Chapter 167 : [Operation Spearhead Part 2 (Claire's Circumstances II)]

Few hours have passed since then, Claire is silently looking at the emptiness above as she got occasionally checked upon by people who took her away from safety. In fact she couldn't help but shudder in fright whenever a person walked in front of her cell. After all on some occasions, such people would always extract something from her that she couldn't understand.

For her this place itself was no different from the California research institute itself. Almost everything was identical if not for its eerie atmosphere. In that moment however amidst its silence, Argie then begun to speak from the opposite cell from her.

"Hey Kiddo!"

"A-Argie?!?!"

For the very first time Claire had finally spoken to a person whom she quite know for awhile. After all ever since she got to this place, she haven't been able to converse with Argie due to his state. It was like he was completely drained both mentally and physically.

Even thought his restriction is quite light compared to her, she was sure that he was experiencing hell everyday due to how he look each time he gets visited and returned to his cell. In fact she doesn't even know for just how long has he been in this place. With such quite an isolation, it wouldn't be weird if a person would actually go crazy from this situation.

If Ryuuji and his friends held a special meaning to her, Argie on the other hand was even more so. After all he was the sole person who broke her out of her confinement and the sole reason why she saw and learned the world itself. That was the greatest gift she received from him.

"Argie... How long have you been here?"

"Me? I've stopped counting the moment a week had passed... I mean what's the use of counting the days here? Its not like i would be able to get out of here alive"

Hearing his words, Claire went silent for a bit as she wonders if her fate would also be just like him. At this point on, Argie had already given up on escaping the place. After all he knows the most why he was being hunted down by the group itself despite being one of its ex-member.

Due to his innate curiosity and cravings, he actually tried to harm the groups leader and even went far to actually compromise numerous of their operations in the past. Due to his past actions, he then made a name for himself which guaranteed the full attention of the organization.

For a group as themselves who simply wanted to lay low, such an act was really something unprecedented.

In fact they weren't known as a terrorist group before. They were in fact a type of a mercenary group which is literally separate from a governments rule and restriction. Yes they may have offended some of the countries in the past, but it weren't to the point that every country was hostile to them.

Back then the group itself was quite huge to the point that they have more than about a 100 members, they could even be regarded as a small army and their leader August wasn't like the cold person they know today. The mercenary group back then were like family, everyone was looking out for each other.

However due to Argie everything changes, numerous people in their mercenary group were either killed or captured by the organization. the whole mercenary group itself then were branded as the terrorist and enemy to all country.

Due to Argie's action of killing a lot of people during the originations anniversary gathering back in Berlin, which consist of a lot of important figures, a lot of grudges then begun aiming at them as a whole all over the place. After all Argie's action back then represented the will of the group, thus they were all generalized.

From then even August attitude and behavior changed due to numerous life and death situation of being hunted down.

As if that wasn't enough of a problem, Argie went on to do more crazy things, but this time it was aimed for the whole group. Under August unsuspecting gaze, Argie conducted a lot of research and investigation in numerous places before finding a tint of something that interest him. Afterwards he then begun his experiment on the combination of humans and the chaos beings and it primary source of humans back then was the group itself.

From that point people begun to go missing in the group as time goes on. In fact no one even  suspected anything due to their current situation. They all thought that the missing people were either captured by the organization or were killed in their encounter. But the moment the missing people rose to twenty, doubt then begun to spread within the group.

The start of this spark was one of the guys within the group who goes on a rampage after realizing that his girlfriend went missing one day. The guy was so enraged that he blamed the group itself for killing his girlfriend and covering it up as an MIA. AT that the point of rage exceeded its maximum limit as he attack the whole group solely by himself.

Due to its strength being recognized personally by August, the guys was able to kill at least five of the members of the group in his wake. Due to that August had no choice but to end everything by killing the guy he recognized himself.

However that was the time when everything was laid bare. Due to the ir fight, everything crumbled down as all manners of tricks and hidings were destroyed in the process. After the battle had ended, everyone found Argie's lab and saw a mountain of corpses being used in his experiments. Among those corpses were the guy who August killed claimed to be his girlfriend. Alongside her, were the bodies of the other groups missing members.

Upon realizing that a snake had actually been hiding within them rage filled the whole group as they turned and attacked Argie himself. But before they could vent their anger on him, the person himself had already escaped the place while bringing important documents with him. By suing the commotion were August was fully occupied, Argie had slipped away escaping the place.

From that point the whole terrorist group were then also hostile to him to the point that they wanted him dead. In fact he was quite surprised on why he was not yet killed after all this time.

Now thanks to Claire's circumstances and the time he spent with her, Argie himself had slightly changed. Even thought he showed a slight hint of change, the other members of the terrorist group wouldn't buy it as rage was much heavier than sympathy for them. The only reason why he is alive was because he still has a purpose.

Since they offended the organization once more after attacking London, they are sure to receive a full retaliation on the other side as they will try their best to actually eliminate everyone in the group. Thus in order to have a fighting chance, they need Argie's enhanced drugs in order to fully fight back.

As a small group themselves, they will now be facing a whole army aiming for their heads, thus preparation were necessary.
