Chapter 132: Not Much of an appetite

"Consider it as repayment," he said bluntly.

She immediately lowered her shoulders and sighed. "Alright then, CEO Lu. I'll go prepare for my business trip. You go ahead first."

Lu Xiangdong fiddled with the pen in his hand. He put down the pen, picked up his coat, and left.

Su Mianmian felt that staying in a hotel was not the best long-term solution, the money she had on her would eventually run out, but Ouyang que told her not to worry. He would think of a way.

It would be great if there was a way to get the best of both worlds. She would not have to trouble Ouyang Que, and at the same time, she would be able to take care of her baby in peace.

"Go to a nearby farm or something. Find a place to stay. I don't like staying in hotels for too long."

Ouyang Que looked at her with a troubled expression. If she was worried about money, he could think of a way.

"How about staying at a farm?"

"That's pretty good. You can make the arrangements." Su Mianmian did not feel that there was anything wrong with it. As long as she could calm down and take care of her baby, she would be fine.

Ouyang Que sighed. "Alright then, I'll go and ask around later."

After tidying up the table, Ouyang Que reminded her not to run around and wait for him to come back in the room. Su Mianmian smiled and told him not to worry. She would watch TV to kill time.

Ouyang Que took the money and went out.

Su Mianmian closed the door and sat on the sofa to watch TV.

Someone suddenly rang the doorbell and she quickly put down the remote control, thinking that Ouyang Que had left something behind.

The moment she opened the door, she was met men in black. The men stepped back, and Lu Wenzhong stood in front of her in a dignified manner. His gaze fell on her stomach, and he threw his cigarette down to extinguish it. He looked at her and said, "Chengwu Su, it must be very hard running around with a baby in you! Why don't you come back with me? I will take good care of you. Lu Xiangdong won't find you."

Su Mianmian looked at him in disbelief. He must be helping her because of the child in her stomach.

"Why should I go back with you?" She pursed her lips and looked at him.

"Because your child is part of the Lu family. I am the grandfather of your child. I want to see the child come out safely." He looked at Su Mianmian with a deep gaze. Su Mianmian was stunned for a moment, then she made a gesture to invite him in.

Lu Wenzhong stepped into the hotel and stood by the door. He said to her, "Go pack your things now and go back with me."

"Can you guarantee the safety of the child? Can you guarantee that Lu Xiangdong will not find me?"

"I can guarantee that the more dangerous the place, the safer you will be. If I hide you in my villa, I don't think even the smart Lu Xiangdong would suspect anything." Lu Wenzhong had already planned everything thoroughly. As long as Su Mianmian went back with him, he could avoid Lu Xiangdong and place her by his side.

Su Mianmian believed that he could do it, otherwise, he wouldn't have found her.

"Okay, I'll go back with you, but I have one condition."

"Speak."

She remembered that Ouyang Que had not returned yet. She had to give him a message to let him go back.

"I came out with my friend. Please ask your men to send a message for me. Tell them that I already have a place to stay. Tell them not to worry about me. Also, tell my friend to go back to the city." That was all she could do.

Lu Wenzhong asked her to go back with his men first. He would take care of her friend.

Su Mianmian walked out of the hotel with Lu Wenzhong and got into the luxury car that Lu Wenzhong had parked outside.

She had reason to believe that Lu Wenzhong would not harm her. The child belonged to the Lu family. Her best option was to follow him back to get the baby.

The car stopped in front of the Lu family's villa, and the butler came up to open the door for her.

Su Mianmian carefully got out of the car and waited for Lu Wenzhong.

Lu Wenzhong asked the butler to help her up the stairs to rest. If she needed anything, she could get the servants to get it for her at any time.

She looked at the reactions of the people in the villa, and they seemed to be no different. She reckoned that the entire room of servants had been brainwashed by Lu Wenzhong.

The phone in the living room suddenly rang. A servant picked it up and called out to Lu Wenzhong, "Chairman, it's young master."

She looked at the phone reflexively and her heart thumped. Why was Lu Xiangdong calling?

When Lu Wenzhong came in, he saw that she was still standing there and hadn't gone up. He hurriedly gestured for the servant to help her into the house.

Su Mianmian understood that he didn't want her to hear the phone call.

To be honest, she didn't want to hear what they were talking about.

After confirming that Su Mianmian had entered the house, Lu Wenzhong took the phone from the servant's hand.

"Dad, I heard from my men that you've been busy these past two days. Did you find Su Mianmian?" Lu Xiangdong said straightforwardly.

"Who was the one who gossiped in front of you? Don't you want me to teach him a lesson? Is my busy schedule related to Su Mianmian?"

Lu Xiangdong knew that he couldn't get anything out of Lu Wenzhong. He had to find someone to pay attention to Lu Wenzhong's every move.

After hanging up the phone, he turned around and saw the mastiff lying on the ground looking at him listlessly. He walked over to take its leash and couldn't help but curse under his breath. She had run away and left him with such trouble.

He had been busy looking for Su Mianmian for the past few days and didn't care much about the mastiff. It had lost weight due to hunger.

He handed the mastiff to a servant and let the servant watch it carefully.

The servant knew that this dog was the young mistress' love and didn't dare to treat it badly. However, this dog looked fierce and scary, so the servant didn't dare to take the leash.

Lu Xiangdong frowned. "What's wrong? I just asked you to take care of it. What's with your expression?"

"Young Master, this dog can bite people. I- I'm afraid." The servant's legs would not stop trembling.

Lu Xiangdong saw that the servant was very frightened, so he did not force her.

"Forget it, go do your thing. You don't have to take care of the mastiff anymore."

The servant said happily, "Yes, young master. I'll go do my thing now."

The mastiff was not capable of eating people, so why were they so afraid? Lu Xiangdong lowered his head and looked at the mastiff. He reckoned that only Su Mianmian would dare to approach the mastiff.

"Let's go. Your master isn't here, so you need to follow me." Lu Xiangdong pulled it up to the rooftop.

The mastiff seemed to feel the loneliness in its master's heart and couldn't help but howl.

Lu Xiangdong looked at the sky outside, a little lost in thought.

"Where did she go? Why is there no news from the people I sent out?"

There was no one around to talk to. Lu Xiangdong saw the mastiff as the only person he could talk to. He muttered softly and turned his head to look at the mastiff, who was lying on the ground asleep, completely ignoring his words.

He could not help but sigh. He had thought things would be simple, but Su Mianmian wanted to avoid him, and she would not let him find her so easily. He was worried about her, afraid that something would happen to her.

Su Mianmian only went downstairs to eat. Most of the time, she would sleep in the bedroom. After a few days of not exercising or working, her body had changed.

"Madam, can I come in?" A servant stood outside the door and asked.

"Come in." She sat on the bed, reading a book. The servant led a doctor in.

"Young madam, this is the doctor the chairman invited for you. He is here to examine you." The servant introduced the man next to her. The man greeted her politely, "Hello, young madam. Is it okay for me to examine you?"

Su Mianmian put down the book in her hand and invited him to come over.

"You can go. There is no need to help here for the time being," Su Mianmian said to the servant.

The servant glanced at her and finally left.

The doctor took out a device from his medical box and asked her to lift up her clothes.

Su Mianmian told him directly, "I have a heart condition."

The man was stunned. His gaze seemed to say, 'You're bold.'

"I haven't heard anything about this from the chairman." The doctor bent down to examine her and touched her stomach.

She smiled and said, "The chairman cares about the child in my stomach. Why would he care about whether I'm alive or dead?"

She had already accepted her fate. Her life was cheap anyway. It was not as valuable as her child's.

The man shook his head. "You can't say that. Just rest and take care of the baby. From the looks of it, your situation is still optimistic."

Was this supposed to be comforting? Su Mianmian smiled at him.

She was naturally optimistic. The only time she had ever badly cried was when her mother left. That day, she had cried so hard that she didn't have any tears left by the end of it. However, now that death was about to happen to her, she felt very calm.

The servant made her some porridge and told her to eat it while it was still hot. In the past few days, besides having a good appetite, her temper had been calmed.

"What's the date today?" Su Mianmian took a sip of the porridge.

The servant counted with his fingers and said, "Young Madam, it's the fifteenth today."

She looked up at the servant and something flashed in her eyes. She instantly lost her appetite and put down the spoon.

"Young Madam, have you lost your appetite? What do you want to eat? You can tell me. I'll go and get you another serving." The servant was cautious. He was probably afraid that Lu Wenzhong would blame him.

She waved her hand and said, "No need. I just had breakfast. I really can't eat anymore. Help me take a walk downstairs."

The servant quickly came over to hold one of her arms, pulled open the door, and led her downstairs.

"Young Madam, be careful " The servant treated her like a treasure, afraid that something would happen to her. It would be difficult for the servant to explain if anything did.
