CHAPTER 39 APE

A month has passed, and the number of Conquerer Gang members has increased from 4 to 13. They recruited nine new members, consisting of Dargon old friends, orphans that Shadow saw promising, and slaves. There were exactly two orphans and four slaves; the rest are Dargon old friends.

Shadow was surprised by Dargon's old friends; they were a tough bunch, and what's more, they also swore allegiance to Shadow.

Shadow was bewildered, asked why, and was surprised by the revelation that the City Lord also used their village as a sacrifice to strengthen their pets. It seems that they are indignant about it.

Shadow looks at the furious bunch and suddenly has an idea, which is to spread information about the wicked practices of the City Lord family.

Shadow then brought Peach and had her release the information to all the Dragon City subsidiary towns and villages. The effect of the news was very great; the surrounding towns and villages were no longer loyal to the Dragon City lord and his family, while the nobles were trying to show their worth so that the chances of them being elected as the new city lord increased.

Shadow watch as the nobles were scrambling for power while the city lord was justifying themselves.

Shadow thought that rumours could not bring the situation to the extreme, so he also told Peach to gather some more information about the wicked deeds that the City Lord family did and spread it.

After that, Shadow again entered a period of rest; he only trained the orphans and slaves, while Dargon and his buddy would recruit some dependable hunters.

Another month came by, and Shadow's gang was already a low-ranking gang with 29 members: 3 B-Rank, 8 C-Rank, 2 D-Rank, 5 E-Rank, 10 F-Rank, and 1 A-Rank, which is Shadow.

Shadow was also satisfied with his members because all of them are dependable, and all of them swore loyalty to Shadow.

When Shadow woke up, he was just about to wash up. Someone knocked on the door, and Shadow was suspicious. Which person visited this apartment so early?

When Shadow opened the door, he was surprised to see Venom. He was carrying Peach and seemed badly wounded. Shadow's expression changed, and he let Venom in after getting inside. Venom immediately fainted. Shadow checked their condition. Peach wounds are not as grave as Venom's.

Shadow bandaged them, picked them up, and put them on the bed. He then told Glutton to stay and guard the two while Shadow went on a mission so that the enemies wouldn't suspect him.

Shadow then brought Dorothy and Arian with him and picked an A-Rank mission for him.

Shadow then brought Dorothy and Arian with him and told them to work together to hunt the disease hyenas and the three-eyed savage boar.

Shadow then directly goes to the Savage Ape Lair. When he arrives there, he sees a three-metre-tall ape punching a thick three, and it seems like it is practicing boxing.

Shadow got amused by it, so he scanned the ape stat.

Shadow decided to contract this beast, and with its ability to practice martial arts, it will definitely become powerful in the future.

"Hey gorilla, what about having a match with me?" The gorilla stops what it's been doing and looks at Shadow.

Shadow then mocked it using gestures. The ape let out a furious snarl and charged towards Shadow.

Shadow jumps off the tree and hops to the apes head. The ape suddenly stops and punches Shadow.

Shadow nimbly dodged the attack, but another fist was thrown. Finally, Shadow's expression changed. He used [Advance Wind Dash] to lessen the gap between them. The ape seemed experienced, and back while using his fist to attack Shadow.

Shadow uses his body movement skill together with [Advance Wind Dash] to dodge retaliation, but it does no damage to the ape with its [Steel Body]. It has a frightening defence.

Shadow was left with no choice but to unsheath Killer. He then used Killer's sharpness to inflict wounds on the ape. He also used Hydro Blast to attack the ape from time to time.

Now that the ape was drenched in water, its fire-induced attack was greatly weakened. Now Shadow can get closer to it.

Shadow then charges to it. The ape opens its mouth and lets out a stream of fire from its mouth. Shadow quickly stops and also uses [Hydro Blast].

The two attacks met, and an explosion occurred. Fog and steam were produced, and Shadow knitted his brow but still charged into the mist.

When Shadow entered the mist, his vision was greatly affected. He suddenly felt an attack coming right at him. Shadow dodged it, but suddenly a flurry of rain came down towards Shadow. Even though some of them were off marks, some of them nearly hit Shadow. If he wasn't fast enough, those hits could have broken a bone or two.

Shadow got angry and retreated. After getting a safe distance, he took a stance while also charging his [Advance Wind Dash] move.

'Shadow secret move: Heaven Flashing Slash'

*Shing* When Shadow moved, he was so fast that he cut a line towards the mist into the back of the Steel Body Martial Ape.

Shadow then lay on the ground. The secret move uses all of his energy into one fast attack; it could even gravely injure a transcending gold level (the level between the Xiantian realm and the gold level).

The ape seems to be just standing, but a second later, a clear sword mark ran across its shoulder to its upper hip. The ape fell flat, and blood was gushing out of its wounds.
