Back when Emily's dad was happy with his life. Emily would always run and play with her brother, Roy. He was three years older than she was and she always looked up to him. Everything was happy, until their father got corrupted. The house became really depressing to live in. The constant fights, the arguing, and the abuse were too much to handle.
Once when Roy came back from school, he saw Emily waiting there like she always does.
"Emily!," Roy said as she ran up to her and hugged her. "...how is dad doing today...?"
Emily said nothing and just gazed into the house. All that shown through the window was the silouhett of their parents in a practical brawl. The dad screamed with rage, but there was a pain to that rage. They knew that nothing could help his situation.
"Not happy today either huh...," Roy said.
Emily just shook her head.
"Well...that's ok. I can tell you a story of what happened at school today," Roy said.
"Roy...can I ask you something...," Emily said.
"Sure...," Roy said puzzled at this new thing she said. She would always be up for listening to his stories, but today she wanted to know something.
"Can I go with you to school tomorrow...?," Emily asked.
"Emily...you know I cant do that...," Roy said.
"Why not...," Emily said with tears in her eyes. "Why cant I...you got to go to school at six years old..."
"...but Emily...you know what the doctor told me when I was your age...I told you...I dont have blade blood...my body cant draw spiritual energy...but yours can...," Roy said.
"...I dont wanna stay home...," Emily said and she heard the door open and shut behind her. She turned around to see an angry father standing outside the door.
"You think you can disrespect me, huh?!," their dad said as he stomped angrily toward them. His wife them followed him out.
"What are you going to do, Dave?! Stop! Dont hurt them!," their mom screamed at her husband.
"D-Dad...?," Roy screamed as his father lifted him up by the shirt and angrily gazed at him. Roy felt scared. He didnt know what his father was gonna do to him. Dave then looked over to his wife.
"You love your son, dont you?," Dave shouted with a maniacal grin on his face.
"Daddy! Daddy! Dont hurt him!," Emily screamed yanking on her father's shirt.
All Dave did was look down at Emily and kick her out of the way. She flew back and scraped her back on their lawn. The lawn dispersed as she fell, showing how she his the ground. Emily then began to cry.
"Stop it, Dave! That is quite enough. I dont want you to hurt anyone else...," his wife shouted at him.
"What do you want me to do?! Not punish them? They have been bad children," Dave said looking Roy in the eye. Roy felt terrified. He didnt know what to do. Roy tried fighting his father's grip by wiggling around violently.
"This is not you, Dave. Put your son down...Now...," his wife said.
"I TOLD YOU TO DISCIPLINE THESE KIDS! NOW I HAVE TO FOR YOU!," Dave shouted at his wife. Then, all of a sudden a scream from Dave's mouth. Roy had bitten Dave's hand, causing him to drop him to the pavement below. Roy didnt know what to do.
"Run! Roy! Run!," Emily shouted.
Roy turned to try to get help from their neighbors across the way until he felt a rock hit him in the back to the head. This caused Roy to slip onto his face.
"COME OUT OF THE STREET YOU STUPID IDIOT!!," shouted Dave. Roy just froze in fear as he saw his dad screaming at him from the sidewalk. Then, all of a sudden, a fast car turns the corner of their track. The car saw Roy, but didnt have enough time to stop. The car rammed into Roy, leaving him a bloody mess under the cars tires.
"Roy!!!!!," Emily cried out in sorrow.
"You see. This is why they need to be disciplined...," Dave shouted at his wife who was kneeling to the ground with her hands over her mouth.
Emily just sat there and cried for the loss of her brother.
