virus, but that one is a real zombie!

She immediately froze upon seeing that the male zombie saw her. It looked at her, tilted his pale face to the right then after a few seconds, turned around and walked very slowly. It's as if she's like him!

Observing that the male zombie won't hurt her, she immediately asked System about how to absorb the energy.

"Smash his head. System detects an energy fluctuation from the head."

Lei followed System's instructions, and holding a rock as big as a fist, she attacked. The male zombie didn't even have time to retaliate. And he also didn't believe that his kind will attack him. Brain matter splattered across the forest ground and the surrounding lifeforms became the witnesses of this.

She saw blood, flesh, broken skull and brain matter scatter around the zombie's body. Wanting to stop hitting the zombie's head, she can't. System urged her to continue hitting, as System can still detect the energy inside. Her pale hands got sticky due to the mixture splattering around.

Minutes passed after System finally stopped her. A glowing gray orb is visible from the sticky liquid that scattered in the ground. Lei tried hard to bend and pick it up.

"Young lady, that is the energy source that System detected. Please do hold it while the conversion is ongoing. It will only take a few seconds."

Lei held the glowing orb in her right hand as System announced that this is the source. As System started the conversion, she can feel a cool sensation flowing past her right arm towards her head. She saw the orb lose its glow in each passing second until it dimmed. Then it disintegrated into powder.

"System, can you fix my body now?" Lei asked that gave out a roar, not minding the corpse in front of her.

"Negative. The energy from the orb is lacking. System calculated that young lady will need about a lot more of the said orb."

Hearing System's calculations, Lei can't help but be frustrated.

'What the hell?! Just one of this cost me a lot of energy! Where would I ever find a bunch of this zombies?!' Lei frustratedly thought.

"Young lady, according to System's observations on the energy in the orb, System deduced that this energy can at least last for a day. Further observations also showed that this orb can grant the element of space."

This statement of System rouse Lei's curiosity. 'Element of space? This can grant abilities?!'

"This ability can make one cut the distance of travel. For example, when using this ability, a step can be turned into a hundred meters or so, depends on how young lady wishes it ."

Hearing System's explanation, Lei was overjoyed. 'I won't need to use too much energy because of this! It's like having the ability of speed!'

"Locate the nearest city, System. I want to finish gathering energy so you can fix my body," Lei said while giving out a roar.

"Young lady, the nearest city is located 1276 meters Southwest."

And as System stated the location, Lei started to use the Space Element. Lei went thru some rivers, stopped because of trees and halted to identify the current location.

"Warning, a zombie with higher energy detected, a hundred meters away South."

System warned. Lei stopped before turning her direction towards that zombie.

'Can that zombie hasten the collection of energy, System?' Lei asked thru her thoughts. She can't risk to roar right now, because the zombie might detect her.

"Affirmative. Due to the differences in energy fluctuations, System produced a leveling system to identify the differences. This zombie is currently classified as Level 2, whereas the previous zombie is at Level 1."

"Level 1 zombies can provide 1% addition to converted energy that can last for a day. Level 2 zombies needed further analysis to provide exact results."

Hearing System's remarks, Lei became excited. 'Might as well think of this as a game and enjoy hunting my preys!'

With this thought, Lei slashed space and went to her target in no time. This time, the zombie is a female, and she attacked her immediately on sight.

But little did she know that this zombie can defend and avoided her attack. This made Lei agitated, and with her Space Element, she smashed the zombie's head.

She separated a glowing yellow orb from the sticky mixture of blood and brain matter and held it in her right hand. She let System absorb and convert the energy. After the energy is absorbed, she waited for System's remarks.

"Young lady, this orb gives the element of wind. Given the difference in the elements, System needs further test subjects to confirm System's theory. As a Level 2 zombie, it can provide energy sufficient for two days."

Hoping to get another element, Lei was disappointed. System told her that she can still absorb the energy, just that she won't be able to wield the element.

After listening to System, Lei then started to slash space and flash towards the city. She's now relying on System to examine the orbs.

A minute later, she reached the city. Tall buildings can be seen in the area. And as expected, zombies are dragging themselves around. But to Lei's eyes, this is a feast. She can finally gather enough energy!

She immediately smashed the head of the nearest zombie and got another gray orb. She kept the orb in the pocket in her blouse and then she started to smash heads again. These zombies are all Level 1 zombies.

Since Lei is busy smashing heads, she didn't realize that her stiff joints started to be flexible. System took note of this to explain to Lei later.

Lei stopped smashing heads after her 24th kill because the zombies around started to be ferocious. Its like they were angry of what Lei was doing.

She flashed herself in an empty room in the nearest building. Lei looked around and saw no one. No humans, no zombies. Just damaged appliances covered in blood and claw marks.

She picked up a brown orb front her pocket and started absorbing energy. After the process, she waited for System to state the results.
