Chapter 26- The Ceremony-part 2

As the multitude of colored lights came closer to me, I noticed that those closest to me weren't truly lights, but rather tiny little people who were gowned and glowed a certain color. Each was different with no two looking alike. Excited I reached out my hand ever so carefully and slowly so as not to startle these little things. They appeared small even to the 2 year old me.

They seemed to be communicating with each other and after a few minutes there appeared to be 7 colored lights within my reach, while all the other lights had moved away from me. Each of the six was a different color. The first colored light I reached for was the yellow. It was a sweet looking girl in a flouncy spring dress. She had yellow hair, a cute button nose, and a sweet smile. I could literally fit her in the palm of my hand. A soon as she touched my skin, I could understand her clearly although it seemed as if it was in my head and not with my ears.

"He-he" she said laughed in a cute childish voice before she disappeared.

I was slightly disappointed that she went away, but my attention was redirected to what I thought was a white light, and now that it was much closer, realized that it was in fact more a silver. It was a little young boy with spiky silver hair that appeared to have sparkles in it and dressed in what appeared to be a silver jumpsuit. As soon as I touched him, he also disappeared.

A girl with a purple fairy looking dress with a crown of purple flowers on her head. She had purple hair, a button nose, and a sweet smile. As soon as I touched her, she also disappeared, but not before waving at the other lights that were still within my reach.

Then the red light came closer to me; appearing as a red headed little boy with cute little freckles on his button nose. He was dressed in baggy red pants and cropped red shirt which slightly rolled up from his slightly protruding belly. His eyes and smile seemed more on the mischievous side. He hopped onto my hand and promptly disappeared as well.

I couldn't help but wonder if this was what was supposed to happen, or if I was being rejected by this little people. While pondering over this, I didn't notice when the green light got close to my hand. I barely saw him before he disappeared. I was frustrated that I didn't even get a good look at him; assuming this was probably the only time in this lifetime that I was going to get to see anything, much less colors.

After missing the green light, I made sure not to let my mind wander again so as not to miss any of the other colors. The blue light was next; appearing as a little girl with blue hair while wearing what appeared to be a blue parka. She had such a determined look that reflected in her stunning blue eyes. I realized that I never really noticed any of the other little people's eyes before hers. She too disappeared as soon as she touched my hand.

Next was the brown sprite. She appeared to be wearing hides and carrying a bow. She was the first that was carrying something with her. She had brown hair which had multiple shades of brown and dark brown eyes. She was the first to not be smiling, but she didn't seem to be frowning either; which added to her look of being steady and dependable. Before I could move my hand away, she grabbed my finger and proceeded to also disappear.

All the lights had disappeared much to my disappointment, or so I thought until I realized that there hadn't been 7 lights, but actually 8. The eighth light was in fact a black light, therefore really hard to notice. As he came closer I realized that he had black hair and eyes and was dressed in what appeared to be black leather with chains down the side of his pants and a black collar around his neck. This time I was ready and when he moved close to my hand I was able to move my hand away in time so he didn't disappear like the others.

To my amazement and horror, he began to cry.

"What's wrong?" I asked him.

'Of course he'd feel sad when being rejected by you' I heard a voice say.

"I didn't reject him, I just wanted to him to stay with me and not disappear like the others"

'What disappear? We are all with you' the voice said again.

I focused my mental eyes on my own body and realized that there were 7 lights nestled inside me in what appeared to be little caves.

'Quickly grab him before he leaves' another voice commanded.

I brought my focus back out and found that the black light was still balling and now this cute face was even cuter with snot and tears running down his face.

"I'm sorry little guy" I apologized as I reached out to touch him. He disappeared like the others, but now knowing that they weren't gone for good, I was feeling much happier. After they were all nestled inside me, a chill came over the air, dispelling the warmth that was present previously and I quickly retracted my aura when I heard the large stone door open back up. Directly after the doors opening another temple helper, this time a young man, carried me back to the waiting area of the cathedral where both my parents and siblings were waiting for me.

"What name do you want to be recorded?" The same man who had registered me under my parents' names at the beginning asked.

"We will notify you within the allotted amount of time" my dad reassured the man before escorting us all back to the waiting carriage. Each time one of those little lights touched me I felt like I had less and less energy. By the time we made it to the carriage, I had passed out due to lack of energy and stress.
