The Idiots

"I can't really remember the outline from the building plan Mr Davis showed us but let's just go....here?" Cyrus said as he pointed right.

Following Cyrus's lead, the gang encountered a white with a single blue stripe metal double door at the end of the corridor and behind it was a stairway that extended both upwards and downwards with an elevator door that was placed to the right and left of the stairwell.

"Let's take the stairs down, at least that's where we should be going...down." Timmy said after looking left and right.

The elevator was obviously a no-no for them, they could easily fall back into the hands of those silvery guards and considering what they did to the most of them, they weren't going to let them off easy- and that's if they were going to let them off in the first place.

So they all decided to take Timmy's lead and descended the stairway.

Sneakily going down the stairs, they look both ways and sight two guards standing with their backs against them. On a closer look, they realise that they've reached the ground floor which was signified with a big steel sliding door that had a one way glass film.

After Cyrus and Timmy knocked out the unsuspecting guards with a jab to their temples, Avi came across multiple cell rooms which had red laser bars with a white door behind it. Suspecting that there might be people locked inside, Avi called out to Timmy and they both try each key card to see which one opens any of the rooms.

Feeling a bit apprehensive, Penny voiced out, "Uhm...do you guys think it's okay to open just any door without knowing what's in there first? We might actually be walking into a trap, you know."

"I agree with Penny, I mean the door is right there. Shouldn't we be thinking of a way to finally escape this place?" Cy readily agreed like he always did.

Clutching a key card in her hand, Avi paused and glanced at Timmy then at Penny, " Oh my word!, I didn't even think it through." she said as he placed her palm on her forehead.

"Besides, where are the rest of those men? Aren't they supposed to be around here somewhere?" she continued as she squinted her eyes at the big one-way glass sliding door trying to see if there were any guards outside of the building and how many they were.

However, Timmy looked totally unbothered as he continued trying to open the door, "Don't worry, I don't think they'll be so stupid as to lock themselves in with such tight security, especially on the ground floor." Getting a beep-beep sound which indicates that the door has been open, he moves to another door.

"And releasing some people could actually increase our chances of leaving this place, so catching them unawares and that too with our advantage in numbers is key." He continued.

"Talking about releasing the people, why haven't any of the rooms been unlocked yet? Even after the beeping sounds?" Cyrus asked with a frown.

"Once the doors have been unlocked, it needs a total of 10 minutes before the white door opens. Then we unlock again to remove the red laser beams." Timmy said as he turned to face Cyrus.

"Oh." Cyrus said with a slight nod.

"Oh I forgot to tell you guys, while going down the stairs, I looked out the window and saw that the whole place looked dark and a bit windy, there's probably a storm brewing." He said as he moved on to another door after hearing the beep sound.

"I also saw about 6 of those men running into one of our engineering department's garages, so I'm guessing those idiots are taking shelter there. Hmph! May be they don't want to get their expensive shirts wet." Timmy sneered as he eyeballed the unconscious guards on the floor.

Garage, Engineering department.

The idiots who were currently taking shelter in the garage were standing at the entrance, their eyes focusing on the way lightning danced across the sky.

"It seems it's going to rain heavily." S1 said with a sigh after seeing another lightning bolt fork it's way through the clouds before disappearing.

"Yeah, I almost went into the laboratory to join S4 & S5 but then I remembered Mr Albert telling us not to leave the yard cause he wants us to do a big parade back to The Cube." S2 muttered.

"Hey! Do you have a death wish?! It's Dev okay! Don't ever mention the name Albert in front of Mr Dev, he'll literally kill you!" S3 yelled as he slapped S2 on the head before peeking at the men at the back.

"He can't kill me...he'll obviously tell one of you to do it for him!" S2 remarked as he rubbed the spot that S3 hit with his palm while pointing at all of them.

The whole garage became silent indicating that they all agreed with him.

"But what does he mean by a parade? Do we look like the mainland's clowns to him?", S3 reasoned.

"First he asks us to kidnap and kill people who are a "threat to The Cube" and after that, he wants a parade? What's really going on?" S1 asked with concern.

"True, and he gave us so many weapons to do that too...gasp! It's just occuring to me now, what if we really killed innocent people?" S2 said as he faced S1.

Peeking at the three muscular men who already raised an eyebrow, S3 coughed unnaturally, "*Coughs, coughs* Whatever Mr Dev's reason is, I'm just happy that this garage was open, I really didn't want to ruin my shirt." he said as he brushed off nonexistent dust off his shoulders while feeling the texture of the sleeves.

The garage was quiet again as they all tacitly agreed with S3. Even the three muscular men S6, 7 & 8 nodded and gave a slight smile while looking at their shirts.

Ground floor, Winters Lab.

After trying another keycard which failed to open the door, Timmy continued by saying, "So I believe we are safe...at least for now."

"We've also put so many of those silvery guys to a very long sleep, so unless there's a ca...", Timmy stopped what he was doing with his eyes and mouth wide open in shock.
