Chapter 119: Pants are missing

Lu Xiangdong moved his hand on the steering wheel. He glanced at the Mercedes-Benz as it passed by and saw that Ouyang Que was in the car.

What was he doing here?

Lu Xiangdong parked next to Su Mianmian's car. He pushed the car door open, got out of the car, and walked toward the villa.

When she heard the car outside, Su Mianmian knew that he was back. She whispered to the mastiff squatting in front of her, "Shh, you stay here obediently. Don't make any noise. Now lie down and sleep."

The mastiff twitched its ears and obediently buried its head in its two front legs before lying down on his little bed to rest.

Su Mianmian heaved a sigh of relief, closed the door on the ground floor, and walked out.

Lu Xiangdong put his keys on the coffee table and looked at her. "You're still up so late?"

"I was just about to rest. Did you eat dinner?" She already knew the answer. She knew that he had dinner with Qi Chuyan, but she wanted to expose him.

"Yes, I ate a little. What did you eat tonight?" He took out a lighter and lit a cigarette.

She shrugged. "I ate out."

Lu Xiangdong saw that she was about to go upstairs. "Did you go out to eat with Ouyang Que?"

He'd seen Ouyang Que's car, it had even brushed past him. The only reason why Ouyang Que had appeared here was because of her.

Su Mianmian frowned. Had he seen Ouyang Que?

"It doesn't matter if I go out to eat alone, but it does matter if I go out to eat with another person? If you eat with one more person, there will always be someone to talk to."

Lu Xiangdong looked at her. He felt that she was being sarcastic. If she had planned to only eat with that man, it would not be a big deal. As long as she had not cheated on him, he could understand the loneliness of eating alone at home.

He sighed. "Su Mianmian, go up and rest."

Su Mianmian looked at him in shock. She thought that he would scold her for being so close to Ouyang Que. She did not expect him to just let it go. Did he not care that she was eating with another man?

"Don't look at me like that. I just trust you. I trust that you won't act rashly." The corner of his lips curled up. He flicked his cigarette into an ashtray, stood up, and walked over to where she was standing. When he was close to her, he leaned over and whispered into her ear, "No one can take you away from under my eyes. Even Ouyang Que can't do it."

She shuddered. He said that he trusted her!

"Captain Lu, being too confident is equivalent to narcissism. Be careful. Don't accidentally fall. You don't know what happened!"

He gently caressed her face. She wanted to avoid his touch, but there was a railing behind her, making it impossible for her to retreat. She stared at him with her eyes wide open.

"You definitely couldn't bear to see me fall." He put a cigarette to his lips, patted her shoulder with a smile, and turned to walk upstairs.

"..."

Su Mianmian really wanted to scold him for being shameless.

She was sleeping soundly when Lu Xiangdong woke her.

Forced to open her eyes, she turned around and muttered, "Captain Lu, what are you looking for?"

The pair of underwear that Lu Xiangdong had hung on the rooftop was gone. There was no wind yesterday, and there was no wind this morning, and they had somehow disappeared.

"My underwear is gone. Have you seen it? Get up and help me look. I'm in a hurry." Lu Xiangdong stood in front of the mirror and put on his tie.

"How would I know where your pants are? Could it be that you didn't take them out of the washing machine?" Su Mianmian covered her mouth as she yawned. She was so sleepy.

"Go to the washing machine and help me look for them." Lu Xiangdong opened the bedroom door and walked downstairs.

Su Mianmian could only follow him downstairs.

He went into the kitchen to bring breakfast. She went to the washing machine to help him look. When she passed by the washing machine room, Su Mianmian caught a glimpse of something shaking under the door of the grocery room. She quickly closed the door to prevent Lu Xiangdong from seeing the dog.

Lu Xiangdong looked at her strangely as he carried breakfast out of the kitchen. "Why are you leaning on the door? Have you found my things?"

"No. I'm still looking for them." She wiped her sweat and hoped that he wouldn't see the truth.

The mastiff, who was locked in the room, smelled the fruit fragrance on Su Mianmian. It circled around in excitement and raised its head to howl.

Su Mianmian was so scared that her heart almost jumped out of her chest.

Lu Xiangdong spat out the milk he had been drinking. Had he heard it right? He had just heard the sound of a dog barking!

"That- that's actually..." Su Mianmian lost her courage when she saw how Lu Xiangdong's face had already darkened.

Lu Xiangdong put down his glass and walked towards her. He pulled her away and opened the door. A dog pounced on him. He, who had always been a neat-freak, took a few steps back and shouted, "Get lost, don't come near me!"

Su Mianmian was also shocked. She was afraid that the mastiff would pounce on Lu Xiangdong, so she quickly grabbed the chain around his neck and shouted angrily, "Mastiff, he's not your owner, don't pounce on him."

This mastiff probably thought of Lu Xiangdong as Ouyang Que's big brother.

"Su Mianmian, do you want to explain to me what's going on with this dog?" He stood a few steps away from the dog and waved at her. "Come here."

Su Mianmian told the mastiff to go back into his room and not to run out again. The mastiff wagged its tail and entered the room. She closed the door and slowly walked toward him.

"Captain Lu, it's a friend's dog. My friend is allergic to dogs, so I'm helping out by taking care of the mastiff for a few days. If you don't like the mastiff, I'll take it somewhere else to live." Su Mianmian had already decided that if he drove the mastiff away, she would bring it to Tang Wenyun or Xu Mengting's house and let them take care of it for a few days.

He couldn't figure out who this dog belonged to. Was it Ouyang Que's?

Lu Xiangdong's face instantly darkened.

"This dog belongs to Ouyang Que?"

She shook her head. "It belongs to Ouyang Que's sister-in-law."

"This dog was here last night?" Lu Xiangdong looked furious. She had hidden the dog from him for a whole night.

She nodded honestly.

"Take it away. Now."

Su Mianmian didn't dare to hesitate. She quickly went to take the dog away, but when she opened the door, she saw a piece of red cloth hanging from the dog's mouth. She screamed and ran over to grab it from his mouth. It was Lu Xiangdong's pants!

It was over.

"Su Mianmian, what are you holding in your hand? ''Lu Xiangdong appeared at the door in a rage. He looked as if he wanted to throw the dog away.

Su Mianmian quickly hid his pants behind her and smiled embarrassedly. "It's nothing. You must be seeing things."

"My pants were taken by this mad dog!" He walked over, picked up the mastiff, and dragged it out unceremoniously.

"Lu Xiangdong, what are you trying to do? I'll buy you a pair of new pants. Don't hurt it. It's someone else's love. If you hurt it, it won't be easy to explain." Su Mianmian followed behind and pleaded for mercy.

Lu Xiangdong was angry, but he wouldn't do anything violent. She was right. This was someone else's love. If he hurt it, it wouldn't be easy for her to explain.

He loosened his grip and threw the dog outside the door.

"Take it with you and leave. Don't even think about stepping into the villa again." He clapped his hands in disgust and walked into the living room.

The mastiff squatted on the ground and sighed.

Su Mianmian put her hand on her forehead and looked at the mastiff with a sad face. She shouldn't have grabbed his pants. She had brought this upon herself. The only solution now was to bring it to Tang Wenyun's house. Wenyun lived alone, so she should have enough room. Xu Mengting had a husband. She was afraid that Xu Mengting's husband would not like dogs.

When Tang Wenyun received her call, she was reading a book at home.

"Wenyun, do you like dogs?"

Tang Wenyun did not understand why she asked this. She surely wasn't concerned about which animals she liked all of a sudden.

"I do! What's wrong?"

"That's great!" Su Mianmian continued, "Wenyun, I have a favour to ask you. Can you look after this mastiff for a few days?"

"Mastiff? Is it a very big one?" Tang Wenyun's tone changed in an instant.

"Are you afraid?"

"Oh, it's alright. Bring it over," Tang Wenyun said with an embarrassed smile.

Su Mianmian thanked her profusely.

She got the mastiff into the car and drove it over.

When Tang Wenyun opened the door, the expression on her face froze.

"Wenyun, this dog is very powerful. Isn't it handsome?" Su Mianmian led the mastiff into her house. Tang Wenyun quickly closed the door.

"Sister Su, why are you raising such a big dog? Are you trying to scare people?" Tang Wenyun picked up her book and placed it in front of her chest, making a defensive gesture.

Su Mianmian smiled when she saw how cautious she was. "It's very obedient. It won't bite."

"Who said it won't bite? Last time I saw the news, it said that this kind of dog would!" Tang Wenyun looked fearfully at the dog.

Su Mianmian squatted down and stroked the mastiff's head. She raised her head and looked at her. "Forget it. I think I'll take it somewhere else to live. I'm really worried that something will happen to you if I leave it with you."

Tang Wenyun nodded in agreement.

"Mastiff, let's go." Su Mianmian led the mastiff towards the door.

Tang Wenyun said apologetically, "Sister Su, I'm really sorry. It's not that I don't want to take it in, but it's so big!"

She understood. When she first saw the mastiff, she was also shocked. However, after spending a day with it, she realized that the mastiff was very smart and could understand human language.

Su Mianmian looked particularly eye catching with a dog beside her. Su Mianmian went to the pet store to buy dog food for the mastiff. There were chairs on the street, and her legs were a little weak. She let go of the leash and rubbed her feet. The mastiff lay at her feet, licking her toes.

Su Mianmian took out some dog food and threw it on the ground. The dog slowly chewed it.

A Land Rover passed in front of them. Lu Xiangdong, who was sitting in the car, slowed down and lowered the window. He saw Su Mianmian, who was lowering her head and rubbing her feet, and the dog next to her. It was obediently lying next to her.

Lu Xiangdong frowned. Did she like dogs so much that she would she rather sit outside than stay at home?

After thinking for a moment, Lu Xiangdong restarted the car and drove away. He was in a hurry.

Su Mianmian looked up and saw a Land Rover passing by. As the light was bright, she could not see the license plate number clearly, so she was not sure if it was Lu Xiangdong's car.

She was about to take the dog to a shelter nearby when her phone in her pocket suddenly rang. It was a call from Lu Xiangdong.

Once she saw the caller ID, she did not want to pick up.

He probably wanted her to throw the dog away, so she decidedly hung up.

Not long after, he called again. This time, Su Mianmian decided to pick up.

"What's the matter? If you're calling to ask about the dog, then let me tell you, I've already found a place for it to rest. You don't have to remind me again." After cursing, she was ready to cut off the phone, when Lu Xiangdong suddenly said, "Bring it back to the villa."

Su Mianmian dug her ears. Had she heard wrong? Was he actually asking her to bring it home?

"Are you serious?"

"You'd better keep a close eye on him. You can't let him run upstairs, and you can't let him go to the rooftop. He can't touch the swimming pool downstairs, and you can't let him enter the garden in the villa."

Although he had made a lot of requests, Su Mianmian felt that he was being reasonable. She squatted down and stroked the mastiff's head. "Let's go home!"

The mastiff seemed to understand her. It raised its two front legs excitedly and barked at her a few times.

Su Mianmian brought it back to the villa. When they passed by the swimming pool, the mastiff mischievously reached out its paws to grab a butterfly. It lowered its head, ready to play.

Su Mianmian looked back and noticed that the dog had not followed. It was squatting by the swimming pool and playing with butterflies.

She creased her forehead worriedly.

Su Mianmian poured herself a cup of coffee and sat in front of the fountain to read a magazine. She let the mastiff wander around, but warned it not to enter the swimming pool or the garden. The mastiff was obedient and walked around the fountain. From time to time, it made a howling sound. It was probably trying to find out why the fountain looked so different from its owner's.
