He Lanjin crossed her legs and leaned to the side. "Bury someone," she casually said while munching on melon seeds.
"Miss He, you're doing the right thing to have a coffin built. There's a woman in the temporary hospital who actually stuffed a black widow up her body and suffocated the poor bug to death. This is simply intolerable. I suggest you quickly kill her. Leaving her alive will only pollute the environment."
It was the doctor from the temporary hospital, coming out to use the toilet nearby. He overheard He Lanjin's orders and came over to flatter her and gain her good graces.
He Lanjin looked at the doctor.
The doctor very quickly regretted his intrusion, suddenly afraid that He Lanjin would recognize him as one of Qiao Hanye's men. He quickly put on his mask and said, "I better get back to work. Doctors should focus on saving people."
He Lanjin looked as the doctor went. She put away the melon seeds and said, "I want a specially-designed coffin that cannot be opened with a chainsaw. Any attempt at using a chainsaw would cause death by electrocution for the person inside."
"If it is cracked open, a weapon hidden within the coffin will stab the person inside to death."
"I will install a password lock outside the coffin, and this must be the only way the coffin is to be opened," He Lanjin said. "If the password isn't unlocked in 30 minutes, then the coffin's oxygen levels will drop and the person inside will expire from oxygen deprivation."
Nan Feng's eyes lit up. This was fun.
"I'll do it." Nan Feng rolled up his sleeves and studied the blueprint He Lanjin handed over, afraid of missing even a tiny detail.
Just then Qiao Hanye arrived, bringing over food that he cooked for He Lanjin.
Though she tried her best not to show the men, He Lanjin was famished. When she smelled the food, she quickly ran to Qiao Hanye and started eating. "Mr. Qiao, your culinary skills are really good," He Lanjin said between mouthfuls. "Your food is even better than the food restaurants serve!"
Qiao Hanye pulled up a chair for He Lanjin to sit down on. He fixed her a plate so she would stop picking food from their individual containers. "So?"
"So from now on, my stomach will be under your control. What do you think? " He Lanjin said slyly, wanting Qiao Hanye to be her chef.
The man laughed heartily. He scooped half a bowl of soup for her and said, "Eat. Your stomach has been emptied and you've taken medicine. You'll be fine as long as you're 60% full."
"Okay," He Lanjin replied as she ate.
Qiao Hanye looked at the four men who had been forced to work."Are you going to bury He Ruoxue alive?"
"I am not burying her alive. I'm sending her off. This was, in fact, He Ruoxue's idea. Wasn't she the one who prodded the old woman to take me as a ghost bride?" He Lanjin said. "A ghost marriage is a vulgar thing and a very outdated custom, but I think that we should respect the old woman's wishes. He Ruoxue isn't married yet. I think it's just right for her to be a ghost bride."
Qiao Hanye raised his eyes and looked at He Ruoxue, who was hanging upside down from a tree not far from where he and He Lanjin sat. Each of her toes was tied tightly by a rope, causing blood to seep out. There were two dogs guarding her, ready to pounce if He Ruoxue made the slightest movement.
"He Lanjin, you will die a horrible death," He Ruoxue muttered.
Not far from where He Ruoxue hung, He Lanjin sat and ate her fill. There was a handsome man serving her. He was doting on He Lanjin lovingly, even wiping her mouth with a piece of tissue. He Ruoxue could not hear what he was saying, but he looked happy to just be serving He Lanjin, who smiled and gave him a peck on the cheek.
"What a slut!" He Ruoxue was very angry, but she did not dare move an inch. If her toes didn't snap, those two dogs below her would bite her.
She could not understand; how could He Lanjin have a man like this by her side? Was this man blind?
Before long Tang Zhilin and He Wenqing arrived from Jiang City. They were horrified to see He Ruoxue hanging upside down from a tree. "He Lanjin, has your conscience been eaten by a dog?" They shouted as they ran over to He Ruoxue. "This is your sister! She saved your life!"
