Stormtrooper

4 ABY, Lothal

Jon didn't realize the danger he was in! He was calm but nervous. It was a dangerous task and with the drill instructor yelling commands at the same time...Jon had to do it! Beethree would always try to warn the instructor but was shut off immediately. Causing Jon a panic. He hung from a rope and was to be dipped in the pool. He shut his nostrils with his upper lip, sucking the air into him at the same time to try and not get the water in him. Then down he went.

He closed his eyes and in his mind, he recited 'i am one with the force' over and over again. Often getting the drill instructor furious as time passed. One after the other each body parts were concealed underwater until his soles were down. He recited and also tried to not move a single inch. It was taught by Instructor Tuno that not moving was an important muscle memory to have.

Instructor Tuno was a Zabrak male who stood a five-foot-three short but commanded around on a body of a K-series droid. He wore grey attire always but never got his hands in the dirt. His voice was piercing and would often get you very angry at times. He was safe but due to his high respect for many battles, he claimed to have won. Jon would then be forced to stay for as long as he could.

Outside the base, a ship had landed a distance away from it. About ten stormtroopers had walked out the ship ready to enter the base. As they approached the gate guard attempted to stop them but one of the troopers pulled out a crimson sabre, ignited it and slashed his body. One of the troopers were directed to stay and take the guards place.

They entered the commander's office, closed the door and unleashed wrath upon the poor man. The lightsaber fellow stood guard and dragged him outside like a ragdoll. His bloody face dripped onto the sand and he looked red and swole but manage to stay awake. One of the members grabbed his hair and presented the almost dying man.

"This here is your commander Grizlade! The 'so' called battle hero of the empire!" he started as he spat at the commander. "This man is a liar, look at him he cowers in fear and cannot defend himself! This isn't a hero, more like a spy!" he claimed as people gathered around hearing of the news.

"A REBEL SPY!" He grunted hard and kicked the commander while everyone around gasped in shock. "He has brought down this base, and our Lord Padraw is fuming. Unless you take back your base and serve the great emperor you will all share the same fate as this man!"

"Our superior has recommended Jorel Iscandar as your new commander. He will be also in charge of your mission and supervision in training." he continued, casually igniting his sabre and piercing Grizlade from the head down. "We will establish Lothal as ours regardless of any rebel!"

-

Later on, Jon was summoned into one of the soldier rest camps and rushed immediately to receive his news. He couldn't find his drill instructor but found Iscandar waiting for him. The rest of the troopers were the disguised Degri, standing at attention! Jon stood at attention right as he reached the door.

"Trooper JR-1998, these are your new members of the trooper corps. You will report here every day with your belongings and your discipline ready to serve is that clear?" he commanded.

"Yes sir!" he said not moving a muscle.

After the meeting, Jon and his squad had met up for training. At the courses, Jon would sometimes have problems and he would get help from a fellow called Lam. Helping was forbidden but the two never followed that order. Only because they would grow fond of each other.

Lam was a young clone who was thirteen by the time the Clone Wars had ended. He left to Corellia and served a Harch. From there he was taken away by the empire and tortured to learn of their ways but he never budged ever since.

The battalion was now off to a mission in Bessafant a planet torn in war. The planet was a rebelling planet but almost often refused to fight or even join the empire. Massacres were commonplace for the planet day in and day out. As the battalion waited in the trooper shuttle, Jon would flicker the lights to try to get the group laughing.

"Knock it off!" a trooper growled as he punched Jon's helmet.

"Lam is that you?" Jon asked quietly.

"Yea, now what?"

"I had one question you know?" he mentioned. "Alright shoot!" Lam continued.

"What are you going to do after the rebellions and the wars and stuff?" he smiled underneath the mask waiting for a response.

"Well I don't know probably die here!" he said quietly.

"What do you mean?" Jon growled as the ship touched down. He walked off to start shooting at the enemy, but Lam held him back. "You think life as a soldier is just getting in and out?" he started.

"I've been here since the Clone Wars! This is all we know, there are a lot of people here who were born here and now they'll die here!" he barked as he sped off and began his mission. Jon then followed him and the battalion gained on the enemy. With new tactics and new training, the battalion was way tougher than ever before.

After hours of gunfire, the enemy was caught in a corner trap and decided to surrender to the empire. Although a cease-fire and a white flag flew high the squad leader barked commands to the troopers! Commands that were inhumane.

"Alright gentlemen, in the empire. No enemy must survive to kill them all!" he yelled as he pointed to them, but instead of an instant fire from the whole group. Only a few of the troopers (who were disguised as the Degri) began firing. "What are the rest of you doing?!" he growled.

"FIRE!!"

Inside Jon's mask, he saw millions of red lasers that shone through his visor lens. He couldn't believe what he had seen, it was shocking. The act of the troopers firing at people who just surrendered was something that Jon would never do. He broke down in anger and proceeded to hold his blaster up incase the leader was watching. He didn't understand why they would fire at anyone in as such aggression as shown before him. He had lost it.

Several missions after Bessafant all followed the same pattern. This was until Jon decided to confront squad leader Paxton himself about the matter. In the squad leader's office was a human male who stood at a staggering six-foot-seven and looked down at all the ants below him. Paxton was the leader of the Degri Clan and a dark side force wielder.

His home planet of Dromia was approached by the empire and was saved from extinction. Paxton being a force-sensitive was trained by Padraw for as long as he could remember and now served the Degri as a gift from Padraw.

"Hey Paxton, is it?" Jon started. "Why are our missions just basically genocidal? Killing everyone left and right, civilians too!"

"The galaxy is cleaning its scum. All the missions we just went to are all filled with dirt and plague and it's our job to get our hands dirty." Paxton explained. "Do you have a problem with it?"

"Yes! Of course, I do! Every time we do this trillions of people die before we can make a change and this is not the way we do it here! Not in this base." he explained.

"This is exactly why this base is failing its missions. A lot of money is being spent to get you all to change the empire but this base wasted all it with your rebel scum of a commander," he growled.

"How dare you!" Jon threatened. "I can get you fired you know, doing all this isn't going to look good on your next resume."

"And what is my next resume for?" he said as he ignited his sabre. Jon panicked for a while and backed up knowing he couldn't take the man on since he didn't have a sabre of his own. He fled the office and would then begin to plan his next moved quietly.
