Chapter 121: Does my stomach feel uncomfortable or...

She was stunned for a moment. Was it true that her temper had been eased recently? She thought it was probably related to the child she was carrying. She didn't want to affect the child with negative emotions.

"Maybe as I'm getting older, I'm not as angry as before." She found a lame excuse.

"Continue to maintain it. Women should be more docile." He smiled gently.

She knew he was mocking her for not being gentle in the past, but she was now pregnant and did not want to lower herself to his level. She covered her mouth and yawned.

"Since when did you manage my personality? My personality wasn't formed in a day or two." Her temper was related to her family. When she was very young, her father loved to drink. Every time he came home after drinking, he would beat her mum up. At that time, she was young. In order to protect her mother, she had no choice but to become strong.

Every time her father wanted to beat her up, she would put on a fierce look. As time passed, her father didn't dare to go home anymore, unless he wanted to come back to get money.

Later, her father was run over by a car. He had been drunk and careless, leaving them alone and widowed.

However, Su Mianmian had never felt a trace of fatherly love from him.

Lu Xiangdong saw her face drop, she looked sad. He did not know what she was thinking. "It's late, we should go back."

Su Mianmian looked up at him with tears in her eyes. She blinked them away, not wanting him see her sadness.

"Yes, did you inform your family?" She stood up. After sitting for so long, her legs felt weak. He stretched out a helping hand and held her waist.

"When you walked away, you already told him."

She nodded and followed him.

Lu Wenzhong heard the butler say that Lu Xiangdong and his wife were about to go home. He quickly asked the butler to go out and stop them. It was so late, what was the point of going back? It was dangerous to drive in the dark.

The butler hurriedly ran outside and shouted, "Young Master, please wait a moment."

Lu Xiangdong had already opened the car door and was about to get in. When he saw the butler running over in a hurry, he stopped and waited for him.

"What's the matter?"

The butler panted. "Young Master, the Chairman asked you to stay here for the night. It's already dark, and he's worried that you might not be safe on the road."

Lu Xiangdong looked at Su Mianmian to see what she thought.

She looked at the butler and then looked at Lu Xiangdong. She felt that she should agree because she was tired and did not want to be bounced around by the car.

"Let's get out of the car. We won't go back tonight. I'll send you to the airport tomorrow morning," he said to her as he closed the car door.

Su Mianmian pursed her lips and nodded.

The housekeeper heaved a sigh of relief. He had finally managed to keep the Young Master and Madam.

The Lu family had a tradition of drinking soup before going to bed.

When Su Mianmian came out of the bathroom, Lu Xiangdong told her to drink the fish soup before sleeping. Su Mianmian took it as a supplement for her body's nutrition. She picked up the soup and smelled it. She felt disgusted by it. She quickly put down the bowl, covered her mouth, and ran to the bathroom.

He quickly followed her. "What's wrong? Do you feel sick?"

Su Mianmian sat by the toiled and heaved. Perhaps because she was pregnant it smelled stronger to her.

She waved at him. "It's nothing. I think I caught a cold."

"Do you have any cold medicine in your bag?" He stood at the entrance of the bathroom with no intention of leaving.

Su Mianmian shook her head. "No, it's just a small cold. I'll be fine after a nap."

He frowned. "How long has it been since you caught a cold? Don't you feel uncomfortable vomiting like this?"

How could she not feel uncomfortable? She was now vomiting several times a day, and it wasn't getting any better. She was worried that she would not be able to fly for much longer because of this. She was worried that it would affect her work.

"It's alright. Go take a shower. I'll rest for a while." Su Mianmian turned on the tap and rinsed her mouth out.

"Remember to buy some cold medicine tomorrow." Whenever he caught a cold, he would never vomit as much as this. He was very worried about her health.

She couldn't answer him because she could not take medicine at all.

Before he went into the bathroom, he said to her, "Ask the housekeeper to go out and buy some medicine later. Take some before you go to bed to prevent your cold from getting worse tomorrow."

Su Mianmian's entire body trembled.

"No need to trouble the housekeeper. It's already so late. Everyone else is already asleep." She hurriedly held him before he tried to go downstairs.

"Are you really okay?"

Afraid that he wouldn't believe her, she nodded her head forcefully.

He placed his hand on her forehead to check her temperature. There was nothing unusual, she probably just had a small cold. He patted the back of her hand. "Go to sleep."

She was afraid that he would go back on his word, so she quickly climbed back into bed.

At five in the morning, Lu Xiangdong was woken up by something strange. He turned his head and saw that Su Mianmian was gone and a sound was coming from the bathroom. He quickly got out of bed and walked toward the bathroom.

The door of the bathroom was open and Su Mianmian sitting by toilet, throwing up.

He pushed the door open and walked in.

"What's going on? You haven't recovered from the cold yet?" He turned her to face him and saw that her face was very pale. The bathroom was dirty and he didn't like her sitting here.

She held his shoulder weakly and pressed her face against his chest. She felt dizzy.

"I'm fine. It's just that my stomach is acting up."

"Is it a cold or your stomach?" She looked very sick and her hand was cold.

"It's all okay. You don't have to worry about me. Go back to sleep. Let me stay here for a while." She moved away from him and turned around to sit by the toilet again.

How could he sleep when she was like this?

"Su Mianmian, you pack up. I'll drive you to the hospital."

When she heard the word 'hospital', her whole body trembled. She grabbed his arm and said nervously, "There's no need to go to the hospital. I'm afraid of injections. Just buy me some cold medicine."

He lowered his head to look at her. Her lip trembled and he guessed that she really was afraid of injections. He decided he would not force her. "Alright, you go and get dressed. Go out and buy medicine now."

She nodded.

When they went downstairs, they alerted the butler. The butler rubbed his eyes and asked curiously, "Young Master, Young Madam, you're leaving so early?"

"Yes, go and drive the car out." Lu Xiangdong held Su Mianmian.

The butler yawned and nodded, "Yes, Young Master."

It was six in the morning when they went out and many shops were closed. Lu Xiangdong drove around the neighborhood until seven in the morning. At this time, some small restaurants were opening for business.

"What do you want to eat? I'll go and buy something," Lu Xiangdong asked her.

She leaned her head against the back of the car and closed her eyes to rest. The moment he mentioned food, she suddenly remembered that the mastiff was still at the Lu family home. She had left in a hurry and had forgotten about it.

"The mastiff is still at the Lu family home. What should I do?"

The corner of his mouth twitched. She could not even take care of herself now, how could she manage the mastiff? His family would take good care of it.

"I'll call back later and ask the butler to keep an eye on it."

She heaved a sigh of relief. "Okay."

She was not in the mood to eat now, so Lu Xiangdong put on some music for her to listen to and relax.

She opened her eyes and looked at him. "Aren't you hungry? Didn't you want to buy food?"

"You don't want to eat, so I don't have much of an appetite either."

Su Mianmian frowned. Whether she ate or not shouldn't have much to do with him. She vomited whenever she ate. He wasn't happy about it, so why was he making a fuss about it?

"Go buy food. Don't patronize me."

She pushed Lu Xiangdong out of the car. He had no choice but to go to a nearby place to buy some breakfast.

When he came back, it was already past eight o'clock and some pharmacies were open, so he went to buy a bottle of medicine for her stomach and for her cold. The doctor suggested that the two medicines should not be mixed together, it was best to take them separately.

He bought a bottle of mineral water for her to take the medicine with.

Su Mianmian examined the medicine and found that it was forbidden for pregnant women. She immediately hid the medicine under the car seat and treated it as if she had already taken it.

Lu Xiangdong, who was cleaning the window, suddenly turned his head to look at her. "Have you taken the medicine?"

She nodded. "I did. I took two pills according to the instructions."

He threw the towel that he was using to clean the windows aside and clapped his hands. "Alright, you should feel better after eating it. I'll send you to the airport now."

Su Mianmian heaved a sigh of relief. It was not a good idea to hide this from him much longer. He would find out sooner or later. It was better to find a suitable time to confess to him.

They drove to the entrance of the airport. Su Mianmian took off her seatbelt, pushed open the car door, and got out.

As Su Mianmian left, Lu Xiangdong noticed that her medicine had been left on her seat. He had bought these for her just now, yet the cap of the bottles had not been opened. Why had she lied to him and said that she had taken them?

With the medicine bottle in his hand, he gazed as her as she walked away. His intuition told him that she had been acting strangely these past few days.

Su Mianmian had walked halfway to the entrance when she suddenly remembered that she had forgotten to take the medicine with her. She was so worried that she did not dare to look back. She was worried that he would still be watching her leave, so she could only keep walking forward.

She did not turn back to take the medicine, so Lu Xiangdong put it on the steering wheel, started the engine, and drove away. He would keep the medicine for now and give it to her at night.
