Proving Em' Wrong

As soon as the battle ended, Kakashi simply casually sheathed his blade along his back before casually walking back up the stairs and towards his original spot in the gallery.

Although Guy sustained some injuries due to opening the gates, the damage dealt to him was significantly less than that of lee, as he is stronger than Lee at the time, not to mention that he didn't get crushed by sand by a jinchuriki.

Soon enough, Guy was hulled off to the medical bay to sleep and complete some recovery, and the final participants of this round of the chunin exams took their positions.

Doto: "For the final match of the second round of the Chunin Exams: Asuma Sarutobi vs Obito Uchiha."

Asuma: "Y'know, I remember the days of your first year in the academy, you were just terrible. Honestly, the only reason you were able to succeed later on is because you clung to Shisui and Mizuki. Just give up."

Obito: "Please, your just scared about how badly I'm gonna whoop your ass this match"

Doto: "Are you both ready?"

Obito: "Yes"

Asuma: "Ya"

Doto: "Ok then, you may begin."

. . . . .

As Mizuki began to finish up gathering the last of his chakra, he awakened to the sound of several pairs of footsteps, as the doors of the temporary medical bay opening to reveal the Medics carrying Guy in on a stretcher.

Seeing Mizuki's gaze at the new patient, one of the medics suddenly spoke up.

Medic: "He has some fractures along the bones in his arms and legs, and some of his muscles shredded as well. Besides that, there is just some bruising in areas, he'll be up and running in a couple of weeks."

Mizuki simply gave a small nod, as a slight smile adorned his face, relieved that yet another one of those who he cares about haven't become gravely injured.

Mizuki: {It's probably just damage from opening up the eight gates, I am curious how powerful Kakashi is now though, knowing that he was able to beat a Fifth Gate Guy.}

Speaking of Anko though..

*SNORE*

Mizuki: {God damnit}

The boy thought to himself before letting loose a deep sigh.

Mizuki: {Never did I think I would see the day where I thought that seeing somebody snore is absolutely adorable.}

Mizuki: {No doubt about it, she caught you buddy, might as well seize the opportunity to enjoy some nice wholesome moments. You didn't transmigrate just to be concerned about your mental age after all.}

However, at that moment, Mizuki's thoughts were interrupted by one of the medics, who ducked his head back into the infirmary.

Medic: "Oh, and by the way Mizuki..."

Mizuki: "Hm? What is it?"

Medic: "Your match is up next, you should probably get going some time soon"

Mizuki: "Ok thanks! I'll be there in a few minutes, I just wanna keep her company for a bit longer."

The Medic flashed Mizuki a "knowing" smirk before turning around and walking away, although not before making a couple of less than subtle comments about how Mizuki was a "good boyfriend."

Comments which he, in his great maturity, simply accepted, again not even bothering to correct the medic about their relationship.

Mizuki soon returned to his thoughts as the medic turned around, actually leaving this time, and let loose a deep sigh as he thought about what had occurred previously to Anko in her previous match with Idate.

Unknowingly, his left hand clenched rapidly into a fist, and some killing intent began to be emitted to his body.

Thankfully, everybody who could sense it was either too far away or too unconcious to notice.

Mizuki: "I'm gonna break that son of a bitch"

. . . . . .

Obito Knew that Asuma would try to approach him in order to force the fight to close range combat.

So, as soon as the match began, Obito immediately started by welding a series of hand signs as he leapt away in order to gain even more distance from his opponent.

Obito: "Katon: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

A large orb of flames came out of Obito's mouth, slowly advancing towards Asuma's position.

As the fireball advanced and the bottom of it scraped against the stone floor, it scorched it completely, even vaporizing portions of it.

Asuma frowned slightly seeing the oncoming attack, before infusing chakra into his feet before leaping into the air leaping over the backflip as he leaned over the fireball and fell, in a manner similar to a high jumper.

As he fell, he began to infuse his weapon with chakra, causing it to glow blue before expanding until it became the length of a short sword.

Seeing this, Obito muttered slightly before throwing several shuriken at precise angles, all of which had wires attached to them.

As the shuriken wrapped around around Asuma, the wires around them began to tighten around him, he simply used the chakra blade to cut the wires, which were sliced through like a hot knife through butter.

However, by this point, Obito had already achieved his objective.

The wire was never meant to entrap Asuma, instead it was intended to slow him so that Obito could prepare for a counter attack.

In the time which Obito had bought, he quickly created a shadow clone, which he proceeded to use as a springboard.

He then launched himself upwards, before focusing chakra into his right foot before simply slamming it into Asuma's stomach, causing the boy to cough up blood before rocketing back down to the earth.

Asuma slammed against the ground, coughing up blood as he impacted it, even bouncing a couple of times before skidding to a stop.

Obito again used shadow clones in order to throw himself to the roof, where he applied chakra to his feet and promptly dashed across it.

Eventually, he arrived directly overtop his now nearly defeated opponent, where he promptly drew two kunai from his pouch and leapt towards him, letting gravity assist him in accelerating towards his opponent.

Seeing this, Asuma was just barely able to roll away before Obito arrived at his previous position kicking the ground, causing the surrounding earth to shake as cracks emerged beneath his feet.

His initial failure of an attack did little to dissuade him, as Obito rushed towards him and executed a series of swift kunai strikes, which Asuma was able to evade.

Growing cocky, the Sarutobi thought that he had won the battle, as he suddenly cut Obito with his Flying Swallow Jutsu, only to be surprised when the boy disappeared into a puff of smoke.

A shadow clone.

By that point however, it was too late for Asuma, as the real Obito executed a tactic similar to the shadow clone, dive bombing Asuma, although there was one key difference.

There was not enough time for Asuma to dodge this time

However, just as Obito was about to make contact with the ground, Doto decided to interfere.

The proctor used his partial expansion jutsu in order to expand his hand and catch Obito as he fell, with the boy clearly being surprised at the turn of events.

Doto: "As I intervened, I now declare Obito our fourth and final semi-finalist."

Obito flashed Asuma a cheeky grin before turning around and giving Rin a thumbs up, who now was clapping her hands and cheering for him, which clearly had an affect on the boy.

However, just as Obito was about to leave he quickly turned around once again to face Asuma.

Obito: "Told you I'd whoop your ass"

And with that, Obito cheerfully hummed to himself as he ascended to the gallery, facing Rin with a bright smile now decorating his face.
