Chapter 128: My mind is in a mess

Su Mianmian nodded. "Alright, you go and do your work! I have to go to the airport."

Zhu Di was about to say something when her phone rang. She raised her phone and smiled at Su Mianmian. "It's a call from Senior. I'll have to take it."

Su Mianmian lowered her eyes and curled her lips coldly. She nodded at the assistant and turned to leave.

Zhu Di hung up the phone and asked the assistant, "She left?"

The assistant nodded with a twisted expression.

She raised the phone in her hand. "Senior is waiting for me upstairs. I'll go up now and familiarize myself with the work process later."

"Miss Zhu Di, this is a company. It's not like the outside world. There are so many people. I hope that you will change your address to CEO Lu."

Zhu Di turned to look at him. She nodded her head.

'KNOCK KNOCK!'

Lu Xiangdong raised his head and called out, "Come in."

Zhu Di closed the door behind her.

"CEO Lu, are you looking for me?"

She sat on the sofa opposite him. He picked up the landline on his desk and ordered, "Send two cups of coffee in."

After putting down the phone, he walked in front of her and slipped his hands into his pockets. "I've arranged a job for you. I don't need another assistant by my side, so you'll work by Li Mingzhe's side. He'll teach you much."

"Who is Li Mingzhe?"

"You don't have to worry about that. He has extraordinary abilities. If you work with him, you will definitely learn a lot."

"But!"

"I have already informed him. You should report downstairs now. General Manager Li will arrange your work." He lowered his head to light a cigarette.

The assistant's voice came from the door. "The coffee is here."

"Come in."

The assistant walked in with the coffee. He placed the coffee down and was about to leave the room when he was stopped by Lu Xiangdong. "Take Zhu Di to report to CEO Li. She will be working with Li Mingzhe from now on."

"Yes, CEO."

Zhu Di stood up and said reluctantly, "CEO Lu, I'll go now."

Lu Xiangdong rubbed his forehead and nodded. "Okay."

Zhu Di noticed that he looked very tired. "Senior, are you in a bad mood today?"

He frowned and shook his head.

She sighed, closed the door, and left.

After Su Mianmian left the company, she planned to head straight to the airport, but when she got into her car, Ouyang Que called.

"Mianmian, where are you now?" Ouyang Que sounded very anxious.

She closed the car door and used her shoulder to hold the phone. "I'm going to the airport. What's wrong?"

"The mastiff is missing. I don't know if it went to look for you."

Su Mianmian froze, and she switched to holding the phone in her hand. "How has the Mastiff's mood been recently?"

"It doesn't seem too good. It hasn't eaten much. I'm worried that it might-" Ouyang Que stopped speaking and focused on driving instead.

After Su Mianmian heard that the mastiff had disappeared, she felt terrible. She quite liked the mastiff, but it wasn't her dog.

"Ouyang Que, I'll have to trouble you to look for it. I'm catching a plane now. I'll contact you after work."

Ouyang Que didn't want to waste too much of her time, so he quickly replied, "Okay, you go and do your work. Once there's news about the mastiff, I'll inform you."

"Okay." Su Mianmian hung up the phone, and looked deep in thought.

Would the mastiff recognize her road? She worried that it could get hit by a car while crossing the road or be caught and sold. Once she thought of all this, she did not feel in the right mood to work.

She gritted her teeth and decided to call Tang Wenyun to ask if she could help her take this shift off. She had to find the mastiff.

"Wenyun, I suddenly had an emergency and can't make it to work in time. Could you help me apply for a leave of absence?"

"Sister Su, is it serious?" Tang Wenyun asked worriedly.

"It's fine. I'll have to trouble you with this." Su Mianmian smiled.

"You're welcome. Sister Su, you don't have to worry about the company."

"Okay." After hanging up, Su Mianmian stepped on the accelerator and drove away.

Ouyang Que heard his phone ring again. He picked it up and saw that it was Su Mianmian calling.

He put on his headphones so he could drive and listen to what she had to say. He asked, "Mianmian, aren't you about to board the plane?"

"I didn't, I've taken the day off. Where are you now?"

Ouyang Que looked at the road sign outside and said, "I'm not far from your company."

"Okay, see you at the usual place." Su Mianmian took out her headphones and focused on the road ahead.

She stopped in front of the coffee shop, got out of the car, and walked towards the entrance.

Ouyang Que had just arrived. Just as he had taken a seat, he saw Su Mianmian push the door open and enter.

"Mianmian, this way."

Su Mianmian walked over and sat down opposite him. She picked up a glass of ice water and drank a mouthful.

"Have you found the mastiff?"

"No." He shook his head. He had searched all morning to no avail.

"Let's advertise it. I'm really worried." Su Mianmian gripped the glass of water tightly.

If they still couldn't find the dog before this afternoon, they had to advertise it.

Su Mianmian and Ouyang Que had reported the case. Now, all they could do was hope that a kind-hearted person would contact them.

"Mianmian, don't worry too much. Maybe the mastiff just ran out to relax and has already gone back." Ouyang Que smiled and comforted her.

She looked at him."I wonder if it went there..."

"Where?" He looked at her curiously.

Had the mastiff gone to the place it had been injured last time to wait for her?

Although he didn't know where Su Mianmian was referring to, Ouyang Que still got into the car with her.

"Stop the car in front."

Ouyang Que turned off the engine and looked at her. "Here? You mean the mastiff came here?"

"I don't know. I'm just following my instincts. It could be here because it was injured here before." Su Mianmian pushed open the car door and stood outside. She put her hands in her pockets and looked around.

Ouyang Que did the same thing as her and looked around.

"Mastiff, are you here? Mastiff?" Su Mianmian shouted.

The mastiff suddenly came out from under a tree. It wagged its tail and ran towards her.

She squatted down and hugged its head. She was so happy that she cried.

The mastiff licked her hair excitedly.

Ouyang Que squatted down and smiled. "It seems that a woman's intuition is right. This place has left a deep impression on the mastiff. That's why it came here."

Su Mianmian stroked the mastiff's head and smiled. "Yes, at that time, the mastiff risked its life to save us."

"You? You mean Lu Xiangdong?"

She nodded. She got up and led the mastiff. Ouyang Que followed.

He seemed to have missed something.

She suddenly looked at him. "Go back and tell your sister-in-law that I've bought this dog. I hope your sister-in-law can bear the pain and give it to me."

Ouyang Que smiled "Actually, after the mastiff came home, it didn't get on well with my sister-in-law anymore. She's pregnant and very busy taking care of the baby in her belly and didn't have time to care for the mastiff. She asked me to pass a message to you. To take good care of the mastiff for her. She will be very grateful to you."

Su Mianmian was surprised, she had to thank his sister-in-law.

"Okay, I'll take good care of the mastiff. You don't have to worry about that." She led the mastiff to get into the car and closed the door. "I'll take the mastiff back now."

Ouyang Que grabbed her wrist. "Don't work too hard. If you feel that the mastiff is too stressful for you, send it away. I don't want you to push yourself too hard."

Su Mianmian shook her head. "I won't send it away. It makes me feel happy."

Ouyang Que felt dazed. She sat in the car, fastened her seatbelt, and waved at him. "I'm leaving. You should go back, too."

He bent down and waved at her in the car. "Bye! Be careful on the road."

"Okay." Su Mianmian got the mastiff to sit properly.

Once she arrived at the villa, Su Mianmian opened the car door and let the mastiff jump out by itself. After the mastiff jumped out, it stood outside the door and waited for her.

Su Mianmian suddenly felt a little dizzy. Perhaps she had a cold. She didn't pay much attention to it.

The mastiff wagged its tail at her.

Su Mianmian squatted down and suddenly felt dizzy again. She forced a smile at the mastiff. "Mastiff, I might not be feeling well. You go in first, don't mind me."

The mastiff seemed to understand what she said and barked at her. Su Mianmian smiled weakly. When she got up, she felt the world spin, and then she fell down.

The mastiff squatted in front of her and barked wildly. It looked at her worriedly as if to say, 'Master, what's wrong? Master, get up quickly.'

Su Mianmian tried to take out her phone from her pocket. She wanted to call someone, but after she took out her phone, it fell to the ground. The phone was quite a distance away from her, and she couldn't reach it at all. Was she going to sleep in the yard like this? She took a deep breath with tears in her eyes. She felt tired all over and her mind was a mess.
