Prologue Part 2

After he talked with Kate, Arthur left to go buy some groceries.

He bought some beef, noodles, and stuff to make a sauce. He also grabbed some drinks. 'Tonight is spaghetti.' He thought to himself.

After paying at the checkout, he drove home and was greeted by Gabriel. "What are you doing here?" He asked as he opened his apartment door.

Gabriel followed him inside with a suitcase. "I thought for this raid, I'd come over. We still need to setup my fortress in the Forest of Memories."

Arthur yawned. "Spaghetti good for you then?"

After agreeing, Gabriel set up his computer in the apartment's living room. After they ate, they both booted up and logged in. The world had made some advancements in Virtual Reality technology, but not enough to be a second life.

That's why Arthur chose to work at X-Tech. Their goal is a seamless full dive virtual experience. After seeing Arthur's abilities, they thought it'd be a waste to not hire him.

Gabriel walked into the guild hall as his character. GreatDemon. He walked in and saw a female elf mage clad in a blue robe with long silver hair, a human male with bulky crusader armor, a sword and a shield. This was Drew: TheDominator and Kate: SilverDragon.

GreatDemon: Hello everyone. Has Night not logged on yet?

TheDominator: She'll be here soon, I know it.

SilverDragon: I just want to get this over with.

A few more people showed up. A priest with purple hair, and a Druid with green hair and green eyes.

GreatPriest: How is everyone doing?

NatureGuardian: How are all of you?

Everyone talked as another player showed up. He had two short swords and a black mask that covered his face.

MaskedDemon: Hello.

Finally, Night logged on. They wore full black knight armor and a long cape with the symbol of the Nine Fallen Greats. A broken sword and shield, died red by the blood of their enemies.

Night: Let's get started. What's the plan, MD?

MaskedDemon: We each bring fifty members of our factions, and we divide those into five groups, led by the smartest among them. They will draw most of the boss' attacks as the six of us inflict the major damage on it.

While we do that, you will build up your unique skill: The Will of God. Since it takes ten minutes, I suggest the moment we enter the boss room you begin.

Night: I like it. Anyone have any objections?

Everyone stayed quiet.

Night: Good, let's tell our factions and meet up at the boss raid in thirty minutes.

They all teleported time certain places in the game. Some went to forests, while other went to caverns or cities. Night went to The Underworld.

Arthur called his faction: Followers of God's Fallen Soldier. They went to the boss room and waited for SilverDragon's to arrive. Everyone else was already there.

As he had some time, Arthur got up to get a drink he talked to Gabriel about the plan and went back to his computer. The Followers of the Fallen Mage had arrived.

Night: Let's do this.

They pushed open the boss room and the fight begun. Five minutes in, one of the players that were broadcasting blew up with hundreds of thousands of viewers.

CatTamer: WOW! Can The NFG really beat this with such little numbers?

NFGCultist: Of course they can! They have the unique Fallen Angel Night with them!

BrokenPetal: I don't see it. I'll watch to have my mind blown.

There were so many people talking in the chat, that it actually almost got disabled.

Finally, half of the faction players died, but the other half pulled back at the ten minute mark.

The player broadcasting turned to Night, seeing her raise her longsword. The blade shone with light and darkness as she charged at the boss with 25% health left.

The boss screeched and imploded, sending light across the room as the doors opened wide, revealing a large reward chamber.

Server Announcement: Nine Fallen Greats has beaten The One Eyed King, Ragnarök.

Night walked over to the player broadcasting.

Night: Everyone, I have an announcement to make. Nine Fallen Greats is being disbanded, effective in two days. Thank you everyone who has followed us on this great path and I hope we will meet again.

Night and the others split the rewards, before night split her rewards among everyone present.

Night: Everyone, it had been a blast playing this game with you, but I need to move on. I will be passing in my unique skill to TheDominator, effective immediately.

Night passed on The Will of God and waved a final goodbye to everyone.

Night: I truly hope in the future, I can help make this world a real second reality!

She hit the delete character button, ending the story of The Nine Fallen Greats.

Gabriel ran into Arthur's room. "What the hell, dude?!? What'd you do that for?"

Arthur yawned. "I'm going to be working on a secret project at X-Tech starting tomorrow. I'm going to put all my time into it."

Gabriel sighed. "You were a legend, Night. You will always be remembered." A tear could be seen going down his face.

Arthur laughed. "Was it really that important."

Gabriel nodded. "I'm gonna go to sleep on your couch. Goodnight."

"Goodnight."

'What the hell? Why do I keep hearing a voice? Summoning Process?' Arthur shrugged it off again as he turned off his computer and went to sleep. He woke up at 4 am with a burning sensation in his chest. 'What the hell?' It wasn't going away, so he grabbed his car keys and headed for the hospital. He didn't wake Gabriel. The city was beautiful at night.

It was like a light festival that never stopped. He was close to the hospital when a speeding car hit the driver side of his, nearly killing him.
