Chapter Six: Man to Man

" What do you mean to meet you in person?" The assistant said a little sacred.

" I need to see you in person before I can trust you in giving me orders. " The Shadowman said.

" Okay but, I don't even know where you are." The assistant said.

" Oh, we are in an abandoned house. The third house down on Maydale Drive I want you here in 30 minutes or the team-up is over." The Shadowman said turning off the earpiece.

In Luke's house.

Shit, I wasn't prepared to meet them. What am I going to do?" Luke said throwing clothes out of his closet looking for something to wear. Luke settled with a black hoodie on and a black mask covering most of his face except for his eyes and hair.

Luke opened his window but, realize that he was on the second floor. "Crap, I can't take a fall like that." Luke thought as he looked down.

Luke was at his door about to open it when he started hearing yelling coming from downstairs. He hesitated to open his door. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He opened his eyes opening the door and rushing down the stairs. He saw no one in the living room so he walked past it to realize it was coming from the kitchen so he opened the front door and left.

A few minutes later. Luke stands in front of the door of the third house on Maydale Drive. Luke hesitated before opening the door. Luke took a deep breath and opened the door to see no one in the first room. Where is everyone I thought this was the house? Luke thought as he stepped onto trash on the floor. Pieces of paper and dirt were everywhere. Luke saw a stairway leading up so he went up the stairs.

Luke saw three doors. Luke walked to the first door and opened it to see it was a bathroom. Luke went to the second door and opened to see that the Neo, Cataclysmic, Forbidden woman and the Shadowman were all at the table. Luke was shocked to see them.

" You're the assistant. I always wanted to talk to you in person. You have the voice of someone who thinks that they have everything figured out." The Shadowman said getting up walking over to Luke.

" Yeah, you also have that type of voice and looks," The Assistant said trying to deepen his voice.

" So take off the mask. You need I want to see your face." The Shadowman said suddenly and seriously walking into The Assistant's face.

" What are you talking about. I can't just show you my face." The Assistant said backing up, shaking.

" Why don't you trust me. You better take off that mask if you know what's good for you." The Shadowman demanded. The other heroes' expression changed ever so slightly.

" Sir, All due respect, I can't take off this mask. I have no powers so if you wanted to you could use this against me. I can't protection myself against superhumans so that why I usually stay behind the screen. I beg I have, people, I want to protect. If you can't understand then I can't work with you." The Assistant said looking at the Shadowman, shaking still. He smiled.

" That's impressive. You stood up against something you know could kill you if they wanted to. And, by the way, try not to shake so much not time. You make it so easy to make play with you." The Shadowman said. He's terrified of superhumans makes sense, different in strength and everything. The Shadowman thought as he walked back to his seat.

All the other heroes were staying up and they were prepared to attack the Shadowman.

" Now that's over can we get back to business. Assistant, Please tell us what you found." Neo said.

" Okay, so um... Snowman has four major supporters. Only two of them live in Hawks and two others don't ever come into Hawks so Snowman usually deals with a middle man. I have deduced that one of the two who live in Hawks has to be supporting him because there are no Blacksnow drug reports outside the city. Neo will send you guys the locations of there hideouts." The Assistant said.

" Thanks, Assistant you have given us a lot thanks for all your help. Sorry for making you come here." Neo said smiling.

"You are welcome. I have to leave now so yeah." The Assistant said leaving the room.

" We will split up into groups. I and the Cataclysmic will be looking into one of his supporters and Shadowman you will be with Forbidden Woman looking into the other. Now let's go." Neo said as everyone walked out of the room.

A few minutes later on a sidewalk walking is Luke. Luke looked at his phone to see six texts. Luke opened to see they were from Ms. Sten.

I wonder what she wants. Luke thought as he clicked on the notification. To see that one said " Come to the lab now." another said," You are in danger please come to the lab." another said," Snowman is looking for you please come to the lab.". Luke had a scared look on his face.

How would she know? Is She working with Snowman? Luke thought as he looked around him. He saw two guys wearing hoods behind him. Luke started shaking purposely. This can't be I didn't do anything to set him off. I need to run away. I need to run. RUN LUKE. WHY can't I run. Luke thought as his body just stay still. Luke looked at the men following him to see that one of the men's eyes were glowing.

I can't move. I going to die here. Why I can't die here. I didn't even say goodbye to Alexis. Why am I so weak. Body please move. Luke thought as the men came closer. Other men whose eyes were not glowing. He punched Luke. Then they started beating Luke up. As Luke couldn't move.
