Chapter 7

As we reached the stairs, we were glad to realize the CLAKing of claws had faded behind us. Eli and I picked our way down the single flight of stairs, which had rubble scattered down them from the shaking, braking parts of the ceiling off. when we got to the bottom of the stairs we both glanced around. There was no one to be found, no people, no demons, no bugs, even the air was completely still. Eli and I then glanced at each other and began the walk down the long hallway. Our school was shaped like a giant square U with a diamond shape protruding out of the bottom left corner, which served as the main office. Mr.balmers room was in the top Right of the U shape on the top floor, and so we had the farthest to go to the cafeteria, other than the sports locker rooms. The cafeteria was located in the bottom middle of the U shape. Since we didn't know if there was anything following us or if there was anyone left in the building, we quietly walked through the hallway glancing into all the open doors and windows to classrooms we could see. Most classrooms were the same as me.clarns room, debris was scattered across the floor, windows were shattered, there was occasional claw marks and blood smears. Strangely no other rooms we saw had any people in them alive or dead. We we're coming up to my favorite teachers room, Mr.Ramirez, he was my old biology teacher but we were still close even though I hadn't had him in years. "hey, I'm going to take a closer look at Mr.Ram's room" I whispered to Eli. He just nodded his head knowing he was my favorite teacher. "Mr.Ram" as I often called him, was a short but stocky Hispanic man with a full black beard, he looked kind of menacing at first but once you got to know him and listen to him teach he could grow on anybody. Hoping that I would get to see my favorite teachers face at least on last time I walked up to his room. Oddly his door was shut and the first door we had come across that was closed. Giving Eli a glance I moved forward towards the door and rested my hand on the handle. I had a bad feeling about this but I wanted to see his face at least one last time and had to know if he was here, gone, or possibly dead. Steeling my nerves, I took a deep breath then pushed the door open...
