CHAPTER 48 HORNETS
Shadow left Scarlet in the village. He found out that the Flower Scent Village is a village that was built by the city lord to take care of a type of flower that was used to trade with the elves. He got curious about it and decided to see one to find out what was so special about it.
He arrived at the mountain near the village and saw many hornets buzzing about; underneath them was a sea of beautiful flowers. Shadow scanned both the hornets and the flowers.

EFFECT: The fragrance has a calming effect that can turn wild beasts docile.
Reminder: This flower can attract beasts miles away when they are in full bloom. Beware, this flower can calm beasts but has little effect on insect-type beasts.
Shadow found out why the hornets made this mountain their territory because of the Fragrant Pink Flower.
Shadow then saw Vixen catch a whiff of the fragrance. Other than liking the smell, it didn't produce any other effect, so Shadow deduced that the fragrance only works on low-level and grade beasts.
Shadow then advanced deeper on the hornets territory. He saw many hornets varying in size and level; he even saw BRONZE LEVEL ones, but not one higher level than that, so he kept advancing. The hornets were not alerted to his presence because of Vixen using illusion on them.
The nearer he got to the hive, the bigger the hornets he found. He now saw some silver-level ones. When he arrived at the hive, he was so shocked by the size of it; it was as huge as a house. There were many hornets coming out and entering in Shadow. He then ordered Vixen to use [Advance Illusion] together with [Advance Soul Attack] to delude the hornets and leisurely came inside the hive.
When he got inside, he saw many hornets feeding the hornet larvae. He kept walking into the innermost part of the hive, and when he got there, he saw many giant hornets the size of a dog guarding a beautiful-looking hornet.

Shadow got serious, seeing the queen's status, and told Vixen to use [Advance Illusion] and [Advance Soul Attack] to attack the queen's guard.
Vixen immediately used her combo move to the hornet guard, but when the guards got caught up in the Vixen attack, the queen let out a screech, waking the hornet guards that were caught up by the Vixen attack.
After waking up, they immediately started to attack Shadow and Vixen. "Vixen, I'll leave the queen to you; leave the guards to me." He then charged towards the hornet guards.
Shadow slashed one of the guards, splitting it into two, even though they have an innate ability of [tough carapace]. Killer sharpness was at a new level. Shadow kept slashing each and every slash that would slice a hornet guard.
In the Vixen situation, the queen and her were firing their attacks at each other; they were so fast that they only left blurry images and afterimages. It was a battle of speed and accuracy; the battle was a stalemate.
Shadow was still killing the hornet guards easily, even though the number of hornets killed was at least 30 until no hornet guard was left.
Shadow then looks at Vixen and the hornet queen. Flashes of fire and needles were seen. Shadow then saw Vixen and the queen stopping. The queen seems very disoriented. Shadow then uses [Chaos Slash] to split the hornet queen into two.
The hornets in the hive seem agitated; it seems that they felt the death of their queen.
"Vixen, let's return." Shadow then blasted a hole in the hive and left with Vixen.
When they returned to the village, he told the village chief that he had already killed the queen and all the gold-level hornets; the only ones left were the silver-level and normal-level hornets. He then told the chief to gather the bronze-level and higher-level warriors in the village. He then brought Scarlet to kill all the hornets.
Shadow then went on a hunting spree for silver-level hornets while he left Vixen guarding Scarlet. He just let the normal-level hornets be his practice partner for Scarlet.
After a couple of minutes, Shadow killed all the silver-level hornets. When he returned to where Scarlet was, he saw many villagers killing the hornets; all of them were bronze-level. They were all the warriors in the village. Shadow just sat there watching Scarlet fight.
"Scarlet, hunt some bronze-level ones also." Shadow saw that the hornets have a very weak defence; one slash was all they could take to kill them, so he let Scarlet fight at a higher stage level than her.
After fighting for countless hours, Scarlet and the villagers killed all the hornets inhabiting the mountain. Shadow then brought Scarlet and Vixen in for another 3 days of relaxation. Then, going on the last mission, they travelled to Belli Town. They spent 2 days travelling. When Shadow arrived there, the first thing he did was go to the town chief residence.
When he got there, they were welcomed by the town chief grandson. He brought them into the study room, where a middle-aged man was sitting behind the desk.
"Strong warriors, please be seated. Let me introduce myself to you. My name is Ryan Belli, the 3rd town chief of Belli Town."
