My Sister

Aiden chat with his mother for a while and also told her the success of his new book. He then went to the playground to play with the kids.

He was surprised to see that the children were playing with another young man. The orphanage was not big nor popular and people rarely took interest in it. So they rarely have a visitor. Then he realized what his mother told him. She said that a young couple were here to make a donation.

As his eyes swept around the playground, his gaze landed on the beautiful young woman sitting on one corner. 'She must be the wife.' He thought to himself. But when he looked at her in the eyes, he feel a spark that he never felt before! She was such a beauty!

Her beautiful hazel eyes sparked as she happily watched the children playing. With a gorgeous slandered eyebrows and a cherry blossom lips, one would thought that she was a celebrity. Her facial features were sharp and defined. Her medium auburn coloured hair was blowing in the wind which covered some part of her face.

Some children came to Hazel and talked to her. She treated them all with kindness and a friendly manner. For Aiden, she was like an angel that fell from heaven! He cannot lift his eyes off of her.

What a beautiful woman! Judging by how she treated the kids, he was sure that she's a good person. His instinct tells him that only a person with beautiful heart can treat these orphans with kindness. Too bad she's married!

Aiden was buried deep in his thoughts. He didn't even know that he already stared at the woman for several minutes! He was aroused when he heard the children's voice.

"Uncle Aiden! Uncle Aiden!" The children shouted and ran to him.

Aiden glanced at the ground and the match was already concluded. "Did you have fun?" He asked the children with a bright smile. Still his gaze shifted to the beautiful woman several times.

"Yes. Come with us, Uncle Aiden." The children point at Marcus and said, "That uncle played with us. Let's say thanks to him." They pulled him and when he realized what was happening, he was only a few steps away from the woman.

Hazel take out a handkerchief from her hand bag. "Are you tired? You made quite a show." She laughed as she wipe the sweat on her brother's face.

"Will you stop laughing? I only played the game because you asked me to. You know I'm bad at this." Marcus still looked displeased due to Hazel laughing at him nonstop. But on the inside, he felt so relieved to see her laughing happily. If his poor game made her this happy, then he will gladly play many more times!

"Didn't you see the children? They really enjoyed playing with you. It was a priceless gift."

While Hazel was busy wiping her brother's face, the children came to them once again. But this time, it was with one man. Aiden really feel uncomfortable to see them together. It may be jealousy. Besides they seem to be an affectionate couple!

Hazel instantly stopped what she was doing and shifted her attention to the kids.

"Hi, kids! Did you have fun?" She asked, bending down to match their height.

"Yes, Aunty. We want to thank this uncle for playing with us." The kids said with a bright smile.

"You can call him Uncle Marcus." Hazel suggested.

"Thank you so much, Uncle Marcus!" The kids bow to Marcus politely.

Aiden eyes were still focused on the beautiful woman before him. Hazel's gaze shifted from the kids to him and just when their eyes met, Aiden was aroused once again. He smiled awkwardly and said, "I promised them to play with them today, but when I reached here, they were already playing happily. Thank you for making these children smile." He bowed as a gratitude to the duo in front of him.

"I didn't do much. All I did was playing with them. Besides I have fun too." Marcus replied with a smile. "But may I ask who you are?" He added.

"Oh! I should have introduced myself. I'm Aiden Lee. My mother is the Director of this orphanage." Aiden introduced himself. "You may be the young couple that came to make a donation. My mother recently told me about it. I would like to thank you for your generosity."

Once again, Hazel and Marcus glanced at each other and smiled.

Something came to Marcus mind. He somewhat finds this man familiar. He stared at Aiden curiously and asked, "You look familiar. Did we met before? Or perhaps are you a celebrity?"

"Uncle Aiden is a novelist. He's very popular!" The chidren proudly answered before Aiden could speak.

Marcus was dumbfounded! Aiden Lee! He was that novelist whom he highly admire! He read many of his books and he was a huge fan but he had never met him before.

"Oh my god! You're that novelist! I'm a huge fan of yours! I never expected to meet you on my first day here. I really love your works." Marcus blurted out.

Hazel too was familiar with the name because her brother had many of his books in his room. But she never take a look at those books. She prefers business management books rather than those novels. So she still remain calm unlike her brother, who lost his cool as he meet his favorite author.

"Thank you. It's always great to meet a fan. Besides you're such a kind hearted person too." Aiden said with a smile as usual.

"I only saw your picture once. So I didn't recognize you at the beginning. We didn't live here. Me and my sister just landed here in Korea yesterday." Marcus explained.

"Your sister?" Aiden asked with a curious face. He thought they were a couple.

"Yes. This is Hazel, my sister. We came from London yesterday due to some business. People always mistook us as a couple, so we stopped correcting them." Marcus laughed and looked at Hazel. The latter responded with a small smile.

The sentence 'My sister' rang a bells of hope in Aiden's heart. So she was not his wife! She was his sister! At the same moment, he made up his mind. 'I will make sure that she became mine before she became someone else's wife!'.....
