New Home

Yin XinYi woke up at the same time as she had yesterday, at 8 am. Her appointment was at 10 am in the morning which means she had an hour to get ready in order to leave at 9. In the big city, it was better to have extra time prepared in case of traffic. It was only a thirty minute drive but Yin XinYi wanted to be ready for any possibilities that may cause her to be late.

She put on a simple white blouse and a long navy skirt with tan heels. The blouse was tucked into her skirt that reached her ankles. It showed off her heels. She put her documents, phone, and wallet into purse. Then, she utilized the hotel's chauffeur service. She called the front desk using the hotel's telephone, requesting for a driver for the day and a lowkey luxury car. She didn't want too much attention on her.

She once again ordered breakfast and housekeeping brought it up. It was a simple eggs and sausage with toast plus a side of tea. Yin XinYi had a sweet tooth so she added three sugar cubes into her tea without shame. It was an over medium egg which meant that the egg yolk was still runny but the egg whites were firm. Yin XinYi ate the food with relish.

After she finished, housekeeping bought it away and Yin XinYi walked out of the front door of the hotel to where the driver was waiting for her. The hotel had informed her that her car was black and that her driver would be waiting for her at her requested time.

There was only one black car parked at the front door. A driver in his uniform stood by the back door. Yin XinYi walked towards him.

"Miss Yin?" he asked, the foriegn name rolling off his tongue.

"Yes. Miss Madison will do. And you are?" she asked of him.

"Thomas, ma'm," he nodded as he opened the car door for her. Yin XinYi got in and he closed the door. He went around to his side of the car, the driver's seat. "Where to, Miss Madison?"

Yin XinYi told him the address of her appointment. Thomas started driving. The entire car ride, it was silent except for the sound of traffic, however, it wasn't awkward. Thomas pulled up to the building in which Yin XinYi had given the address to.

Thanking him, and telling Thomas to wait for her, she entered into the building and walked up to the receptionist.

"Hello, how may I help you," greeted the young man at the desk.

"Hello, I'm here for an appointment at 10, for Yin XinYi."

"Yes, here it is! Please head up to the third floor, room 305. I'll inform him of your presence."

XinYi nodded and walked to the elevator. She pressed the up key and waited.

Ding!

The elevator doors opened. There was no one on it. Yin XinYi walked into the elevator. It had mirrored walls and a simple hardwood floor. Yin XinYi looked for the control panel. She found it and clicked on the third floor. The doors closed and the elevator started to ascend. It was silent in the elevator. Yin XinYi preferred it that way. No elevator music to give her a headache.

The elevator went straight up with no stops in between floors. It stopped on the third floor and Yin XinYi walked out. Three hallways branched off from where Yin XinYi stood. One in front, and one on either side of her with the elevator facing her back.

Luckily, at the beginning of each hallway, there were small signs. She read them. The hallway in front of her hosted rooms 300-305, the hallway on the left hosted rooms 306-310, while the right hallway hosted rooms 311-315.

Yin XinYi needed the room 305, therefore she walked into the hallway facing her front. She continued to walk until she made it to room 305. The room was at the end of the hallway before the hallway split into two. She assumed it led into the other hallways.

Standing in front of room 305, she knocked on the door. The door was quickly opened by a rather young man.

"Miss Yin?" He asked.

"Madison will do," she replied.

"Welcome Miss Madison. I'm Mr. Allen and I'll be attending to you today," Smiling, he guided her into his office.

His office was tastefully decorated. It wasn't very colorful but gave off a comfortable feeling. The windows let in lots of light and gave a beautiful view of the city.

Yin XinYi sat down in one of the only colorful things in his office, his chairs. Mr. Allen sat in front of her, in his desk. He grabbed a file on his desk and opened it.

"Today you are buying the apartment?"

"Yes."

"Miss Madison, we offer some services for the apartment. Do you wish to hear of them?" Mr. Allen asked of her.

"Yes," she affirmed.

"Our company, to offer the best customer service, has entered a collaboration. We now offer to fully furnished your apartment. Of course, there will be fees. Are you interested, Miss Madison?"

Yin XinYi was quite pleased. It saved her the hassle of buying furniture and hiring movers. "Yes. I'm quite interested."

Mr. Allen passed her a tablet. On the screen was the layout of her future apartment. She could place any furniture and decorations as she wished in the layout.

"Please choose the furniture and place it down where you wish."

Yin XinYi nodded and started to virtually decorate her future apartment. Both she and Mr. Allen sat in silence for ten minutes. The only sound in the room was the tapping of fingers on a screen.

Finally, Yin XinYi looked up and passed the tablet back. "I'm finished. I wish to pay now."

"Of course," Mr. Allen grabbed papers from his file. "The extra services will add an extra two million dollars and including tax, your total will be $81.3 million. What will be your method of paying, ma'am?"

Yin XinYi evaluated the man in front of her. Although he was young, he was skilled. His age didn't bother her. It either meant two things. He had skills or he had connections which allowed him to come through the back door. At a real estate company this prestigious, his connections had to be powerful.

However, Yin XinYi believed that he got his position from his skills. He managed to assume correctly that she would be paying in full today but left her leeway in case she planned to receive a loan. He was very careful to not make her uncomfortable.

"Debit card. I'll be paying in full," she replied.

He quickly went through the paperwork before requesting for identification. Yin XinYi handed him her documents and signed all the papers required. Finally, her card was charged.

"All done! Thank you for your patronage. Your apartment will be ready in a week! I shall contact you by email for our next appointment."

She nodded and left the building. It was time for her shopping spree.
