Chapter 20: the new leaf blade

Laying, sprawled out on the ground Ted lay. Blood dripping from his head. His expression: surprised. Surprised at how strong the spirit seemed to him. To throw him with such force to blast him into breaking the parameter fence surrounding the school. This is what he was laying on top of. How? How could this spirit be this strong in such a short amount of time? He thought this question over and over to himself. Putting his hands on the broken fence behind him to pry himself off. He stumbled to his feet. His head was still pounding from being flung all that way. Everything around him seemed to spin for a split second. He almost fell, but caught himself before he did. He then sighed. He closed his eyes and pulled out his blade once more. He just stood there for a minute or two and then decided to run back to the fight. Blood dripping from his head, he dashed back but stopped when he was a little ways away. He could see the back of what looked to be the spirit from earlier. 'Could it be a satanic spirit already?' He thought.

He then turned his attention to Mikka who was scared frozen. Mikka just didn't seem to want to attack the beast. Ted then remembered what Mikka said to him before they even started this mission while he ripped a piece of cloth to wrap around the left side of his head that blood was dripping from. Mikka had said, "Why this one? Demonic spirits are not my favorite"

"I know Mikka, but we have to. We were called in for this," Ted said.

"But Alex doesn't even have his guns that kill demons like that."

"Yes, but that's demons not demonic spirits. They are vastly different."

"I know. Demons have a physical appearance that they use to possess and go in and out of people at will, while Demonic spirits don't and need a host to build themselves up to be satanic spirits where they make people sick and stuff...I just wish I had a choice whether to do this or a normal spirit with anger issues to send it to the spirit world."

"I know your concern, Mikka, but it's a high school. We have to make absolutely sure that everyone will be okay."

He never knew why Mikka always acted like this. They never really talk about it. Probably because it wasn't ever brought up.

Ted took a deep breath and stood to his feet. With his blade in his right hand, he then charged at the creature. Before getting to the creature, he then stopped. He saw blood dripping on the ground in front of the creature. With shock and utter terror, he absolutely knew who that was.

"Len...," he said trying to grasp at what he just witnessed. The monster then flung Len's seemingly lifeless body as if it were made of paper. Blood splattered everywhere as Len's body landed on the ground. Ted could tell that Len was trying to hold on to what little air he had left. Ted then witnessed Mikka starting to cry. Mikka then knelt down. Ted did the same and cupped his hands to his face. Now, he just felt sick. He felt like he was about to throw up, but he didn't. He couldn't. A fever came over him. He didn't know what to do. This is when he hear it. Hope. A cry and a scream.

"I HATE YOU!!," said the scream coming from where the monster was. The monster seemed to cry out in agony. Ted then removed his hands from his face and stared at what had just happen. With shock and disbelief, what he saw brought a smile to his face.

Standing there, fighting the demonic spirit, by herself, was Emily and in her hand...

...a green blade.
