Chapter 30, can you bring me along?

He Lanjin seemed calm and collected, but she was a bundle of nerves.

"The master said that he would personally cook later, so you don't have to go out to eat tonight." Han Beicheng did not understand. Why would the master cook for a woman? The master even sent him to inform her and make sure that she knew Qiao Hanye was cooking for her.

He Lanjin was a little surprised that a person like Qiao Hanye could cook. She secretly heaved a sigh of relief, knowing that they did not suspect anything.

"All right," she said.

He Lanjin walked away very quickly. Han Beicheng looked at her retreating figure and scratched his head in confusion. "What is Master up to? Such a dangerous woman, and he's allowing her to live in Jing Garden? What if one day Master gets..."

Han Beicheng immediately shut his mouth when he realized that he was talking out loud in front of Qiao Hanye's study.

"Come in," came Qiao Hanye's voice. Han Beicheng hurriedly entered the study. His master was in a video conference, so he waited patiently by the door.

As soon as the video conference ended, Qiao Hanye picked up his golden pen, signed the document he was reading, then threw the document at Han Beicheng.

"Master, are you going to buy the shares of the Lu Corporation at a high price?" Han Beicheng was a little surprised when he took a look at the document. The Lu Corporation was not part of their plan, but why was Qiao Hanye doing this?

"Although Lu Zifan is the heir to the Lu Corporation, his shares are not that many. The shares of all the members of the Lu family add up to only 31% of the total. Find a way to contact these people and have them sell their votes," Qiao Hanye ordered.

Han Beicheng closed the document and scratched his head, saying, "Master, do you have a crush on Miss He?"

Qiao Hanye raised his eyes and looked coldly at Han Beicheng. One look made Han Beicheng shiver all over. Stepping back, he said, "Yes, Master. I'll do it right away."

Han Beicheng rushed out of the study. Downstairs, he saw He Lanjin sitting on the sofa and playing games on her iPad. He took a closer look at the screen and said in surprise, "Miss He, can you teach me that?"

Chewing on melon seeds, He Lanjin brushed the hair off her face and looked up at him. "Pay up and become my disciple."

Upon hearing what he Lanjin said, Han Beicheng disappeared in a jiffy.

"Stingy," He Lanjin murmured as Han Beicheng walked away. She stood up and stretched. She saw Qiao Hanye walk down the stairs. He was wearing a gray family uniform. She looked at him impishly and said, "Hello, Mr. Qiao."

"Okay," Qiao Hanye said, noting the mischief in He Lanjin's eyes. "What do you want to eat?"

"Braised pork ribs, spicy prawns, boiled fish..." He Lanjin rattled off at random. Qiao Hanye rolled up his sleeves and asked, "Spicy food?"

"Yes." He Lanjin nodded repeatedly, standing in front of Qiao Hanye like an obedient child. She was a completely different person from the arrogant one at the nightclub that night. If Qiao Hanye had not seen with his own eyes how she hacked the nightclub's surveillance system and how she beat up Director Huang's men, he wouldn't believe that He Lanjin was capable of doing anything even remotely similar.

"Please, please." He Lanjin walked to the kitchen door and opened it for Qiao Hanye, ushering him in.

Qiao Hanye looked attentively at He Lanjin as he entered the kitchen. He went straight to the refrigerator to get some of the ingredients and was surprised that He Lanjin did not follow him into the kitchen. He looked up the stairs and saw her retreating figure. He did not know why, but he found her cheerful disposition very infectious.

"Master, Director Huang has been arrested by the police and is awaiting investigation. What are we going to do next?" Han Beicheng asked as he entered the kitchen. Seeing Qiao Hanye busy, he respectfully stepped forward to help.

Qiao Hanye stopped him. Wiping his hands on tissue paper, Qiao Hanye said, "Tell Nan Feng to pay a visit to the people on the list tonight."

Qiao Hanye emphasized the phrase "pay a visit." Nan Feng was one of Qiao Hanye's most trusted and most loyal men. It was never a good thing for anyone to get a visit from Nan Feng.

"Yes, Master," Han Beicheng replied, his eyes gleaming with ruthlessness. "These people deserve to die."

Qiao Hanye lowered his head. His emotions were unclear under the dim light, but the air grew thick with his anger. He seemed ready to destroy the world.

"In Jiangcheng, the Lu family is dominant. If you want to pin him down, you must break his arm," Qiao Hanye said in a deep voice. Han Beicheng nodded knowingly, saying, "I know what to do."

The kitchen returned to silence as Han Beicheng took his leave. No one knew that the exchange of words between him and his master just now had decided the life and death of many people.
