Chapter 6

Chapter Six

Valian's fist rested on the table as the other vampires settled on their seats. The threat to humans made by the other bloodlines of Gimeno, the first vampire, had caused turmoil to the on-going peace between the Severuz Vampires and the human faction.

Thyan Venzon, Valian's right hand, placed the folder of new reports in front of him. He could already tell the folder contained more problems, considering the look on Thyan's face. His right hand usually looks cool and carefree, that's why he knew there's something going terribly wrong…again.

He straightened on his seat and intertwined his fingers as he wandered across the familiar faces of his Vampire council. Unfortunately, due to his brother's subordination, he had him excluded from the meeting until Yvann finally make the right thing concerning his new human blood bag.

"I heard there was another attack in the outskirt of Aslan. Have you already found out who's behind it?" Valian gazed at Thyan.

Thyan motioned his hand. His dark brows furrowed. "Night time attack. Savagely done. Probably the Ormants."

Sigfird's brow cocked. "Probably?"

Thyan let out a dramatic sigh before he placed his hands on the table. "We got no enough evidence yet. However, the Ephisans claimed none of their Vampires had ever been to that place."

"The Ormants are the weakest bloodline. I don't think they'd make such blunt move." Lewis concluded, removing his thick glasses.

The discussion continued while Valian remained silent, thinking of the other attacks that had happened in the past months. They had to find whoever was behind the killings before the human faction withdrew the agreement. Valian didn't work hard to settle things with the human supernatural affairs council just to have things messed up by an anonymous killer. In the eyes of the humans, vampires were all the same even if they're not.

There were three bloodlines responsible for the existence of the Vampires. When the first Vampire was created out of a witch's jealousy and selfish love towards him, his first three victims became the three head vampires of their faction. Garrison, having the first bite of the original Vampire, acquired eighty percent of Gimeno's ability—the immense amount of strength, agility, power, and a whole lot more. Ephisan was the second victim who had possessed half of his vampire traits while Ormant was the last who only got one-fourth of what Gimeno had for being a vampire.

The Severuz Vampires came from Garrison's bloodline. They were the strongest clan of vampires next to the original. The fastest and the most powerful. They can resist sunlight, however, their curse made them ashamed of standing under the sun since the God who had given the power to Lira—the witch responsible why Gimeno became a vampire—was Apollo. She had broken Apollo's ultimate law, making her creation an abomination in Apollo's eyes.

Some of the conspiracy theory about them was because of the savage members of other clans. The Ormants were the only vampires who cannot resist direct sunlight, although they don't really get burned. It just weaken them and causes their skin extreme damage. Silver cannot kill any of the vampires, but taking their heart out could however, it was true that silver could cause severe damage to their body just like how it could to the Lycans.

"What about the lycans? They can be behind this, too." Sigfrid suggested, eyeing Thyan.

The two had been having enough fights since last year because of Sigfrid's temper and Thyan's liberated attitude. Nevertheless, Valian trusted Thyan more than anyone. He was just thirteen when Valian saved him from the ferociously dangerous waters of great falls. Sigfrid, on the other hand, had tremendous memories about Thyan's original kind. Their parents and two older siblings were killed by savage omegas and Yvann's father rescued them along with Cassandra Rose. He and his younger sibling were taken to Severuz for shelter until they're ready to go back to the human faction.

But Yvann had Serena as his human blood bag…and Serena willingly agreed to what he had wanted. The two had fallen in love, yet their affection had gone too far and the young love they had was destroyed by the same thing that had pulled them together.

Thyan's expression darkened. He knew Sigfrid was trying to get into his nerves again, given the fact that Valian just turned him into a Vampire but he was still born a lycan. His fist balled and his jaw clenched in a dangerous manner. "The lycans have nothing to do with this. If they did, I'd surely know instantly. My brothers are Zion's Betas."

Sigfrid cocked his brow mockingly. "Really? Then why are you here?"

Finally losing his patience, Thyan slammed his hand on the table before he got on his feet. His furious eyes shot Sigfrid who was looking at him with the same intensity. "Because I earned my spot here. What about you? Didn't Yvann just pick you to be here because of his fucking guilt over what he had done to your sister?"

The two finally lost their tempers and before Valian could even snap his fingers to stop them, Sigfrid was already blowing punches on Thyan's chest. Unfortunately, Thyan was one hell of a bad-ass just like his brothers. With just one kick, Sigfrid was already on the other side of the room, the side of the wall he hit almost crumbled down.

Valian slammed his hands on the table. "Enough, will yah?! We're here to fix the problems not to have more!"

Thyan's chest rise and fall with his every breath, so as Sigfrid. If it wasn't just for Valian, they wouldn't mind destroying each other in front of everyone. The two settled back to their seats, Valian eyeing them with so much disappointment before he went back to his chair.

He raked his palm on his face before resting his back against his seat. "I want the info's tomorrow. Whatever is happening nor whoever is behind this, we're still the one responsible for everything in the human faction's eyes. Do you understand the risk we are getting ourselves into just to maintain the peace in this fucking place?"

None of them answered, but Valian knew they understood his point. His head fell back and a heavy sigh left his lips before the door swung open and his brother's most trusted man walked in, breathing heavily.

Crane tried to calm his chest before he focused his gaze at Valian.

"Yvann's doing a killing spree outside the town…"

Pulling his hand out from one of the militaries' chest, Yvann watched his brother walk towards him with so much fury in his eyes, like a storm that ready to destroy him. The strands of Valian's pools were intense gold and scarlet, displaying the power he possessed that Yvann was still envying up until now.

He never understood how nor why. They're both children of Cassandra Rose Coulson and Vance Devonaire. A pureblood lycan and a royal vampire. He and Valian supposed to be the first hybrids, but his lycan side was dormant when he was born, unlike his older brother who had shown the power of the two types of blood running in his veins when he reached ten.

Yvann wanted that power, too. He wanted to be superior. To be unstoppable. And with all the shitty agreements his brother was doing with the humans, his hunger to be like him became stronger. He thought Valian was too weak for the power he possessed…just because he chose peace. He chose to be noble. He chose to love those who were way weaker compared to them. Yvann used to love them, too. Not until Serena left him, and his mum died in the hands of the humans his brother was trying to be friends with.

"Ah, my brother and his pack of cute little puppies. Came to feed from my victims?" Yvann spread his arms as if he's trying to show the dead bodies around him while a sardonic smile was plastered on his bloody face.

Valian's fists clenched, so as his jaw. The intensity in his eyes could scare anyone who would look at it, but not his stubborn little brother. Not Castiel Yvann. The self-proclaimed rightful ruler of Severuz.

"You're making things worse for me, Yvann." Valian tried to restrain himself, regardless of how much he wanted to punch his brother due to his childish acts and violent treatment to the humans.

A menacing laughter left Yvann's lips before he placed his bloody hands on his hips. "Oh, did I? Great, great. Coz uh," he smiled widely, trying to push his brother to his limits. "that's what I'm really tryin' to do here."

Feeling his veins pulsating with uncontainable anger, Valian gritted his teeth and shot his brother a deadly glare before he glanced at Crane. "You didn't come to me to call for help, did you? You barged in the council's meeting so my fucking brother could piss me off."

Crane whistled before he raised both of his hands in the air. "I just did what I thought was best, Senyor." He noted. His lips pressed together trying to suppress his laughter.

These two were really pushing Valian to his limits. He no longer knew what to do with Yvann, yet he knew their mum would hate to see them fighting. He's always torn between being his considerate older brother and being the strict and disciplined ruler of Severuz they expected him to be. If only his younger brother knew how hard it was to juggle things, but of course, he knew Yvann pretty well. Once he gives up on something, he's can no longer be forced again to find his passion towards it. He had already given up on the humans and the rest of the people around him, not because they had let him down, but because he got scared to get hurt and be disappointed again.

Gazing back at Yvann, he let out a heavy sigh before he took a step forward until Yvann was just a foot away from him. "Why the hell are you doing this in the first place? Was it still because dad chose me?"

Yvann smirked but the irritation he felt with Valian's last words showed in his eyes. "Your dogs took a bite on my blood bag."

"That's it? That's just your fucking reason?" Valian clenched his fists, restraining himself from hurting his own brother.

Yvann arched his brow. "Uh, yeah." He raked his bloody fingers on his tousled hair. "And uh, to show you I don't really give a damn about your lame rules. So next time you'll let your pups get their fangs on my blood bag, make sure the graves for your human friends are ready…coz I'm craving to kill more."

Valian finally lost control of himself. He held Yvann on the collar of his polo while he was gritting his teeth with fury. "Don't fool me, you moron! You fucking broke my rules to show me how much you hate me coz you still blame me for everything!" He threw his brother to the ground and gave his chest a blow before he held his collar again. His eye color went more intense, and the veins in his neck pulsated with so much anger. "That's why dad didn't choose you in the first place. You are so much of a coward to take responsibility of your mistakes. You've lost Serena because you're nothing but a selfish narcissist who doesn't know how to love!"

Yvann's gaze narrowed. He held his brother on his wrists before he threw him a few meters away. His shoulders went up and down heavily with his every breath, but his intense scarlet eyes remained staring at his brother. God knows how much he wanted to end his life right here, right now, but he knew their mum wouldn't like it. If it wasn't just because of mum…

He clenched his fists and released a heavy sigh. "So much of a coward? Huh." He flashed his insulting smirk before he scanned his brother from head to toe. "Touch my blood bag again, I'll show you who you're calling a coward."

He cracked his knuckles as he shot Valian with a deadly gaze. "In case you've already forgotten, you owe me your life, fucker."
