Chapter 33: Midnight Reaction
It was nearly 10:00 pm when they arrived in front of the Mori Detective Agency, Ran took off the seatbelt as she went out of the passenger seat. She couldn't help but ask while fixing her hair as the car doesn't have a roof which made her hair freeze midair .
"Do you want to go inside and have a cup of tea? My dad should be at home."
"Although I am very happy to receive a beautiful girl's invitation to drink a cup of tea inside your house, but it is still inappropriate to go into a girl's home in the middle of the night. But I do appreciate your consideration."
Seiya walks out the car and held her hand while saying this, she felt happy for his complement but also feel sad for rejecting her request. Seiya couldn't help but give her a head pat before saying.
"Now, go upstair. You are probably too tired from the park. I see you again next time."
Seiya didn't give her time to speak as he started the car and drove away, Ran could only see the disappearing edge of the 1962 black Chevrolet corvette car. She then looks down and saw Seiya's blue jacket was still in her hands, she remembered that Inspector Megure said Seiya was their new consultant. So Ran decided to go to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police tomorrow to return his jacket, Seiya who was driving had a smirk in his face as he began thinking of planning to buy a house. It was 10:30 pm when he arrived back to the Suzuki's Mansion, in which he saw Ayako in her pajama while holding her pillow as she doze off in the sofa at the living room.
Seiya couldn't help but pinch Ayako's sleeping face which he knew was her acting, since he felt a certain gaze when he park his car. Ayako who was acting started to turn her doze mode off as she looks at Seiya with her crescent eyes while speaking softly like she was in joy.
"Your home! I thought something bad happened to you."
"Silly! I just went to the amusement park after finishing my meeting with the principal."
Seiya pats her head as he sat beside her while talking about his experience today, he only excluded the part of meeting some dangerous people. Ayako felt sour hearing about taking Ran back to her home while she invited him for tea, that felt like dangerous signal but hearing that he rejected her invitation while also remembering that Ran has a childhood sweetheart made her categorize Ran as the lowest threat. But little did she know that she was dead wrong to categorize her as the lowest threat. Ayako began acting like a baby as she said while wrapping her hands around his neck without negotiation.
"Can you carry me back to my bed?"
"Sure why not, but why are you acting like a baby tonight?"
"Hmph! *sniffing his scent* "
Ayako spoke in a muffled voice as she smelled his scent, Ayako didn't know that a blue eyes was staring at her as the eye's dark figure appeared from the kitchen's doorway. Seiya could already guess it was Sonoko who was spying onto the living room, he slowly walks up stairs as he went to Ayako's room which was close to Sonoko's room. He then placed Ayako onto her bed as he removed her hands which was still reluctantly to let go, he then said
"Good Night, Ayako.."
He was about to leave but the edge of his shirt was held by Ayako as she ordered like she was going to start a tantrum if she doesn't get it.
"I want a good night kiss!"
Seiya sighed as he moved his body forward and gave her a forehead kiss, Ayako's cheek turns red as she produced steam on top of her head while slowly going down the blanket. He went out of Ayako's room but he bumps into Sonoko who was showing him a hesitant expression as she ask.
"Brother Seiya, can you come with me for a second?"
"Sure, what's the matter?"
Seiya curiously ask as he lets her pull him over to her room, she then closed her door as Seiya sat on her bed as he carefully titled his head. Sonoko who was going to do something she has never done before was nervous so she walks toward Seiya who ask.
"Is there a problem?"
"No, I just want to do this!"
Sonoko grabs Seiya's cheek as she push her lip onto his lip, Seiya's eye shrank as he wasn't expecting that she wanted to kiss him. Sonoko who was kissing Seiya immediately felt like the background change as what she desired was showing up again, they kissed for a few seconds before Seiya reluctantly move her away which made her feel lost and confuse. Seiya coughs as he said while standing up.
"*cough* Sonoko, although I don't know why you wanted to kiss me. But our relationship at the moment seem inappropriate, so I'm going to go back to my bed and rest. But good night and have a sweet dream Sonoko."
Seiya rub her head before walking outside her room and going towards his room, he didn't know that when Sonoko was staring at him walking through the hallway. The door of Ayako's room opened as a lightning fsat hand appeared and pulls Sonoko inside Ayako's room as her screaming was muffled, Seiya went to his room first to acquire some pajamas before going to the bathroom to take a hot shower. He didn't know the hidden conflict behind his back.
