High Premonition

"Going out now?" Gu Chen noticed that Jian Sangyu had gotten changed and put on some makeup. "Where are you going?"

"Looking for a job." Jian Sangyu tried hard to make herself sound normal. Then she took up a pair of chopsticks and sat down opposite to Gu Chen.

"You do have a high skill of premonition." Gu Chen praised Jian Sangyu as he lowered his head and checked his watch. Then he stood up. "I am going back to the team. Call me if you need anything."

Gu Chen didn't ask what job Jian Sangyu was looking for. As far as he was concerned, Jian Sangyu was involved with music, so the job she was looking for should be related to the piano.

Hearing that Gu Chen was leaving, Jian Sangyu instantly put down the chopsticks and stood up with him, looking just like the obedient wife before she was reborn who was getting ready to see Gu Chen off at his door in case he left something behind.

Yet as she stood up, she realized that she had behaved very stupidly as she saw Gu Chen getting everything ready and heading towards the door. She made a small move to the door, but she saw that Gu Chen had already bent down to put on the shoes, making her hesitate for a second, wondering if she was going to see him off. Seeing Gu Chen straightening up his back, closing the door and leaving without sparing one more look at her, Jian Sangyu smiled as she was standing on the spot. It didn't matter whether she was seeing him off or not. He was not making a sound in protest either way at all, right?

This testing move in the morning made Jian Sangyu realize that she could do whatever she wanted to do after Gu Chen left home.

She patted her head – she was a woman who was going to divorce Gu Chen so why must she still behave so timidly? If he couldn't stand her behavior, he could just divorce her too!

It would be just a matter of time before he got fed up with the real her.

After breakfast, Jian Sangyu put away the chopsticks and left home gleefully. She was driving to her friend Mina's company.

Mina had been Jian Sangyu's good friend since childhood. They had been sharing the same desk since middle school and when they reached high school, Mina went abroad to study law whilst she started to learn music. That was the only time when they were separate. After graduation, both of them returned home with Mina being an intern lawyer at her mother's company and Jian Sangyu marrying Gu Chen straightaway.

Jian Sangyu was actually almost two years younger than Mina, because of her skipping grades in primary school. She was an early graduate of university, yet that didn't prevent her from being a good friend with Mina for years.

When Jian Sangyu came to the law firm, Mina had just finished a meeting. When she saw Jian Sangyu standing at the door waiting for her, she lunged herself at Jian Sangyu despite wearing high-heels.

"What brought you here, Mrs. Gu? I got so startled when I received your text this morning." Mina gave Jian Sangyu a very big hug. "I haven't seen you for ages. Honestly, we are living in the same city yet we seem to be so far apart from each other."

"You are too busy to meet me." Jian Sangyu rolled her eyes and pushed Mina away. "Don't hug me. It is crazily hot in here! I need you for something."

"Let's talk in our office." Mina released Jian Sangyu and took her arm instead. "I heard from Jiang Xing that Brother Gu Chen was home yesterday? Did he hug you so tightly that you turned down my hug today?"

"Ask him again right in Gu Chen's face. Don't tease me – that doesn't work." Jian Sangyu stretched out her hand to give a caress upon Mina's shoulder-length short hair. "Oh right, you have a cousin who is an agent, right? Can you set me up with her?"

"Alright, I am not as bold as you." Mina instantly became an obedient girl when she heard the name of Gu Chen. But when she heard Jian Sangyu asking about her cousin, she let out a sigh of wonder. "Why? Are you going to become a superstar?"
