CHAPTER 124 THE EXPLOSION
Even though Shadow is rapidly improving in terms of combat sense, he is still at a disadvantage. The Centaur commander is ten times stronger and more efficient than him in terms of long-range attacks and fighting style.
Unless he can reach him and lock him down, defeating him is impossible. His breathing becomes laboured, and seeing this, the eyes of his opponent light up.
[Blink] He reappears beside him, startling the centaur commander. The latter snorts, attacks him with his bow, and retreats using [acceleration]. Even after seeing his opponent's current condition, he is still fighting with such cautious behaviour.

Shadow teleports once again, decreasing the distance between them, but his is instantaneous while his opponent can last for a couple of seconds.
[Copy: Vixen (Acceleration)] With one more push, he decreases the distance between the two of them once again. Seeing this, the centaur commander inwardly curses his luck.
He knows that his opponent is rapidly improving as their fight goes on; if he ever fights him in close quarters, he knows that his transformation will not last long and he will be the first one to be exhausted by the two of them.
"B*stard!" He curses loudly. He then shoots a couple of arrows, hoping that this will stop his opponent and give him some opportunity to distance himself.
Shadow is no longer using a shield; with a thought, he creates two swords out of thin air and smoothly waves them, redirecting the path of the arrows while still continuing his pursuit.
"Where do you think you are going?" With nothing blocking him anymore, Shadow reaches his opponent, and the two of them punch each other. Unfortunately, the Centaur commander is no longer at the same level as him.
BAM! He kicks the face of his opponent, and he then follows it with a punch. The bodies of the centaurs might be suited for war, but in an individual fight with an opponent as strong as them, they are on the weaker side. Their upper bodies might have the capability of a human, but the fact that their lower bodies are those of a stead makes it difficult for them to fight proficiently in hand-to-hand combat.
BAM! BAM! BAM! The centaur commander receives multiple successful blows from Shadow; his attack would be used against him; the golden glow around his body starts to disappear; and upon realising that his situation is at a dead end, his eyes radiate intense madness.
Without fear, he tries to hug Shadow; the latter frowns and jumps up, avoiding the seemingly foolish move. He then spins and kicks his face.
The centaur commander's golden glow gathers in his chest. He still tries to fight back, but each punch that Shadow dishes out is deadly. Without the protection of his bloodline, he is weaker than him.
"Die!" Shadow throws a punch into his opponent's head, but his form suddenly disperses, startling both of them. Both quickly react, and without hesitation, Shadow continues his attack. The centaur commander is prepared to take the blow, and a vicious light flashes in his eyes.
CRACK! The attack seems to have cracked the skull of the Centaur commander, but he does not care; he hugs his target, and his entire body glows in an extremely bright light.
Shadow is stunned. He tries to escape, but his opponent is hugging him so tightly. This move seems to be something that his life depends on.
'Fortunately,' this thought flashes in Shadow's mind; he disappears from the hands of his opponent and reappears at a certain distance.
[Copy: Vixen (Blink)]
He can use this move three times with the help of his skill [Copy]. He had to wait for a certain short period to use them all at the same time once again, but earlier, what he had used was just Vixen's [acceleration].
He saves this move just in case his opponent escapes once again, but to think that he would use it for another purpose surprised even him.
BOOM! Even after getting away, the explosion caused by the Centaur commander's self-destructive move affects him; the aftershock throws him away, and without the protection of his [World Transformation Form], an attack with divinity on them easily injures him.
He is lucky compared to the poor souls nearby; such an attack instantly killed them; in fact, even Ban and Vixen, who are much farther away, had to brace themselves for the incoming impact. All the human soldiers retreated after hearing the command from their officer.
But even with such a quick reaction, they are unable to escape the blast radius; they can only try to survive the impact; many of them were blown away. Ban has to call all of his partners in order to protect them.
