Chapter 62: A Voyage

"Go?!," Trent and Ella said in unison confusion as they chased Owen down to the docks. Owen went up to one of the sail boats and did his best to start preparing it for departure. He had little knowledge how but he tried the best he could to tie up the sail.

"B-but, Owen!! What about school? Everyone is going to wonder where you are?," Ella said coming up to the side of the little sail boat.

"I need to do this...," Owen said.

Owen was not paying any attention to Ella while preparing the boat. Trent was the next to come up to the side of the small sail boat.

"Need to do what?," Trent asked.

"Find my father," Owen said.

"Wha?! Your father?!," exclaimed Ella in confusion. "Where are you going to go?! You have no leads. No way of knowing where you are headed or if you will even find him."

"Py," Owen said.

"Py?! That's too far away from here. The foriegn desert is vicious!," Ella said.

"Someone told me to...," Owen said.

"Who?," Ella asked as she watched Owen jump off the boat onto the dock.

Owen sighed and looked at Ella and spoke: "Spirit."

"Spirit? A spirit?! That's...that's...that's crazy! I mean, you honestly think that a spirit would ask you to do that?! Come on, Trent, say something!," Ella said frantically.

Trent was standing silent throughout their whole conversation. He thought hard about this decision, and spoke: "actually...he is right."

"Right?!," Ella exclaimed in disbelief.

"Yeah...I know that I was hard on Owen before, but...this is his journey that he wants to take. I have seen what I have done wrong...I was stubborn...I didn't know what I would do. I hated this role I had to take so much that I let it control who I was...but now, I am willing to embrace it...will you forgive all the bad things I put you through, Owen," said Trent.

Owen nodded and gave Trent a smile.

"W-what?! You two are crazy!!," Ella said.

"Well...I'm coming too," Trent said.

"What?! No! You can't!!," Ella said.

Trent looked back at Ella. Ella stared at Trent in utter confusion and disbelief of Trent's decision.

"I had to at some point, Ella. Things just...aren't the same without her...," Trent said.

"E-Emily...? You are going because of her?!," Ella exclaimed.

"I'm sorry, Ella," Trent said.

"I'm sorry, too," Owen said gazing at Ella with a smile.

"Well...I...I will have to tell them...," Ella said angrily.

"Go ahead. We are not stopping for nobody," Trent said taking off his earpiece.

Owen took out his earpiece as well. They both handed them to Ella.

"Will I ever see you two again...?," Ella said.

"Yes!," Both of them said together.

"We are coming back home," Trent said.

"And also...you are a part of team Hunter too," Owen said with a smile.

Ella, with tears in her eyes, hugged both of them as tightly as she could. They hugged her back.

"Be safe team...," Ella whispered.

The moment they let go, Owen and Trent stepped onto the boat. Owen untethered the rope that held the boat to the docks. As he did so, the wind caught the sail and they were off. A new voyage awaits for Trent and Owen. They waved back to shore at Ella, tears streaming down her face. She watched the boat get further and further out to sea until it disappeared into the fog resting its body on the sea.

It was quiet, the waves crashed to shore. Ella felt the docks bob underneath her. She was alone. Completely alone. The only thing to keep her company were the nightly crickets and the stars above her. She pressed on her earpiece...

...And spoke.
