CHAPTER 3 LEVEL UP

Lou Yan let out a battlecry, the muscle on his arms swells, he raises his big ax jump off the tree and smashes it on the boar's head.

*Pwak* its head burst but it is still alive, it shakes its head vigorously and throws Lou Yan off.

Lou Yan is thrown off and breaks 2 small trees before stopping.

"Damn! It is still alive! What a great vitality!" He curses loudly.

While Shadow was worrying that the prey would escape, a blur suddenly came and bit the boar's hind leg.

The boar trips down with a thud, the blur was none other than Glutton.

"Lets kill it! Glutton, take the ax out of the boar's eye and return it to Lou Yan, Ban, prepare to engage with your spear."

"This small damage will not stop me" Lou Yan stands up, even though, he is acting that he is okay, that throw still gives him quite a damage.

Glutton bites the handle of the ax and jumps off the boar, he throws it in front of Lou Yan.

The boar lets out another screech because of the excruciating pain.

The boar wants to escape but Shadow teleports next to its other leg and slashes it. Now the boar is unable to properly stand.

"Thanks, Glutton, I will give you an extra portion of our hunt later." Shadow smiles and rubs Glutton's head.

Seeing such an opportunity, Fatty quickly grabs his spear and roars. "Beast, Face my spear!"

After five minutes passes by, the boar finally dies because of excessive blood loss, its body is full of wounds, there were holes, slashes, scratches, and bite marks on it.

"Now, let us eat! We can only carry at most fifty kilogrammes of it, Lou Yan and I will carry fifteen kilos, while, ten kilos for Ban and Glutton."

They look at the huge boar, looking at its giant body, It is at least two hundred or so kilos, Since, they do not want to waste such a precious resource, they immediately start cooking it, even though, Shadow is thinner compared to Lou Yan and Ban but he can eat a lot more than the 2 of them.

There is also Glutton, just like his name, his appetite is truly shocking, he manages to finish the remaining meat that trio are unable to finish.

After they finish eating, Shadow lets Killer devour the remaining essence left on the boar's body.

They skin the boar and take its hide, the three are planning to make it into leather armors, after all, Its species is considered famous for their tough hides.

After seeing the spoils are all collected, they return to their village.

Shadow looks at Glutton, it looks a little fidgety, he knows that his comrade will level up, even him, feels that he will also level up, his body is red because of the energy, Lou Yan and Ban are also turning red.

When they return back to the village, all three of them keep training to assimilate the energy in their body, while, Glutton just sleeps in the corner, beasts are different from humans, they do not need to train to assimilate energy, it is inborn to them.

BOOM! Just as Shadow is practicing basic swordsmanship, the energy finally fully fuses with his body and he breaks through NORMAL LEVEL 7.

After leveling up, Shadow slumps into the floor, but after resting for a couple of seconds, he stands again, even though, he is exhausted and sweaty, he forces his body to walk to his bed, he does not even take a shower, the soreness of his body is torturing him.

Morning came, Shadow visited the pond again, he always stays here to think about his life or to train with Ban and Lou Yan.

He waits for them, while, executing some basic sword moves, he immerses himself in his practice, Ban and Lou Yan arrive with sweaty faces, shouting "Shadow/Aniki! Something big has happened! Your grandpa/chief is calling you."

Shadow's expression changes, he runs with a speed only a little slower compared to Glutton.

He arrives in the center of the village, there is a huge crowd in front, they seem to be discussing something while pointing at the platform.

Shadow tried to see what was happening but the crowd was just too dense, so, he jumped and accelerated to the platform.

When he got to the platform, he saw his grandpa talking to a bunch of people, he was frowning while talking, it seemed so serious, this piqued his curiosity, he lets out a cough to make them notice his presence.

"Oh, Shadow, you came! let me introduce you to our new people, they will be living here starting today." His grandfather immediately beams.

"New residents, Where did they come from?" This is quite strange, in this chaotic world, population is extremely important.

"They came from a Village called Randolf Village, unlike ours, it is a proper village."

Shadow nodded, to become a proper village it needs at least a hundred residents.

"So, if they came from a proper village, why did they leave?" This becomes stranger to him.

"Well, because of the new village chief, the village chief's name is Randolf, that is why their village is called Randolf Village, before, it was called Breeze Village." His grandfather explains.

Shadow listens carefully, he is now appointed as the new village chief, he must be careful for any nearby territory.

"The new village chief is the brother of the old village chief but their personalities are totally different."

"Randolf is overly ambitious, he is also very arrogant and licentious, when he obtained the authority of the village, he made various reforms."

His grandfather is looking at him with a serious expression, it seems that he does not want him to follow the same path.

Shadow can already envision the outcome, the situation of the village is unstable, many were dissatisfied with how the village chief acted, not many are loyal enough to fight.

"Then, the nightmare started from there, both sides suffered losses but the humans were on the losing sides, many of them fled from the village and are now wandering around the forest, searching for a new residency to live." After his last words, he sighs.

The lives of most populace of this world are often dictated by those that are ruling their territory.

"Grandpa, this is also a chance for us! If we can gather the other wandering villagers, we can finally promote our village into a Basic Village!" Shadow is extremely excited, this has been something he was having a headache to accomplish.

When he said this, his Grandpa trembled, all this time, he wanted to create a proper village, now that there was a chance! He might be able to watch this old village finally becomes a proper village.

"Right! You are spot on! Now that we have new villagers, a total of twenty seven, adding to our residents, there are sixty two, we only need a few more people to rank up into a proper village."
