Three Minutes, Please

No matter how much money Gu Chen has, Jian Sangyu had never once laid eyes upon his properties. So she never cared about his money and even if they were to be divorced, she was not going to get any money from Gu Chen either.

With Gu Chen and Jian Sangyu alone at home after Gu Qingxi left, Jian Sangyu found it extremely boring as she watched the silent man making tea. So she ran into the kitchen and when she heard the nanny mumbling about running out of soy and ginger, Jian Sangyu raised up her hands.

"Aunt, let me know what you need. I can go to the supermarket and buy them for you!" Compared to sitting at home and watching Gu Chen's face, it was a much better plan to go out to buy something whilst sneaking in some snacks.

When the nanny heard that Jian Sangyu was going out, she was extremely pleased. "That is great. I happen to need to watch the soup in the pot! Ms. Gu says that everyone is going to be at home for lunch, so I do need to make some preparations."

"Thank you for your hard work, Aunty." Jian Sangyu flattered her. "I will help you when I am done shopping!"

Having said those words, Jian Sangyu walked out from the kitchen full of glee. Her purse was on the sofa, and the car key was still in Gu Chen's hands, so she had to go over to him.

Before she was able to say anything, Gu Chen had already spoken when he saw her grabbing the purse. "Where are you going?"

"To the supermarket to buy some things for Aunty." Jian Sangyu answered quickly. Then she stretched out her palm to Gu Chen. "Give me the car keys. I need to drive there."

The closest supermarket was twenty minutes away from the Gu Family's house. One would be toasted to a crisp if he didn't drive there on such a hot day like this.

Gu Chen threw a look at Jian Sangyu's white hands. Her piano fingers were slender and beautiful, and even her palm was paler than most people's.

"I will go with you." Gu Chen started to put away the tea making tools. "Give me three minutes, please."

Jian Sangyu felt that she had been smashed by a row of exclamation marks.

"Can I say no?" Jian Sangyu asked with a small voice. "I can go there myself."

Gu Chen stopped whatever he was doing and then looked up at Jian Sangyu, who was pursing her lips and twisting her fingers. Without giving an answer, he stood up, put away the tea tools and walked past Jian Sangyu.

He took a look at her face and suddenly raised his hand to reach out to her.

Jian Sangyu was suddenly startled. She took two steps backwards. "What are you doing, Gu Chen!"

He would not hit her as he wished, just because she wanted to go out?

"What did you think I was going to do?" Gu Chen frowned. "Did you think that I am going to hit you?"

Gu Chen found it so ridiculous. Was he some violent man that would hit his wife just like she had assumed?

After asking Jian Sangyu, Gu Chen stretched out his hand to press down her shoulders. He was not that gentle, but he brushed off the powder on her face. "Why not wipe your mouth after sneaking the snacks."

Having said that, he walked out without taking one more look at Jian Sangyu. He picked up the car key and took a step forward. When he reached the door and saw that Jian Sangyu was not following behind him, he turned around and urged the girl who was standing there transfixed. "Are we going or not?"

"Yes, yes!" Jian Sangyu replied with a softer voice. She no longer sounded so gleeful and as happy as she did a moment ago when she was asking him for the car keys.

It felt totally different to go out alone and to go out with Gu Chen.

She had been laughing with happiness and now she was feeling so depressed.
