The excitement from finally starting my journey on the road to be an Enchanter has made my mind too restless for a deep sleep. The next morning I'm out of bed before the sun. I know that I have a few projects that I must get done.
The first thing I need to do is make some fishing rocks. I do this by taking a palm sized rock and engrave a force enchantment on it. I repeat this for a half dozen rocks. My fishing plan is to venture down to the river and find a spot where the rivers isn't very wide and fill the fishing rocks with mana until I think that the force will be strong enough and then throw the rocks at the schools of fish that I see.
If everything works out this will make fish shoot the out of the water onto the bank. All this enchanting on an empty stomach is making my hungry and my mana is getting thin in my core. A normal level one core would allow for about two enchanting symbols to be engraved before the enchanter would have to rest. My core holds ten times the amount of mana so I can engrave about twenty symbols, but I also must supply the mana for the item because I don't have any mana stones yet. In practice this means that I can engrave about ten symbols if I want to power the item.
As I start towards the river I hear.
"HELP!!!" "HELP ME PLEASE"
Coming out of the woods was a girl about my age and she is quickly followed by three big wolves. The girl shoots around me and keeping running into my cave. I pull out my water pole and send my mana into the pole. When the wolves see me, they hesitate for a second and that is all I need as I cut two of them in two pieces with ease the last was not in line with the others, so I missed. I almost get ripped to pieces, but I side stepped at the last second. My water pole makes quick work of the last wolf making him loose his head.
"Hey, come out of my house I've taken care of the wolves.": John
"Calling that a house is a bit of a stretch isn't it?"
"I know that it isn't much but insulting my living space just after I save you isn't a good first impression.": John
"Sorry, my name is Gabriella what's yours?"
"Nice to meet you. My name is John. I'm happy that I was able to help you. What were you doing way out here?": John
She finally comes out into the sun again and I can get a good look at her. The first thing that I notice is that she is short. If I had to estimate about 4 foot and a half foot. The next thing that I noticed is the pointy ears. If I had to describe her in one word it would be whimsical.
"Well I'm thankful you saved me also I was out looking after my section of the forest near my village." "This was the first time I was let out on my own." My village isn't that far from her actually and if you haven't noticed I'm a forest elf.": Gabriella
"I'm human and I'm working on becoming an enchanter.": John
"AN ENCHANTER!!!!" "I think the elders of my village would really like to meet with you!" "Can you come to my village with me?"
