Victor strolls down into the hangar, bored how he have to be on a constant leash on medication. The food was great, but he hoped for more vegetables, noting how the chicken here was fatter than in Sector A. He had barely bathed and was itching. Probably everyone upstairs was playing poker with Leroy. But he felt really desperate to see the work on his robot, though he doubt it could be in good looking shape.
He spots the two pilots who saved him, all staring at his robot with a laptop as mechanics and engineers all fix his armaments. His right armor was completely stripped, its charred shell sat crumbling into pieces. Now in place of his previous arm was a weird mechanical arm. It's hand was completely out of shape of his robot, boxy and metallic. Nearby, pieces for an oversized arm are being prepped. At the back of the robot, the hidden component is removed with his sword like funnels inspected.
"Hey how it going?" He asked as the duo turned, all perplexed. One had a white beard with a huge scar by his face. Half-blind, he was puffy from the number of times in his robot. The other was a muscular dude with unruly messy black hair that was in better shape than Victor. He looked like a rookie but both piloted robots seemed capable of going up against Revel Types just like in those ancient anime. The old man looked at him and talked with concern, "What kind of system was installed? This system in the cockpit has unstable data!"
"I went to an organization called Teck Toph Industries, you know that one who has companies in Sector A and C?" He said as both nodded. He continued, "I told them to create a system to control the funnels and predict opponent's actions."
"Are you sure it was done by them? Because I have doubts that you can control such a machine!" The young man said, annoyed and troubled at what he was seeing as he passed Victor the laptop. Huge irregular spikes were all over with numbers that were at this point unable to be captured. All the readings had red highlights. Victor eyes widened as the young man continued, "Even there is someone with superpowers to reduce the stress, it would only be one in a million of people. Otherwise they would come back with major internal injuries. You are a human who lack the proper abilities to use the suit. Why-" he stammered as the old man, confidently looked at him as he took over the conversation, "Alright Eddy, let's not downplay his abilities and fret." He looks at the young man, agitated and rather doubtful of his abilities as he looks away with aggression.
"Hmph."
His face looking up away from Victor, rather disappointed and unsatisfied with his skills as he shuts his mouth. He continued, "Victor, as pilots, we are all concerned since these amount of stress are too much, extremely fatal for a human. I believe that is also the reason for your medication right?" His words surprised Victor, thinking maybe he spotted him eating his meds.
He nods hesitantly, wondering how long could his injuries be kept. The man continued, "So, we massively downscaled the amount of stress, so now you would only have four funnels, the other two are made into your old arm. Your job is to clear the path for us. Thus, your robot would have more armor, your robot now transforms with simple controls that are to be added. So far, your shotgun has been improved to have more range. To carry your bulk. Two disposable massive boosters are planned to be placed at the back. We cannot be complacent that they won't come up with something. Just endure your pain alright. I, Yan would look after you."
He gulped as the head is removed to upgrade the monitor. Wondering what Lyx would come up with and his 'minions'.
Meanwhile somewhere in The Light of Men
Ken strokes the glass in partial sadness, looking at what remained of Atsuki in the air-tight was liquid chamber. He feels weird how he has so much hatred and anger flowing through him with other emotions completely gone. Yet he feel a tinge of sadness still around, despite knowing how it mostly left him after that day.
He wished Silvia was still around. He hated to admit but he admired her bravery, to stand up to others. She was a fun girl to party with after work. He constantly was happy watching her taunting Hanson. But he feels that he is too dumb to follow her. When he found her, truly dead on top of a sport car with aged skin, he knew that Hanson got his revenge. As she still laid dead in the same spot above the chambers, he watched Atsuki. Her vital organs amazingly saved. But she would now be reborn as a cyborg with her legs and hips completely unsavable. He hears how Ambar is working on her solution. He looks on, hoping to protect her the way he couldn't with Silvia by cleansing the evil in the globe.
He looks around the other empty liquid tubes. All vacant and barely used with a cold cloud covering the thick glass. Probably originally used for VIPs... At the end of one corner of the long place, he spots one armored room, completely without markings yet fully obvious. It was the only room unable to be accessed, not even they know. He growled, what other secrets are they hiding?
"Why are you here?"
Lyx stood by the door, limping to Ken as he taps his neck, "Do you want to know what she would become?" It asked as Ken replied, now with a cold accent, "Sure."
"Follow me," Lyx gestured him to follow as he looked at her 'remains' before moving. The Light of Men was much bigger than Ken originally had thought. Going up the stairs past dead corpses and party decorations, the light fizzled under the large dark and damp hangar. Twenty stories tall underground. Rooms were filled with medical equipment ready for what seemed like experimentation. Special chambers all dedicated to 'research' on individuals. They made down the bottom, past a huge dark corridor he has yet to explore was a wall full of Ambar's mini robots, all the size of a shelf in a small cabinet with hexagonal shapes and large turrets. They were mass-producing each other, making sure that there is enough manpower to arm the interior.
Ken looks ahead to see a giant robot being tended by Ambar's mini robots on what seemed like a movable platform. It looked even monstrous than the other robots seen so far. It was a muscular robot with 'wings of steel' that was placed on the ground and being built along. A large metal piece covered its chest in an iconic shape. Similar to a comic Ambar always told him he looked at: Mazinger Zero. It had yet to be painted with just a dark grey outer shape. It has a actual working mouth with teeth, making Ken wonder if this was even alive. Meanwhile on the side, Ambar sat in solidarity, working a huge chip.
"How is it going?" Lyx asked, seemingly pleased, though through the black sludge and machine components, it seemed to be in pain as it clutched his hand on his head. Earlier on he realized how a chip went missing and had failed to retrieve it from those thieves. Ambar, who had finished smoldering a chip looked at him optimistically, "She is ready, using the tube downstairs, her mind is hooked up to this chip. So now even if it goes, she can still protect the building." He walks to a robot as it carefully rises to the robots head. He opening a lid, adding it to its large amount of electronics and comes down. Within a few seconds, they grinned. The robots eyes turning Amber as it made a metallic purr.
"Argh..." Lyx clutched it's hand by the back as it sat down. The lack of a chip has been making his mind dull and his actions disappointing. Ken careful placed it by the floor as Ambar's mini robots tended to his wounds. They looked on, excited. They were ready. She was too as she angrily glared. It had been too long for her revenge.
Their revenge.
