Owen tried to open his eyes, despite the pain he was in getting flung across the room. Ella knelt next to him and shook his shoulder to wake Owen up. She frantically shoot Owen and repeated his name. Owen groaned at the pain he was in. His lungs felt like a giant weight was placed in them and immediately taken off. Owen opened his eyes and tried to catch his breath.
"Owen!," Ella said almost excitedly as Owen coughed. "You need to go after that thing...it took Trent!"
"M-me? W-what about you...you have a blade, right?," Owen said turning to her. He put his hand to his chest in pain of the shock that this monster gave him.
"Of course, I do!," Ella said crossing her arms and turning away from him. "I was just...checking on you...,"
"A...and not Trent? He is a jerk, but he is still part of our team...,"Owen said.
"But...my blade is no good...," Ella said letting her arms fall to her sides.
"How is that? You have the blade that you have...it can't be defective...," Owen said.
Ella just shook her head then buried it in her hands. She took a big sigh and slowly lowered her hands once more.
"Not defective...just...unwanted...," Ella said.
"Unwanted? How? Aren't you a leaf blade too? What do you have to be ashamed of?," Owen said as he tried sitting himself upright.
Ella just sat and sighed. Silence filled the air as the young girl stood to her feet. She inhaled and thrust her arm out, only to have a red weapon in the shape of a sickle appear in her hand. Owen was in awe of the sight of Ella's blade. It made him confused, only for a moment though. This was until he realized what this meant. He shot up from the place where he was sitting almost immediately to come up to her. His chest had an unbearable pain to it, but Owen didn't care. The was the first time in a long while where he didn't feel alone.
"Y-you are a fire blade! Just like me!!," Owen said.
Ella turned to him and nodded as her eyes drifted lazily to the side in utter disappointment.
"But...unlike you...I am from Spirit City. The origin of the first fire village...and no one likes us over here...," Ella said.
"No! Not true at all!," Owen exclaimed. "I was the same way"
"Y-you came from Spirit city?," Ella question in confusion.
"No...but I did feel like I didn't belong...and you know the reason for that...," Owen said.
"Trent was the reason I hid it too...I...I didn't want him not to like me...,"Ella said as she started to turn red.
"I know how you feel...but we still have to save him...,"Owen said.
At first Ella was confused a bit and rolled her eyes. She smiled afterwards and sighed. She knew that he was right. They were a team and Trent needs their help more than anything. She closed her eyes and sighed once more.
"Thank you, Owen," Ella said, relieved as though a giant weight had been lifted off her chest.
"Y-you're welcome," Owen smiled.
Ella looked behind Owen and noticed a scroll that was rolled up on the ground where Owen was laying a minute ago.
"Uh...Owen? What is that?,"Ella said pointing at the scroll.
Owen turned and saw the scroll that seemingly left his pocket.
"Oh!," Owen said walking towards it and picking it up. "Thank you"
As he picked it up, Owen started to question why he still had the scroll that Axis gave him. Odd that he still had it all this time, and why? Was it still that dream he had? He stood up after taking it in his hand noticed something scurrying across the floor.
"The mouse!!," Owen exclaimed as he took out his blade.
"Wha?," said Ella. "Where?,"
The mouse stopped in the corner of the dusk colored room. It twitched its nose.
"There!," Owen pointed to it in the corner of the room.
Ella turned her head to look, but then glanced back at Owen with a strange look.
"Nothing is over there Owen," Ella said curiously.
The scroll in Owen's hand started glowing in a golden white light. It radiated through Owen's fingers as he looked down at it. The mouse in the corner started to charge at Owen. Owen tried attacking the mouse, but it jumped in the air, only to land on the scroll. The mouse seemed to dissipate as a white light seemed to swallow the whole room.
